The MVP of the Blog Spot is here with my previews and predictions for Wrestlemania XXIV!
It’s the granddaddy of them all! It’s the grandest stage of all! It’s the biggest event in sports entertainment! It’s the Wrestlemania 24!
This year’s Wrestlemania comes to us from The Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida! This is the first outdoor Wrestlemania IX since the one in Las Vegas, at Caesar’s Palace. Orlando campaigned to get Wrestlemania in their town because it’s one of the biggest moneymakers in sports. If I’m running a stadium and I want to make money, I think of two things: the Super Bowl and Wrestlemania. Sure, other events like the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament and the BCS National Championship game are big. However, the Super Bowl and ‘Mania are guaranteed big moneymakers. This being an outside event, there’s always the chance for inclement weather. WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has assured us that there will be a show no matter what happens with the weather. I’ve seen a few articles talking about the gigantic tarp that will be atop the stadium and the huge pyro display that will be there. Needless to say, I will be buying this DVD when it comes out. I really wanted to go to Wrestlemania and I will one day. I couldn’t this year because I’ve got class the next day and my Monday professors aren’t exactly the most understanding when you miss class.
I for one am excited. This is one of the best cards that I’ve seen in a while. While I don’t agree with some of the people in the WWE Championship Match, this is one of the biggest Wrestlemania’s ever. I honestly don’t see how they can top themselves. They’ve got the title matches, Money in the Bank, and Ric Flair’s potentially last match. How can you top that? I know how. Put The Rock, Edge, Stone Cold, The Undertaker, Triple H, and John Cena in a Hell in a Cell for a title. Ok, that may be a stretch but this year’s Wrestlemania is huge. I think the build up has been good but as always, there’s room for improvement.
WWE.com 24-Man Tri-Brand Battle Royal
Winner Gets ECW Championship Shot
This is a big, um, deal. I don’t think it will be a big to do. I guess it’s too hard to build up a feud on ECW and have a match at Wrestlemania. I honestly don’t know how they’re going to do this. Maybe bring everybody out and let them fight? I know in WCW, they had a ladder match for a contract for a Cruiserweight Championship on a PPV event. I guess they were running out of ideas and decided on this. Personally, I don’t know who’s going to win this match. I look for it to maybe have somebody change shows to come over and run with the ECW title. The ECW title is just another belt. It’s gone from a prestigious title to being about the same as the US and IC belt. Who do I think will win? Kane. Kane deserves a run with some kind of belt. If Kane doesn’t win, I guess we can have Khali crap on the belt some more.
My Projected Winner: Kane
Belfast Brawl
Finlay vs. John Bradshaw Layfield
This feud has been good although I don’t like them doing a “kid” getting beat up after the Benoit stuff. Finlay is a solid worker and I wish he could get a run with some belt. JBL is slowly getting into the shape he needs to be in to compete. I still wish he was an announcer on Smackdown because I can’t stand listening to the Coach. This is a feud that needs to continue after Wrestlemania. You can’t build this up for a few weeks, then kill it off at ‘Mania. I think this one will be bloody and will venture all over the Citrus Bowl. I hope it’s like the Undertaker-Triple H match from Wrestlemania X-Seven back in Houston, Texas. Either way, I look for Finlay to go over in this one.
My Projected Winner: Finlay
ECW Championship
Chavo Guerrero © vs. Battle Royal Winner
As noted above, I think Kane will win the Battle Royal. I honestly don’t know how this will all play out. I don’t look for Chavo to drop the belt anytime soon. If it’s time for him to drop it, I hope it’s to Kane. This is hard to predict with the opponent unknown. We have hardly seen Chavo that much in the past few weeks. I don’t look for him to lose the belt.
My Projected Winner: Chavo Guerrero
RAW vs. Smackdown Supremacy Match
Smackdown’s Batista vs. RAW’s Umaga
This is a pretty interesting match. I hope they do this every year but I wish they would expand it to include a guy from ECW. I’ve heard reports that Umaga will be moving to Smackdown after Wrestlemania. This should give them some chance to move him over there. I think he could “lose” the match and then get “fired” by William Regal. Then, Smackdown would hire him. That’s one possibility. Either way, Oomanga is going to Smackdown. The build up for this one has been decent. You can’t do too much talking when one of the guys doesn’t do much mic work. I did enjoy him trying to talk into the mic this past Monday. I’m just glad Batista is nowhere near the World title picture. With that said, I’ve got Umaga in the Brand Supremacy match.
My Projected Winner: Umaga
Money in the Bank Ladder Match
#1 Contender’s Match: Any Championship
Mr. Kennedy vs. Chris Jericho vs. MVP vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Carlito vs. CM Punk vs. John Morrison
I must say, Jeff Hardy has let me down. He had a main-event spot in his hands and basically threw it away. Hardy was suspended for his second Wellness Violation, this time for 60 days. He screwed up. Let’s move on. I don’t know who will win this match. Last year, Mr. Kennedy won and got hurt, so he couldn’t cash his in. He’s talked about if he wins it this time, he’s going to go out after the WWE Championship match and cash it in. Hopefully they’ll put the World Heavyweight Championship as the main event. Chris Jericho seems like the early favorite to win. He’s been in the mix enough to warrant another title shot. This could be MVP’s chance to break out. He’s come a long way and he’s growing to become a big-time player on the main event scene. I think he could be challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship this time next year. I doubt Carlito wins. I was hoping he would remain as a tag partner of Santino Marella. They don’t have tag teams never mind. Moving on, John Morrison might be a good choice but he’s not ready to make the leap to the main event scene. CM Punk is a good choice and he’s my choice. I think Punk is as ready as anybody to make the jump to main event status. I really want a feud between him and Edge. There’s nothing left for Punk to do on ECW. So let’s run it down real quick. Guys that won’t be winning: Shelton Benjamin, Carlito, John Morrison, and Mr. Kennedy. Guys that have a shot: Chris Jericho, MVP, and CM Punk. CM Punk is my pick to win the Money in the Bank Ladder match.
My Projected Winner: CM Punk
Playboy BunnyMania Match
Ashley Massaro & Maria vs. Beth Phoenix & Melina
In this day in age, when it comes to Divas being involved at Wrestlemania, chances are the chick that’s posing for Playboy will go over. It happens every year and I don’t think this year will be any different. While I enjoy seeing Maria in Playboy, I’d rather have a solid women’s feud for the title. Look at TNA. That’s one of the positive things they’ve got is a solid women’s division. They’ve got women that can wrestle. They’ve got hot women that can wrestle, except for Awesome Kong. Anyway, I think Beth & Melina will carry this match. Maria isn’t as good as the other ladies. Why they put Ashley in here instead of Mickie, I don’t know. I’m guessing it is cause of the whole Playboy thing. Funny thing, last year around this time, the women’s match was going to determine Melina’s future with the company. A year later, she’s back in the women’s match at Wrestlemania. As far as the action goes, I’m thinking Maria gets the pin with Ashley watching her back.
My Projected Winner: Ashley Massaro & Maria
No Holds Barred Match
The Big Show vs. Floyd “Money” Mayweather, Jr.
I honestly don’t know how they’ll do this match. If they were to go legit, I think Mayweather would get some good shots on in Big Show but Show would squash him like a bug. Mayweather will be bringing his posse, including 50 Cent. I hope Show gets some guys to come down to the ring with him. Show, if you by some chance read this, give me a holler bro and I’ll come down to the ring with you. As before, I don’t know how they’re going to do this. I know they’ve made the rules about “there must be a winner” and you can win by pinfall, submission, or knockout. Matt Sydal has been working with Mayweather a little, mainly because they’re the same size. Sydal was the shit in ROH. I think Big Show will go over, mainly because I don’t see them doing another celebrity-over-a-Superstar deal. Remember K-Fed and John Cena? Either way, this one will be interesting. They’ve pushed this one to be a big draw for Wrestlemania. Some of you may think it’s not a big deal but has anybody figured out yet who’s the heel and who’s the face?
My Projected Winner: The Big Show
WWE Championship
Triple Threat Match
Randy Orton © vs. John Cena vs. Triple H
This is probably the most interesting match. Cena was running with the title for over a year. He tore his pectoral muscle and had to forfeit the WWE Championship. There to pick up the pieces was Randy Orton. Orton defended his belt against Triple H and lost at No Mercy. Triple H then defended the belt against Umaga and successfully retained. Later on, Triple H defended the title against Orton, this time in a Last Man Standing match. Orton won the belt and ran with it for 5 months. Just when things started to settle down, a surprise entrant into the Royal Rumble emerged. John Cena returned as the 30th man into the Rumble and would go on to win. Rather than wait for Wrestlemania, Cena opted to cash in his chance at No Way Out. With this going on, a new #1 Contender would be crowned in the RAW Elimination Chamber Match. At No Way Out, Randy Orton retained his WWE Championship when he got himself disqualified in his match with John Cena. Later in the night, Triple H would survive the Elimination Chamber match to go on to Wrestlemania to face Orton for the title. The next night on RAW, controversy emerged from No Way Out. Cena demanded a shot for the title but only if he won a match against Randy Orton, with Triple H as the special guest referee. Cena captured the win over Orton with an FU but would soon be put down by a Pedigree from Triple H. The main event was set for Wrestlemania. In a 3-way match for the WWE Championship, it would be Randy Orton defending his title against John Cena and Triple H. The weeks leading up, no man could capture momentum over the others. Each competitor had the chance to run RAW and gain an advantage over his opponents. No man proved successful as each fought to stay alive for the match at Wrestlemania. It’s a devious champion who will do anything to stay on top. It’s a champion who never lost his belt. It’s a former champion who hasn’t be on the mountaintop in so long, he wants to be champion again. It’s Randy Orton against John Cena against Triple H for the WWE Championship. I’ll take the King of Kings, Triple H!
My Projected Winner: Triple H
Damn, that was better build up than what they did themselves on RAW!!!
World Heavyweight Championship
Streak vs. Streak
Edge © vs. The Undertaker
Does it get any better than this? I’m a huge fan of both of these guys. The Undertaker is 15-0 at Wrestlemania. He has a streak that could never be broken. He’s unlike any other Superstar I’ve ever seen. Just when you think Undertaker will lose at ‘Mania, he wins. He won the World Heavyweight Championship last year at Wrestlemania. His run was cut short however due to a torn biceps muscle. The man who took his title was Edge. This has been building for months now. The Ultimate Opportunist comes in to defend his title. He too is undefeated at Wrestlemania. No, I don’t want to hear about last year’s Money in the Bank match. This is one of the biggest matches ever. The build could have been better but they’ve done a tremendous job. I want druids on Undertaker’s entrance. I remember against Orton at Wrestlemania 21, Undertaker “floated” to the ring. That was kickass, even though you could tell he was being pulled. The Undertaker is 15-0 at Wrestlemania. Edge is the World Heavyweight Champion. It’s the Tombstone Piledriver vs. the Spear. It’s the Phenom vs. the Rated R Superstar. It’s streak vs. streak. It’s for the World Heavyweight Championship. It’s Edge vs. The Undertaker. I’ll take the Undertaker in this one, going 16-0 at Wrestlemania!
My Projected Winner: The Undertaker
Career Threatening Match
Ric Flair vs. Shawn Michaels
This is what I hope will be the main event. Throughout my entire life, Ric Flair has been the name most synonymous with wrestling. I can remember watching him at an early age and then later on in WCW. I can remember getting in trouble in school every time I went, “WOOOOOOO!” Now, the time is upon us that Flair may have to retire. I do think this could have been done a lot better. It just seems like Flair went against random people each month. This time around, he hand selected his opponent in Shawn Michaels. It’s fitting that this is happening the night after Flair gets inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. They’ve done a great job building this up. The promos have been electric. WOOOOOOO! The limited ring action has been great. I honestly wish they had started this a tad sooner. I can’t believe these two haven’t feuded earlier in the past. WOOOOOOO! Flair is a 16-time World champion. HBK is a 4-time World champion and the first-ever Grand Slam Champion. Flair is the Nature Boy. Michaels is the Heart Break Kid. Flair is the Dirtiest Player in the Game. Michaels is the Showstopper. This match has classic written all over it. I honestly think Flair has one classic match left in him. I think he wins this one and goes on to RAW to have his retirement stuff. I can’t see The Man losing on the grandest stage of them all. Remember when they had The Rock against Hollywood Hulk Hogan, Icon vs. Icon? Well, this is bigger than that. It’s the Figure Four Leg Lock vs. Sweet Chin Music. It’s the Nature Boy vs. the Heart Break Kid. It’s Flair vs. Michaels at Wrestlemania!
My Projected Winner: Ric Flair
RAW – Mondays at 9PM on USA Network
ECW – Tuesdays at 10PM on SciFi
Friday Night Smackdown – Fridays at 8PM on the CW
John McCain for President ‘08
Wrestlemania 24 – March 30 – 8PM – Only on PPV!

Im hoping Flair wins. Im not the biggest Flair fan but he does deserve the win for his career. Hogan has nothing on this guy!
and please for the love of God DO NOT LET HHH OR CENA WIN! hhh is over rated, only reason he gets the title is cuz hes bangin the boss’ skank daughter, and cena wins cuz he takes it up the pooper from vince. hate orton but id rather have him keep the title.
March 30th, 2008 at 12:30 am
ha i got 1st too btw!…lol
March 30th, 2008 at 12:32 am
This is going to be a fantastic wrestlemania.
Anyone see the HOF ceromony? god bless the rock his opening speech/promo was side splitting funny. Lol his cheap shot on john cena more specifically the marine was some of the funniest shit iv heard on any wwe programming in so so very long.
March 30th, 2008 at 2:15 am
Ric Flair and HBK did actually feud together Luke, at Bad Blood one year. I think it was 2004. I to hope the Ric Flair vs HBK match is the Main Event as well.
JBL is going to win at Wrestlemania. Also, Randy Orton should retain the title. But we all know that John Cena is going to win. The last 7 Wrestlemania’s, the Royal Rumble winner has always won the title. I’m sorry guys, I hate this as much as anybody. But come Wrestlemania, Cena is going to win. God Help us!!!
Here is what’s going to happen.
Bunnymania- I would rather see Big I ate my Daddy V, Khali, Mark Henry, Snitsky, in a wrestling match. Yes a wrestling match.
Mayweather vs Big Show- Mayweather is going to win this. He is to much of a dick and a ass to say to Vince okay I’ll lose. We all know he is going to win.
ECW Battle Royal – Either Kane or Mark Henry.
JBL vs Finlay – Hornswoggle is going to get involved but JBL is going to win this.
Batista vs Umaga – This feud is going to continue after Wrestlemania. I think Umaga will win this with Batista winning at Backlash.
Money in the Bank – They might give this to CM Punk or Y2J.
Taker vs Edge – Edge is not going to end Taker’s streak. Undertaker is going to go 18-0. Vince will not do that to him. I hope that Edge does get the title back after Wrestlemania. However, if Edge does win, that will be the biggest shocker and ratings for Smackdown will definitely go up.
Cena vs Triple H vs Randy Orton – I hope to god that Randy Orton wins. But the Royal Rumble winner, Cena, is going to win this. Cena is as good as dead with the fans. In one more year I seriously think that the women and the children are going to stop cheering for him also. I don’t care who you are. If you are the WWE champ and your a face, and you are getting bood by the fans, your done. He went from being a top young prospect to being the biggest jackass of the WWE. I’m sorry Cena but ever since you won the title, ratings have been down. Your the poison of the WWE. But your going to win at Wrestlemania. And if Triple H really cares about the company, he will get his royal ass out of the main event and feud with someone else. Dude, your 38 years old and won the title 11 times. WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT SON!!!!!! Get out of the spotlight.
HBK vs Ric Flair – I wasn’t around for the Ric Flair era but I’m pretty sure he was the greatest. I was around when Austin won his first title. Anyway, I see Ric Flair kicking out of 15 sweet chin music’s but finally losing this match. I would like to see Ric Flair pulling out a big one. This match steals the show with Ric Flair giving a hell of a fight. Ric Flair is going to stand in the ring for about 5 minutes with everybody giving him a standing o. I just hope they don’t get out of hand with the whole locker room coming out and clapping for Flair. That’s going overboard. Long live Naitch.
Those are my Wrestlemania Predictions.
March 30th, 2008 at 5:13 am
I wana see Randy Orton carry the title for a few more months, Cena and HHH can fued without the belt and it will still draw big.
MITB is going to be interesting, and I would love to see Punk win, he has been on Raw and SD alot these last few weeks probably to test his crowd reaction out. And I know on Raw he was getting a good pop. I would like to be suprized and have a 8th entrant in the match and piss us all of and win it, so nobody got to call it like Cena winning the Rumble.
I could see Chavo losing his title and starting a new fued with somebody, Kane as Champ would be nice to see.
Bunnymania, my girl Melina is in this one, I hope she doesn’t lose. Luke you said that the playmate girl goes over every year? Ashley lost last year as she should have to Melina. Actually it seems like there have been like 4 online interviews with Melina over the last month, thats the most I remember any diva giving in a short time frame. Please let Beth and Melina win.
Actually in the Batista vs Umaga fued, both guys are hurting on the mic, Batista is horrible on it and Umaga doesn’t need to use it. Umagas been impressing people alot over the last few months. Both of these guys lost in high profile matches last year so its going to be interesting who the they let go over. I think this could be a sleeper match that turns out to be very good, Power vs Power like we havn’t seen in a long time.
Finaly vs JBL, JBL is amazing on the mic and can make anybody hate him, I’m okay with the Hornswaggle getting beat up as a kid, cause he doesn’t look like a kid at all, its just like Shane getting beat up by Stone Cold to me. I want to see some brawling with some good spots nothing pretty is going to happen.
Mayweather vs Big Show, I don’t want to see Big Show go down again since he gave up the title to Lashley. With the Mayweather is I don’t see him putting anybody over himself, so I’m looking for some interferance, maybe somebody from the back with save Floyd and start a fued with the show.
Flair vs HBK, with Flair having to lose eventually I don’t see anybody else that he would be willing to lose to. I think we could see a hesitant HBK in the ring once he hits Sweet Chin Music. And I do hope hope if he looses that everybody comes out from the back and gives him a standing ovation, and gives him the respect he truly deserves, nothing less would be shamefull.
Well I have to wait till Tuesday eveing Japan time to watch it but its going to be for free out here, so I can’t look at any wrestling news for like 2 days otherwise I’ll ruin it for myself. Looks like its going to be a nice card.
Big it will never happen but would be cool to see… Kennedy wins MITB, Edge actually beats Taker somehow, Kenndy cashes in his title shot right there and wins the Championship like he said he would all those months ago.
March 30th, 2008 at 7:20 am
what about Edge as the suprise entrant for MITB? He wins it, and uses it to try to get back his title in a couple of weeks after Undertaker has won it. It would fit Edge’s cunning personality.
March 30th, 2008 at 7:28 am
Uhh, it’s alright that you’re overrating your own writing by calling yourself the “MVP” of the Blog Spot, but do you have to put presidential support there too? Jeez…this isn’t place for politic views.
March 30th, 2008 at 8:04 am
Great blog as usual Luke. Here is my rundown of WM Picks starting with my least fav up to my fav match.
Bunnymania – Sanchico interferes costing Maria and Ashley the match and gets royally beat down after.
Big Show- Mayweather- With the way WWE booked this , I was not sure who to cheer for.It should be a snoozefest.Whoever wins is fine by me.
ECW Battle Royal/Title Match – I see Kane, Kofi, Kendrick,Khali or Holly winning the belt from OOOO Chavo.
Finlay/JBL – For Hornswoggle to get some redemption JBL is gonna get his ass beat.Should be a bloody match though seeing as how JBL was 17 time Hardcore Champ. The match should not be as bad as expected.
Batista-Umaga – Umaga has had some excellent matches.I see this match being similar to the one had against HHH at Cyber Sunday with the same result.Umaga loses to Batista.Should be damn physical.
WWE Championship.I would like Orton to retain and feud with MITB winner but I see HHH winning as a definite possibility so I am yet undecided.
MITB- I don’t see Kennedy repeating this year.I see a face winning, so either Y2J or Punk for me. If Matt is indeed 8th entrant I expect him to do a spot viz a viz the one Jeff did on Edge last year.
HBK/Flair – Should be a good technical wrestling match with Flair losing to Shawn cleanly and bowing out wish some dignity. Thanks Naitch.
Taker/Edge- Ahh, I really want Taker to beat the holy hell out of Edge in this especially after Edge duck and ran this past 3 weeks from him.A DQ victory does seem like a possibility though I hope it does not go that way and I hope Take makes Edge REST IN PEACE.
Have a grand WM everyone.See u back next week.
March 30th, 2008 at 9:03 am
Well, here are my picks (I only write the winners):
ECW Battle Royal: Kane
ECW Championship Match: Chavo Guerrero
Bunnymania: Maria and Ashley
Big Show vs. Mayweather: Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Finlay vs. JBL: Finlay
Batista vs. Umaga: Umaga

World Heavyweight Champion Edge vs. The Untertaker: The Undertaker
March 30th, 2008 at 10:19 am
HBK feuded with Triple H in 2004 at Bad Blood. This is the first time these two have locked horns.
To HK-47: You can see than I’m the best blog writer this site has. When I start writing a long spill about politics and me being the MVP, then you can whine.
March 30th, 2008 at 10:32 am
Here are my picks for WM tonight.
1. HHH 12 time champion but wont be surprised if cena wins
2. Takaer 16-0 new world champ am pretty certain about that
3.Either cm punk y2j kennedy or mvp for mitb matt hardy will make a apperance cause he was shown in a wwe.com exclusive video following mvp so yea dnt be surprised if you see matt tonight. I will say cm punk to take the case.
4. HBK/Flair: HBK to ends The Natures Boys career on the gradest stage it will be a classic
5. Finlay to win the Belfast Brawl against JBL it should be brutal
6. Batista & Umaga is a hard one to predict its SD V RAW but am not sure i think batista but i wont be surprised if umaga wins cause hes ment to be getting a push or if its a no-contest/DQ finish to i say Batista by DQ. Then to make the crowd happy batista will probably beat umaga up with a chair afterwards
7. Floyd V Show in a no holds barred match, floyd will win there is ment to be a big sweve but we will see so floyd to win
8. BunnyMania ashley an maria will probably win but i hoping for beth an melina
9. Pre-Show battle royal i will say either kane kofi or dreamer. But then chavo will probably keep the belt if its against dreamer of kofi but if its kane i dnt know we may see a change so i hope kane but i think chavo.
WM24 Should be amazing i will be watching it as i have already ordered it i hope all of you on here who order the event enjoy it. I have to stay up till 4 in the morning lol but then again we only have to pay £15 lol.
March 30th, 2008 at 10:56 am
Here are my predictions and i’ll explain a few:
ECW Battle Royal: Kane
ECW Title: Chavo retains. (I don’t see them taking the belt off of him at Mania as i still would like to see CM Punk regain the title from Chavo but it would be a nice lil surprise if Chavo did drop the belt)
Batista vs Umaga: (It really doesn’t matter to me who wins this match but it would be cool if Umaga put Batista down for the count at Mania since this feud is supposed to continue after WrestleMania.)
MITB Match: Y2J or Mr.Kennedy (This match never disappoints but i would be surprised if anyone besides the 2 that I mentioned win this match. Also to me it would make any sense if CM Punk won it and cashed in his opportunity on the ECW Championship that would just be a waste in my opinion.)
Shawn Michaels vs Ric Flair: This match has exciting all over it. If Michaels wins he ends Flair’s career, if Flair wins he stays this match to me is just too close to call.
WWE Title Match: Triple H will strike gold again enough said.(Even though I hate the fact that I said that, I really think Orton should retain his gold. I mean hasn’t the game had enough World & WWE Title reigns as it is already ? And really Cena doesn’t need to be champ again after that LONG and i do mean long title 1 year title reign he had last year.)
World Heavyweight Title Match: Undertaker 16-0.
(To tell the truth i think this match could go either way. And I like that due to the build up that this match has had in the last few months even in the past few weeks with edge dominating taker in handicapped & tag team matches. Hell Edge maybe the most credible star that could end the streak but a few years back Orton could had been the one that snapped the streak as well and it didn’t happen and i see the same for edge. And besides I think that with Taker being towards the end of his career, Vince shouldn’t snap the streak.)
March 30th, 2008 at 12:50 pm
Yes sorry about that Luke, my mistake. Ric Flair wrestled HBK at Bad Blood 2003 not 2004.
March 30th, 2008 at 2:37 pm
you made me even more excited about the last 3 matches, you sure do know how to build up a match in a blog
March 30th, 2008 at 5:30 pm
Luke, when you said Morrison isn’t ready for the Main Event scene, I hope you were talking about RAW and SmackDown and not ECW, because Morrison had the best reign of any champion last summer and carried the ECW Brand. Something Chavo can’t do at the moment. I don’t see Punk leaving ECW. That’s the main reason people watch the show. Who else is there? Kane isn’t on every week, Dreamer is not as popular with the audience as the old days, and everyone isn’t really helping things. I don’t think Vince would switch Punk. Not not anyway. I really do hate what he’s done to ECW though.
March 30th, 2008 at 5:42 pm
Speaking of ECW, Sorry to double post, but Kane won the Battle Royal!
March 30th, 2008 at 6:47 pm
So far, I’m 2-1 on my picks for Wrestlemania. I got Kane and Punk winning the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. This show is kicking major ass right now!!!
March 30th, 2008 at 8:44 pm
fantastic mania so far!!! I guess the “lesser” of the 3 evils won the wwe title (no need to spoil it) but the matches that i knew were gonna be fantastic.. were fantastic! edge vs undertaker is the last of my personal great match list.. im sure it will deliver.
March 30th, 2008 at 9:31 pm
yeah and i didn’t expect CM punk to win MITB i really didn’t if thats the case i hope WWE has him waste his title shot on the ECW Championship. I would prefer to see him go over to Smackdown in this summer’s draft and win the World Title on Smackdown.
March 30th, 2008 at 9:56 pm
Wrestlemania was the shit. The main event was the shit!
March 30th, 2008 at 9:58 pm
16-0!, 16-0, Thank you sweet jesus undertaker now has joined company with Stone Cold Steve Austin as being the only 2 people to win back-to-back world titles at WrestleMania.
March 30th, 2008 at 10:02 pm
I agree with you 100% on that luke this has been the best WrestleMania since WrestleMania XX in my opinion.
March 30th, 2008 at 10:04 pm
I called everything xcept Belfast Brawl.Decent WM. Delivered on many fronts.Title matches were unpredictable [even ECW but that was more to its length]
HBK/Flair did indeed steal the show for me.Shawn kept good on his promise and helped Naitch deliver the 5 star match we thought they would.
MITB was amazing with some crazy spots and it indeed was awesome. It went down to my final 2 and I am glad Punk won.He deserved it.
Hope the E can keep this momentum going somehow and not kill us mid year with some crappy storylines like Vince’s death last year/
March 30th, 2008 at 10:14 pm
I am PUMPED.
Not only did Taker win again, he brought back the full length vest/jacket from The Ministry days!!
March 30th, 2008 at 11:10 pm
I agree William, Best WrestleMania since WrestleMania 20.
HBK/Flair was match of the night by far. Greatest match on the card.
Money in the Bank was a spotfest and challenged the Money in the Bank from WM21 as this one outshined it.
I loved the Belfast Brawl to open the show to get the crowd excited for the rest of the show.
Floyd Mayweather vs Big Show was interesting to say the least. It lived up to the hype and surely delivered. Anybody know what was with big Show’s facial expressions? It’s like he broke character or something.
The WWE Title Match was very well done. I loved the two fans in the front with the “We Hate Cena” shirts on. I didn’t expect Orton to win though.
Undertaker vs Edge was such a great match. If any match was the slightest to compete with HBK/Flair, it’d be this one.
One thing I didn’t like was the ECW Championship Match and seeing as how I like ECW, some of you would know why.
I must say, I wish I was there. The view looked absolutely breathtaking. It was really amazing to see it on TV. I wonder what it felt like being there.

Thanks JOAT,
Reason why i said this was the best WrestleMania since 2004 is b/c the whole card itself was unpredictable.
