Gotta say, I’m disappointed by that. They should have fed someone else to Lesnar so he could destroy them – no way they’ll do this rematch like the previous one.

    • John

I agree that it seems too soon to do the rematch after Brock just squashed him. But then again, their is nobody else on the roster who can headline a PPV against a guy like Lesnar. Great talent across the board but the main event scene in WWE is extremely weak.

      • Bob’s Diner

I know what you mean – the other problem is Reigns was the only babyface to win at SummerSlam, so it wouldn’t make sense to give anyone a shot (Reigns isn’t ready to win and having him squished would be stupid).

        • Black Rose

Don’t forget Dolph Ziggler won as well.

          • John

True, but then again Dolph Ziggler vs. Brock Lesnar would probably cause the WWE Network to lose all of their subscribers.

The problem is Punk left and Bryan is injured(two people that I feel could of faced Lesnar at NoC) and everyone else is in the process of being built up. So the only logical options that I can think of are Orton(who’s lost a lot lately), Sheamus(who’s US Champ), & Cena(who just lost to him). For once I can’t really blame creative as there isn’t really a good option/safe option at the moment.

    • Xavier

Same here actually. I think a guy like Sheamus would of been the perfect opponent for Lesnar here at a B level PPV

    • Gary Robert

This time he makes Cena tap!!

  • Alex

Weak booking but to be honest who could they of booked Lesnar against? The timing isn’t right for Reigns just yet.

    • Cory Zepperi

I was hoping for Batista or Orton to get the match just to get a fresh face destroyed by Lesnar.

      • Alex

While I don’t think those are bad options, I don’t know when Batista is coming back(I’m guessing soon) and Orton hasn’t really had much success lately so he wouldn’t believably hold a candle to Brock after Cena jobbed.

        • Cory Zepperi

I agree about Orton not being credible at this time, its just always been a match I have wanted to see.

Two possible outcomes: Either Batista interferes, costs Lesnar the title which leads to a feud between those two and puts the belt back on everyday-here-guy Cena OR there’s even more blood, urine and vomit this time…

    • Mark

knowing john, he’ll just give Brock a rematch anyways, claiming he didn’t do it the right way. Batista hates Cena also so that’s kind of a long shot and he also prefers to be a heel as he is bad at being a baby face. if anything he’ll come back and challenge brock the following night on raw.

Cena will give a better showing at NoC but he’ll still lose. further enhancing Brock and taking cena out the title picture while possibly a chance of a character tweak(no heel turn) or a setup for another feud.

I hope you are right, I have that uneasy suspicion that Cena only agreed to the Summer Slam beatdown knowing he would get the title back a short while later…
But if we go with Brock beating Cena again, Batista challenging him after that makes a lot of sense which leads to their Survivor Series main event. At the Royal Rumble they could feed someone like Orton to Lesnar while Roman Reigns wins the Rumble and goes on to face Brock at WM. And if they think Reigns isn’t ready yet, they could have a returning Daniel Bryan win the Rumble and face him. And if he isn’t healthy by that point and they don’t trust Reigns Vince could always show Punk the money (as I still think Punk could be brought back with the promise of main eventing WM and winning the title there). There are a lot of great opportunities – but all of them involve Cena losing at NoC…

Pretty much HAS to be a more competitive match. I’m thinking no clean finish, either. DQ, count-out, etc. Nether guy jobs. But really, looking at the landscape, its hard to envision keeping the strap on Brock until Mania at this point AND keeping him heel. There just aren’t enough top faces right now to challenge him. He can’t keep beating Cena for the next 6 months; the crowd will probably turn Brock face if the program with Cena goes much longer. And if they try to have him feud with Rollins or Orton, Brock would probably end up the face, too. One interesting option might be a fued with Bray Wyatt, though that would probably result in Bray going face, which is probably too soon.

What’s the problem with turning Brock face? After kicking the living sh.. out of Cena that has more or less happened already anyway…

      • Vin Sidious

If they want to turn him face, fine. But if the intention is to keep him Monster Heel until he faces (presumably) The Rock at WM, then having him turned face by the fans would be a problem for Creative.
