John Cena Challenges The Shield To 6-Man Tag Match At WWE Elimination Chamber

After Raw went off the air, John Cena announced that he, Ryback, & Sheamus are challenging The Shield to a 6-man tag match at this year's WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. The video has been posted to the official WWE website, as well as a backstage interview with Mark Henry and more.

  • Just a 6 man tag team match? Given that they’re going for six I would honestly much rather a 6 man tag team elimination chamber match. 3 per team, inside the chamber, released periodically as per elimination chamber rules. Would be a lot more interesting since as we know with Sheamus, Cena and Ryback, none of them are going to be pinned early so it’ll likely end up 3 v 3 and gives the new guys a tonne of exposure in a big match.

Also offsets the lack of a Raw elimination chamber match since it was obvious Rock was never going to step foot in there to defend as the champion more recently has come to do.

99% sure it’ll end up being an elimination chamber match. Seems kinda obvious.

The match might just be a six man tag because it’s impossible to book the shield in the elimination chamber against cena’s team without the shield looking weak cause wwe won’t let Their biggest star lost especially not before wrestlemania and will stunt the growth of the shield. In a six man tag the shield could isolate one of their opponent in their corner till cena or ryback get there hot tag and eventually win the match for their team. Hence making the shield look strong in defeat while cena team picks up the win. The only way I can see the shield in the chamber will be if they get the first three out of four people to be the shield and beat sheamus then lost to ryback and cena but it still makes the shield kind of weak to me

I think Orton should’ve been in this match rather than Cena. We’ve been fed with The Shield assaulting Orton/Sheamus/Ryback for weeks now and seems like WWE is kinda forgot about Orton and The Shield. Didn’t Orton wants some payback from The Shield for putting him on shelves for a few weeks earlier?

Creative have booked themselves into another horrible corner… At what point did anyone think putting The Shield and Cena together this close to Wrestlemania would be a good idea. You’ve got can’t afford to lose v nailed on to win.

I wonder what direction Vince decides too go with The Shield after EC now that it appears that their angle with Heyman/Punk is now over.
