Here’s Don West trying to prove that TNA is a great company:
Don: “We’re all about taking, not giving. If you give Sharkboy a shell yeah! He doesn’t give anything back in return.”
Don: “We have a new Gimmick for Booker T; we plan on having him dig his nose every week on Impact. We’re going to start calling him Booger T after that.”
Don: “Did you know Killer Is Rellik spelt backwards?”
Adit: “Why are you telling me all this?”
Don: “Oh! We don’t believe in good story lines .We’ve got great wrestlers but we believe in making them do stupid things. We also like overbooking and we love Gimmicks ……absolutely love ‘em. That’s why we did something called DEUCES WILD.”
Adit: “Un-buh-lievable!”
Opening statements: Wrestling wise this week’s show was very good. The stuff they built around that was absolutely stupid. It spoilt the entire feel of the show. After last week, I got a ton of mails accusing me of hating TNA. In my defense, I thought last week’s show sucked, please read all my blogs here before making up your mind and calling me a TNA hater.
Sacrifice is usually a filler PPV. Nothing much ever happens on it. Wrestling wise it’s worth a definite watch but that’s all it ever does. This week had its main event decided. Kurt Angle enforced his rematch for the title after his Lockdown loss. Since most of the show was filled with Gimmicks TNA had no choice but to give this match some time and the match delivered.
Kurt was on fire and wrestling in his singlet. Joe used a lot of his regular moves-the chops, the facewash, a really cool decapitation clothesline and a flying elbow shot. Angle used his punches, European upper cuts, an awesome belly 2 belly suplex over his head and a release German suplex. The rest of the match was a lot of selling and some pretty generic moves fused with the cool ones like Irish whips and body shots. It was great to see Angle go for the moonsault and Joe using the spinebuster.
The finish was pretty cool designed to prevent Angle losing clean two times in succession with Steiner coming in and nailing the ref with a lead pipe. That led to Cornette making a 3 way a.k.a a triple threat match for Sacrifice. At stake: Joe’s world title. This match should be good but it’s safe to assume Steiner will get pinned allowing Joe to retain.
That was of course the good part, the stupidity started right at the beginning of the show.
Like I said last week LAX won a title match at Destination X .It would have made sense to have them taking on Styles and Tomko or Kaz and Super Eric with the titles at stake. Homicide, AJ and KAZ would have put on a clinic. Instead the debauchery of last week continued and things that needed to be explained like how the titles got held up without LAX being considered was conveniently skipped by.
There was no match between Booker T and Sting after last week with Booker having challenged Sting. Booker forgave Sting. Another skip by TNA. The promo was good with Booker talking to Sting but why advertise a match that won’t occur in the first place?
Ahem-to get more than a 1.0 rating.
Why are they getting a 1.0 rating-because they advertise matches that don’t take place.
The heel team of Roode and Storm interrupt but they and we get interrupted by Jim Cornette.
This is where we start having fun. Since the tag titles are vacated for no reason. A tournament of epic proportions will be created, the DEUCES WILD tag team tournament. The object of this tournament is to crown new tag team champions.
This is how it works.8 guys on Impact will compete in teams of two.3 matches follow with one winning team. This part of the tournament is composed of regular tag teams.
At Sacrifice there will be another 8 men competing in teams of two with 3 matches taking place. The winner of that part will face the winner of the first part composed of the regular tag teams.
What’s the catch?-the other 8 guys will be randomly determined singles wrestlers[Translation by TNA: We don't know what to do with them, that's why we have them wrestling, just to make them work for the money we pay them]
It sounds confusing as hell. Cornette wants to make this clear by passing around ‘written material’ to explain this. He’ll probably send me one too.
So the rest of the show was only tag team matches broken up by silly and needless promos. Team 3D took on Reign and the backwards killer RELLIK in a pretty decent match but by that time I was exhausted by Cornette trying to explain the DEUCES WILD so I just sat through doing nothing.
Another tag team match followed with Christian and Rhino taking on the Guns. This was pretty lengthy and athletic. Christian and Shelley wrestled a very athletic first part doing some mat work. Kicks follow and Rhino’s in with a Belly To Belly suplex on Sabin. The remaining match was quite fast paced with many tags exchanged nestled with punches, kicks, clotheslines,a springboard clothesline by Sabin, a frog splash by Christian and a very cool double DDT by Sabin. The finish saw the Guns getting buried ……again with a simultaneous Gore and an Unprettier getting the win for Cage and Rhino.
Yet Another tag team match followed with Storm and Roode taking on Sting and Booker T. This was also a pretty good and lengthy match with Roode and Storm tagging in and out working on Booker. The spot of the night came with Sting on the ropes trying to superplex Roode but power bombed by Storm causing all three guys to crash to the mat. The end was pretty entertaining with Storm arguing with Roode setting up Sting with the deathdrop on Storm getting the pin.
The best part of the show was easily the wrestling with all matches delivering and the title match being simply superb but the Gimmicks just ruined it.
So in honor of the Gimmicks, here’s a Gimmick count instead of the Impactor mini
#1 Gimmick name-DEUCES WILD

The popularity of gimmicks died somewhere in during the ’90’s…
Tip to TNA; stop being retarded if you want to seriously compete. The script of last night’s show can easily be overshadowed by an episode of The Simple Life anywhere. Another tip to TNA; Fire Russo.

Oh not again. TNA has made my happy trees very sad. This just proves my comments from last week that the TNA management is huffing the paint. I understand Rhyno and C-Squared are great wrestlers, I am a huge Christain mark, however in a Tag-Team tournament they do not go over the MCMG what the hell are they thinking. I couldnt even watch it last night, this is just getting ridiculous so much potential wasted on on so much crap. Anyways maybe they will wake up and realize what is going on when their ratings hit .67 but this is just getting sad.
April 25th, 2008 at 2:26 pm
where was little petey pump celebrating??? where was black machismo asking for a rematch??? WHERE WAS LAX IN A TAG-FULL iMPACT!???
April 25th, 2008 at 3:18 pm
Seriously, why do you write for this website if all you do is bash it. I know the show was very weak, but sometimes Raw and Smackdown are horrible to. You don’t here Luke or Chris talking as bad at the company as you are. And by the way, what was that Don West thing in the beginning? Very Korny.
April 25th, 2008 at 3:20 pm
HK-47;DUDE- A SCRIPT??
BOB-SADDER AND SADDER!
Guy-They are TNA,IT’S ALL ABOUT SKIPPING IMPORTANT STORYLINES.
April 25th, 2008 at 3:24 pm
SHARPSHOOTER-it’s exactly for guys like you that I placed a link in this post to my other blogs.
Please read the opening statements.I think you read the first part and skipped straight to the comments.
And,Luke doesn’t talk bad about the wwe….mmm..okay if you say so.
April 25th, 2008 at 3:27 pm
I didn’t say he doesn’t talk bad about the WWE, if you would learn how to read, I said that he doesn’t talk as bad about the WWE as you do to TNA. And for your information, I did read the opening statement, you are still a TNA hater.
April 25th, 2008 at 3:35 pm
Am I ?
Really!
Thanks for clearing that up.
April 25th, 2008 at 3:36 pm
Anytime Junior
April 25th, 2008 at 3:39 pm
Oh a Joke-ha ha!So much for ‘korny’.
April 25th, 2008 at 3:56 pm
“So much for korny”? Should I even comment on that? Whatever. Look Adity, what I’m trying to say is that all you do is just destroy the TNA and there are other people who can write better blogs. You do the same thing every week.
April 25th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
All right Sharpshooter, let’s cut the BS straight away.
What exactly is bothering you?
Is it the fact that I ripped on this show, well there was no choice,it was very stupid and I’m not sorry for that.
I don’t understand why you’re saying I destroy/do the same thing to TNA every week. That is just unfair because I clearly don’t.
In fact I’m butting heads with everyone else who’s trying to bury the show unfairly. That’s why I said read all my previous blogs. You’ll find I’ve actually praised them more than I’ve buried them.
But,the show has sucked from the past 2 weeks and that’s when I’ve buried them.I can’t condone things like the Guns getting buried and the titles being held up for no reason in spite of it being wrestling.
As for you liking someone else’s writing, that’s your choice dude. Many say I write better than everyone else so that’s that.
P.S:please call me Adit or Aditya not Adity.
April 25th, 2008 at 4:18 pm
Truce
April 25th, 2008 at 4:26 pm
No need because it wasn’t a fight at all!More like a conversation between 2 guys who like TNA very much but disagree on how they should do things.
But seriously tell me if you really think I do the same thing to TNA every week.Meaning:Do I really destroy them unfairly ?
April 25th, 2008 at 5:17 pm
100% agree with bob
April 25th, 2008 at 5:23 pm
& sharpshooter, i read the impactor every week & he praises TNA where praising is due, but i agree on everything he said in the past 2 weeks.
April 25th, 2008 at 5:54 pm
The thing is, you have to actually stay true to your opinions. Neither Raw or SmackDown! are great all the time (especially the latter…) and if you actually did read through them, you’d notice that the guys actually do point out what they don’t like. The way TNA are making a show right now is retarded, hence the guy pointing out that they are retarded. Nothing more.
Why do you always HAVE to be right anyway SharpShooter?
April 25th, 2008 at 6:28 pm
I don’t ALWAYS have to be right. It’s just my opinion. No hard feelings to Adit, but I was just saying what I
April 25th, 2008 at 6:30 pm
thought. Sometimes you do destroy them unfairly but I see where your coming from. Sorry if I was being an ass.
April 25th, 2008 at 6:42 pm
Thanks for all of the publicity…even though I don’t need it, it’s always welcomed!!!
TNA this week was a true clusterf*ck. This was probably their worst show in recent memory.
April 25th, 2008 at 6:43 pm
I don’t think you were being an ass,I read your comments every week and get the feeling you don’t like us Bloggers being too unfair.
I agree with you there, can’t hate a on a show just because we can. We’ve got to be fair.I’m glad you see that.
I enjoy everyone’s comments irrespective of whether they agree with me or not.
Guy and HK-47 - thanks dudes!
In any case what did you guys think of the wrestling on this week’s show?
April 25th, 2008 at 6:43 pm
Where the hell did you come from!
April 25th, 2008 at 6:44 pm
Man looks like yall could use some happy “trees”
Yeah thats the good stuff
April 25th, 2008 at 6:46 pm
That was for Luke (#21)
April 25th, 2008 at 6:47 pm
Motor City Machine Guns need a Cena (Push) asap. Everytime I see Angle vs Joe, its getting less and less good. Don’t get me wrong they both are very good wrestlers and both put on a good show. But this is like the 6th time these guys fought. This is getting like Batista vs Undertaker. Everytime they fight, its getting less and less entertaining.
April 25th, 2008 at 6:48 pm
Sorry #22
April 25th, 2008 at 6:49 pm
Sharp shooter-Oh man!I AGREE with you there ,the Guns need a desperate push.I am sick of watching them win only on TNA Today.
April 25th, 2008 at 7:57 pm
There are few guys who can go again and again and again (the exceptions being Angle vs. Benoit and Hart vs. Michaels) without it getting old. Undertaker vs. Batista was old before the world started existing.
The ‘Guns are the best tag team in professional wrestling today! So why the hell not have them job to Rhino and Christian Cage? …I could do such a better booking job. Blog comments is how most of their guys got their jobs anyway it seems. Imagine MCMG vs. Kendrick & London…JEEZUS I’m getting the Jehova’s Witnesses just thinking about it.
April 25th, 2008 at 9:19 pm
Adit, you must think I don’t look at the comment boards of the other blogs. That’s laughable. Whatelse is laughable is how you guys talk like I’m not even here. Another thing that’s laughable is making single comments to make your comment total go up. I guess if I had no interest in my blogs, I’d do the same thing.
HK, the best tag team in the business today is without a doubt is the Briscoe Brothers. But, Mark’s hurt now so they might not be considered the best. Back in the day, it used to be Aries & Strong and Castagnoli & Hero.
April 25th, 2008 at 9:39 pm
The reason why The Motor City Machineguns are not getting pushed is because they have backstage heat. I’ll type a free article up on this tomorrow if I can think of it. I covered it on WNW Premium a couple of weeks ago.
April 25th, 2008 at 9:39 pm
Getting back to the world of relevancy…
I was under the rimpression that the Deuces wild tournament was this: first 4 tag-teams qualify. Then at Sacrifice, 4 more teams are randomly put together. Then those eight teams will compete in a tournament of 7 matches (like KOR), with the winner being the tag champs. Doesn’t seem that difficult to me. I too was dissapointed that MCMG lost, but as long as LAX wins the final tournament, it’s all good.
And as for the womens match. Except for the shaving thing, it sounds cool. First a battle royal, and then a ladder match! When was the last time you saw female wrestlers in a ladder match?
And I laughed out loud when Cornette was snickering evily…
April 25th, 2008 at 9:41 pm
What do you mean by making single comments Luke?
April 25th, 2008 at 10:06 pm
Look at 9, 10, 13, 22, 24, and 26.
If you’re going to say something, bring something to the table. Don’t have a bunch of BS, one-liners trying to increase the number of comments.
I honestly think the Deuces Wild tournament is the biggest bunch of bullsh*t I’ve ever seen. Why not have the established teams go after the belts, without all the turmoil?
April 25th, 2008 at 10:15 pm
Last time I checked, the Blog Spot was a spot for people to give their reviews of the shows. Not a competition of who gets the most comments.
April 25th, 2008 at 10:23 pm
Oh ok, so the next time me, Adit, Anthony, or Chris trashes the hell out of a show, it’s ok, right?
As for the last line, there’s some people who think otherwise. Can’t tell you the number of e-mails I get with people thinking there’s a competition going on. Either way, I am king.
April 26th, 2008 at 2:37 am
What’s the deal with all the Pop up ad’s on this site? All of a sudden you get a pop up ad everytime you open a link. How come you have to do that on this site and not on most other wrestling sites?
April 26th, 2008 at 10:00 am
Get a pop-up blocker?
April 26th, 2008 at 10:29 am
Kurt Angle talks all this crap of how TNA does not have politics. That he will let anybody to go to the top with him. Listen, if I was Double J, I don’t care how big of asses MCMG are. If my business is doing pretty bad, and you have two guys who are excellent in ring workers but don’t have to many friends backstage, YOU CENA (Push) THEM!!!
April 26th, 2008 at 10:43 am
Or a Premium Account? Haha, honestly we do not have near as many ads as most professional wrestling websites. Plus none of our ads contain any malicious files as annoying as they may be. WNW Premium is a really good deal though. You get no ads and tons of bonus content for less than $6 a month.
As promised, here is the story on The Motor City Machineguns.
April 26th, 2008 at 12:53 pm
Man I go out and when I return the discussion seems to have gotten a lot more sour.
Luke- stop scaring my readers, they can make any no. of comments-1 line or otherwise. This is my blog. You can have it any way you want on yours.
Also I mistyped when I typed 24,I was talking with Sharpshooter and others when you suddenly popped up.That’s why I said “where the hell did you come from ?-#22″ but referred you to 21,that’s why you got pissed. So Lol.
Do you really think I’d blog if I had no interest in it?
That’s that.
Fudge-I’m still trying to understand the Deuces wild thing, but the bottom line is this:Would you buy sacrifice knowing the card could feature so many Tag-team matches?
And HK-the Briscoe’s are easily the best tag team today, just watch Man-up.Even Steen and Generico are cool but that’s just my opinion!
April 26th, 2008 at 5:03 pm
Don’t watch RoH. So let me rephrase that — the best tag teams that I know of.
April 27th, 2008 at 5:07 pm
First off, I didn’t really watch Impact last week, per se, because I was still trying to figure out this whole Deuces Wild format. Basically, all the shows this week that I’ve seen were, as Luke called it, clusterfucks. RAW: I’m still trying to figure out why in the hell they put Regal over. I understand that he’s put in a great amount to WWE, but then again, so has Mark Henry. ECW: Well, ECW was ECW. Nuff said. I haven’t watched SD!, yet. But after seeing all the other shows this week, my expectations aren’t too high. What they need to do is get rid of all the head writers, Hayes, Russo, and whoever does RAW, and listen to the fans for once. I realize that that will never, EEEEEEEEEVER, happen. But hell, everything else is tanking, so why not. Oh, and if anyone actually listens to this and submits an idea, NO FIRING CENA! I know it’s coming. Richard, the only problem I have with the Premium service is that you’re only logged in for 24 hrs.
April 27th, 2008 at 6:40 pm
Adit: I never buy any PPV’s becouse I live in The Netherlands, we don’t have any wrestling on Tv (except for some TNA PPV’s on Eurosport, 3 months later and not on any fixed schedule). I download my wrestling. So my treshold for vieweing anything is lower, the only thing I refuse to watch is ECW.
But I do think it’s to many tag matches, you are right about that.
Luke: If you don’t have anything relevant to say about the blog, don’t comment on it…
April 27th, 2008 at 6:58 pm
o boy r we havin fun or what? yo Sharpshooter… i like the way Adit does HIS Blog obviously 1,u are an a**/a**hole and 2 if u dont like whats said u are entitled to ur “opinion” but u know how that old sayin goes with those e1 has 1 and they usually stink but to each their own. if u dont like wuts said the by all means use 1 of 1 things 1 eithe when u c a good 1 enjoy or 2 if u c 1 u dont like i got a lil idea for ya try aly+F4 at the same time and i guarantee ur opinion of not only me and my thoughts and opinions but u will love what happens to ya trust me….Adit dont let em bother ya Keep up the GOOD WORK!

as for the comments about the booker/writers at TNA i can only say 1 small statement and will back it to the hilt…2 words that Vince lovesssssssss YOUR FIRED! fire em all or teach em how to friggin do the job.
this Deuces wild should be interesting even if its an old take thats ben done b4

April 27th, 2008 at 7:15 pm
Big D-I thought smackdown was good.
Fudge-Dude that totally sucks you get no ppv in the Netherlands.
