Batista Slams WWE PG; Says He Didn't Believe In What He Was Doing, Reveals He Was So Programmed For Life On The Road He Hit His Ex-Wife

I had a chance to read through Batista's feature article in the November 2012 issue of Muscle & Fitness. The feature is packed with newsworthy bits but below are some of the quotes from Batista that I found of particular interest:

"Vince [McMahon, chairman of WWE] wanted to make it more of a PG-rated show… and nothing reads PG about me."

"They wanted to sell the all-American poster boy, and that's not me"

"They weren't offering me any more movie roles or commercials. I always believed that professional wrestling needed a certain violence - an edge- and they took that away. So, I didn't believe in what I was doing anymore."

Note from Richard: I found the movie comment interesting because remember Batista was originally cast for a starring role in a WWE Studios film but ended up being replaced by Triple H.

There were also some quick hits which I will recap in their entirety:

Life in the road as a wrestler…

"It was hard, but I got used to it. I actually freaked out one night when I was home. My wife at the time started moving in bed and I hit her because I thought I was in a hotel somewhere and somebody had jumped into bed with me. That's how programmed I got to being on the road. She started crying and I started crying. I felt really bad about it.

Telling Vince McMahon he was leaving the WWE…

"I said I might like to come back. He gave me his blessing. He wasn't happy that I was going, but he left the door open for me to return, and wished me luck."

I always thought Batista was gay… Or was that just that Booker T made him his b!tch

    • Pluto

      LMAO, love It

  • Patrick Peralta

Vince is never happy when a wrestler leaves his company.

    • Kevin

Yeah, Vince wished him luck…..Good luck on your future endeavors!

  • Hitman310

Vince has and will always have a facination with the look that batista has. By that i mean the Big, tall, muscular frame, so ofcourse he would welcome him back if they dont burn the bridge on their way out.

    • Kevin

Someone commented that they thought Batista was gay. I think Vince is gay, because he does seem to have an unhealthy obsession with tall, muscular guys.

      • Chris H

Yeah, because he must be gay because he wants a certain look that sells for his business. I guess all those Hollywood directors are gay for wanting a certain look that sells for their movies too.

Maybe you should look at your own closeted homosexuality before being so quick to suggest someone else must be gay. Moron.

There’s no excuse for hitting a woman. Especially your wife, what a piece of crap.

    • Kevin

Back down, Mike. It isn't like he hauled of and punched her in the face during an argument. He was asleep. Try spending 300+ days on the road, getting to be home for only a couple of days at a time, and see what it does to you. You'll get used to sleeping alone, too, and when you're home and your wife moves in bed next to you, you'll probably smack her thinking someone is climbing into your bed at the hotel room.

No offense to Batista but he was never that good of a wrestler. The guy complains about Wwe going PG and him needing to be edger, however if you’re good then you can work either way. Batista is bitching a lot about PG I say good bye don’t come back. People complain about Ryback getting a push, but he wrestles better then Batista does. The guy is all about self. He needs a reality check he’s no hall a famer, and the only reason he made it in Wwe after Wcw turned him away was because Vince likes big dudes, but guys like Punk, Daniel, and Ziggler could out wrestle him on their death bed.

erm, no, sometimes accidents do happen, ex military, new wife hiding around corner jumps out and goes "BOO" and got a reflex slap ina mouth for her trouble, much to my immense horror because l too firmly believe women should never be hit, (having watched my mother be a punching bag through all my nurturing years) accidents happen

  • PhilT81

If you hit your wife it’s because you’re a douchebag – don’t blame anything or anyone. He should grow some balls and take some personal responsibility.

  • Its not a batista’s fault his ex wife Glenda used to beat him He also had a really Rough Child hood I mean his mother threw him out his father’s threw him out he watch people get murdered in his front yard you guys need to get off your high horse and stop judging him
