The stupidity is at times overwhelming. Here I was on the couch ready to watch a good show covering the Lockdown fallout. Instead TNA decides to give a loyal fan like me the generic bullshi* that we are so used to. Needless storylines trying to emulate the greatest soaps of our time. Maybe the point is to make sure that we stay riveted to watch the Russo factory spinning intricately laced storylines of woe and deception. Great stories highlighting human valor and all that is good or bad about the world.
Yeah right!
Opening statements: Lockdown was an awesome PPV. I enjoyed 85% of the show which I thought was very good. The highlights were of course the 2 main events. I did an appraisal of the show the past week which you can read at this link. I’d like to know what you guys thought as well.
Those TNA guys get on my nerves sometimes. My central nervous system is still trying to decode that which TNA calls entertainment. It’s a company that is adept at breaking that which is perfectly fine and then taking credit for fixing that which they broke in the first place.
For the 3rd damn time they’ve changed LAX’s music. I liked the renegade feel of the 1st two with the gunshot intro. Now they have some popped up version trying to please our eardrums with the restrained finesse of Mozart or Beethoven.LAX is one of the few homegrown TNA talents and I mean a really well made outfit.
They put a big guy and a small guy who can wrestle and can carry the gimmick beautifully. They make them champs twice and then bury them for a year. At Destination X I thought that making them # 1 contenders was proof that TNA had realized that they had done something stupid and wanted to make it right .But wait, this week all of that washed down the drain. First of all I don’t understand how the tag team title shot was not claimed by LAX.
Now we have them doing a 3 way with Styles/Tomko and Kaz /Eric for the titles. A pretty generic match that was watchable thanks to Kaz and AJ. Awesome Flux Capacitor from Kaz. EY disappearing meant Super Eric arrives. They win the belts but AJ appeals and I totally hated West and Tenay trying to make sense of that.
AJ has been spending too much time with the Angles, that crown seems to be cutting off the blood supply to his brain as a result of which his intellect is so twisted that he thinks Eric and Super Eric are two different people. Cornette appears and some stuff intended to be funny follows. “Commissioner Gordon”, etc, etc .The result ends up with the titles vacated for no apparent reason.
The good entertainment part of this show was the opening Joe promo. A very well cut dialogue with some cool lines. Steiner wasn’t that bad either. Angle does a good job too and enforces his rematch clause. Okay next week then.

Steiner awards the X Division title shot to Petey Pump who looks damn funny in the Viking head gear. I thought the X Division wasn’t about weight limits. It’s about no limits. Clearly not.TNA thinks the X title is too inferior to be held by Steiner .Petey made a huge sacrifice by wearing the head gear and shaving his head. He is thus rewarded with the X Division title case/shot by Steiner.
So does that mean if I walk around for 3 weeks with a muscular All-American and a scantily clad woman and cuff my hands, covering my face with a black bag and then get a haircut and wear a piece of Viking chain mail ,do I get an X Division title shot?
Hmmm-Maybe I should cross the line.
Machismo wrestles with Johnny Devine in a match that’s filled with slams, whips, couple of dropkicks and a moonsault. He finishes with the Lethal combo and lands the elbow to retain when Petey appears and does a Rated R beatdown and cashes in his title shot. Nails the Canadian destroyer. WINNER + new champ.
Clearly, TNA hates Sonjay Dutt.4 years in the company and not a single title. Maybe TNA wants only those Indians to hold the belt who are 7 feet tall and can say GWAHHHHH.
Some wrestling did happen in a good match between Team 3D against Christian and Rhino. Cage opens with Brother Ray. Lands an awesome cork screw elbow. Chops and punches and tags Rhino who cleans house allowing Cage to tuck in and nail an awesome flying cross body. The match continues with the testified Devon against Cage who sells the tired partner. Devon nails an awesome delayed vertical. Cage manages the hot tag to Rhino who nails 3D with a couple of Rhino moves.
Finish happens with Rhino mistakingly hitting Christian and Devon missing Rhino and nailing Ray. Rhino immediately goes for the roll up and gets the win. Oh wait this is TNA, Team 3D fight among themselves, security appears, I will be thrilled waiting for Rough Cut with Team 3D to happen!
P.S: What happened to weighing in under 275 lbs?
Queen of the cage Roxxi against Awesome Kong follows for the title. Roxxi holds her own with punches, fore arm shots and elbows but Kong is too big. Kong applied the camel clutch earlier and finishes later with the Awesome bomb from Awesome Kong. Another wasted title shot booked by TNA.
The show closed with TNA’s favorite main event-the 6 man tag match/war. Sting, Booker T and BG against Kip, Storm and Roode. Match opens with Kip and Booker. Few body shots and Roode tagged in. BG follows a few seconds’ later.BG- punches on members of the heel team. Tags exchange and its Storm against Booker who lands a couple of kicks and a spine buster. He goes for the Spin- A- Roony but that damn Robert Roode interrupts with a kick setting up the ref distraction.
Storm then gets nailed with the elevated bicycle kick from Matt Morgan. Sorry about his damn luck. Booker is pissed but gets the victory with a pin of a scissors kick.
Argument between him and the other guys. He apparently didn’t like Morgan’s interference. Sting is a bad man because he allowed Morgan to interfere. Booker then challenges Sting next week, Tenay goes crazy.
You dig.
Here’s the Impactor mini:
GOOD: Cage/Rhino against Team 3D.Roxxi against Kong. The opening Joe/Steiner/Angle promo.
SUPER STUPID: EVERYTHING ELSE.

Why do you even bother covering TNA each week if all you do is crap on most of it?
You must have also forgotten that at Destination X Team 3D made weight and therefore did not have to be weighed in any longer.

I’m glad you’re crossing the line and seeing the light. The tag title stuff is the biggest bunch of bullsh*t I’ve ever seen in my life. Sorry to be a spoiler but why not let the teams compete for them instead of this random-partner-Deuces wild BS? I feel like an idiot to call myself a TNA fan because of the BS we see each week. The random X title change was BS. Why devalue a title just days after the PPV? It’s not like Petey held that case for a while, then came out after a PPV match to cash it in. This may sound harsh but anybody who tries to defend TNA and this BS should be Superkicked on the spot!
April 18th, 2008 at 12:31 pm
‘Seeing the light’-Rev.Luke?
You know they’ve done 3 title changes in less than a week with 2 of them being on tv.That stuff must happen only on PPV unless it’s an emergency like Hardy’s suspension.
I was damn sure that Dutt would win the Xcape match.Even though I liked the match and the finish I hate the fact that they keep on denying him the belt.I thought with all the Machismo/Val date stuff that’s how it would go instead they have him eliminated first.
A lot of guys were thrilled after Lockdown,I’m pretty sure this show will do a higher rating than last week only for them to realize that it’s better not to watch and get their hopes up.
April 18th, 2008 at 1:06 pm
That’s the point. I’m not used to watch TNA, but I was interested in Lockdown, watched it and I think it really delivered. So many people including me watch the following Impact to see how the storylines develop and all we get is something like…this? You can blame WWE as much as you want, but I really think that they outbook TNA by miles.
April 18th, 2008 at 1:35 pm
ha ha, if adit and luke agree, then the show must have really sucked.i’ll have to see the replay coz i had 2 work.
ps-lockdown kicked butt.

See TNA has one disease Vince Russoitis. Here’s a link to a video where a guy spits the truth. I’m pure WWE and I think that TNA has potentil but if they dont get higher then a 1.3 this week it’s going to be all downhill. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXs89n1OtCE
April 18th, 2008 at 3:01 pm
Thanks a lot! for the link.
It’s been discussed a billion times that Russo comes up with stupid ideas and I agree but in TNA there are 3 guys doing the writing plus it’s upto the bosses to approve all that Russo and gang come up with.
I don’t understand why they can’t see between something stupid and intelligent.
Nonetheless, that guy in the vid held Russo responsible for Owen Hart’s death. That’s B.S.
April 18th, 2008 at 3:13 pm
Yeah that is B.S. Nontheless still why would they change Owen Hart to….. that.

Hey guys, I’m curious about something. I don’t follow TNA, didn’t see Lockdown, didn’t watch the Impact last night… but in true TNA fashion it seems more like they were mocking WWE’s money in the bank title. And if I recall correctly, Edge cashed in on ‘Taker on Smackdown, not a PPV…
So what’s wrong? It sounds like they booked it EXACTLY as WWE books it. Indeed, I think we were ALL holding our breaths as to whether Kennedy might score MITB this year, and do as he threatened and cash it in immediately. Would you react just as violently to that storyline as to this one?
…Or is it just the fact that TNA seems to have a fetish for mocking WWE at every turn, and as a result get devalued as a comedy show rather than a serious pro-wrestling program?
April 18th, 2008 at 4:24 pm
The Impact rating is in (from Gerweck.net)……
1.0
Yes, again.
April 18th, 2008 at 4:25 pm
TNA’s Creative Division is now at the same level as WCW were in its last months of existence. What’s next, Fingerpoke of Doom redux — Shark Boy doing one move on Samoa Joe and becoming the champ? Seriously, I’ve seen better storylines on HEAT.
TNA have the goods, wrestling-wise, to compete with WWE, even to beat them at that specific point of a wrestling show. However, with their erratic and downright retarded storylines at times, it’s too much bad for me to able to actually watch it. When, or if Creative ever fire Russo, they let go of mocking WWE and especially never have another media interview where Kurt Angle speaks again to make TNA look like a bunch of assholes, TNA can really start competing at the same level as WWE. I’d like to see another wrestling promotion wars.
I didn’t watch iMPACT! though. Not gonna use my already dangerous XWT.net seeding ratio (due to my crap 5kb upload speed) on something I might not possibly enjoy.

Sorry for the double post, but the grammar in my above post make me seem like a 10 year old on crystal meth and caffeine. Don’t mistake me for one.
April 18th, 2008 at 4:52 pm
1.0. Thier doing bad. I wouldnt be surprised if we get below 1.0 soon. It’s not going to fail anytime soon though.
April 18th, 2008 at 6:04 pm
The second time around, Edge cashed it in on Smackdown and it was totally unexpected. The first time, he cashed it in after the Elimination Chamber match at New Year’s Revolution. RVD’s led to a title match at One Night Stand.
Shark Boy imitates Stone Cold
Jay Lethal imitates Macho Man
Eric Young imitates Mr. America/Blue Blazer
I mean, what the f*ck!? It’s hard to believe the same creative staff that gave us great buildup for Joe-Angle at Lockdown is the same crew that put everything else together. Lockdown was good but it wasn’t as great as people are making it out to be.
April 18th, 2008 at 6:15 pm
They are exactly like WCW. Pay attention to the main event only and go to hell everyone else
April 18th, 2008 at 8:49 pm
You know what’s funny is that if you watcht this video, http://youtube.com/watch?v=mFq6KDaAt7w, Kurt Angle talks about how TNA is doing good and they will eventually be beating WWE in ratings. Now, let’s think about this for a second. Right now, WWE is doing ok. They are no where near as good as what they could be. If TNA’s best show can’t beat WWE’s ok of a show, what makes Kurt or any other TNA fan or worker think that they are going to be better than WWE.
I personally watched Impact this thursday, and I changed it after Big Poppa Pump came out. I thought Samoa Joe was reading off the TV monitor because that promo was awful. The respect, honor, and blood on my fists Bull$h!t was rediculously fake. You could tell by his voice. It sounded like he didn’t want to be there.
The Tag Team champ. was stupid. Everything was just stupid. Whoever stated earlier about TNA copying WWE, where in the hell have you been? TNA has been copying WWE for over a year and a half. They are to retarted to make their own storylines.
Jay Lethal, Shark Boy, and Eric Young should never be champions. I don’t care how good you wrestle, if you copy a former wrestler’s character, that says that you are to slow to think of your own. That says that those guys have to copy there way to the top. If those guys want to make it big, BE YOUR GOD DAMN SELF!
In conclusion, TNA is just another episod of Friends, Boring, Rediculous, and Pointless.

WoW-things have really gotten heated up!
Ray-I think you don’t read my blogs regularly,I don’t crap on TNA all the time just when they do the stupid things like this week.Check out my other posts at the Blog spot archive.
Also,I remember that After Destination X Team 3D didn’t have to make weight after doing so at Destination x ,so you’re right.I meant why aren’t they trying to get their weights down, I know for a fact that they weighed a lot less earlier.Maybe I should have specified that.
Chris-Thanks!
Anthony-That rating needs to go up by at least 50-80% if they want to be a threat to the WWE otherwise it’s just not even worth considering.
Databoy2k-No TNA don’t copy exactly all that the WWE does, they’re just as we say ‘heavily inspired’.
My problem isn’t with Petey holding the belt,he’s a good champion but with the fact that Steiner surrendered it because TNA thinks he’s too big to hold that belt. That’s my protest ,they’re making the belt look sub-standard.
Hk-47:I am just really sick of Kurt Angle talking BS on TV,even though he’s my favorite wrestler. He needs to get more real, damn real.
Sharpshooter-Thanks for the link!
Machismo sells a lot of merchandise for them so they won’t get rid of that gimmick.
No matter what we think Sharkboy(who I like) and Eric are way way over,so till that changes they won’t get rid of those gimmicks but they do go overboard with the funny bits way too many times.
April 19th, 2008 at 8:47 am
P.S:HK-47,the grammar is absolutely fine, spelling don’t matter as much as language.
Also,a 5 kb upload is absolutely shi*ty,get a new connection!
April 19th, 2008 at 7:37 pm
Whoa, this is not too good, but it would be interesting if all of the sudden Rhoode gets scissor kicked to the head, and then started acting like Eugene, an start calling Booker “Uncle Booker” XD Anywho, Samoa Joe was an X-Division champ, and Jeff hardy isn’t exactly a light weight and when he was first introduced back then he took on AJ for the belt, but hey, if WWE isn’t even logical anymore these days, what to do with TNA as it is now, with the hit and miss they’ve been doing for a while now? =s
April 20th, 2008 at 6:45 am
Uncle Booker…LOL
April 21st, 2008 at 5:45 pm
Ok here is my two cents.
1. TNA in my opinion does have the talent to compete with WWE, they are just so badly used. Take someone like AJ Styles 2-3 time World Champ, now acting like a mid-card comedy act. Personally I think Styles is one of the best pure wrestlers in the business today and could put on a hell of a program with Joe.
2.And I hate to drink the kool-aid but the feuds that we have seen in WWE being done again is retarted. NO ONE CARES ABOUT KIP AND BG JAMES!! 6 years ago they were awesome now, who the hell cares. Let them go, replace there feud with real teams trying to get the tag titles not random pairings of people who no one likes, Rellik and BlackGoldReignDustCrap perfect example. Let MCMG and LAX feud for the belts, that is what people want to see.
Personally I would love to see TNA rise up and crush Vince and company, but given the sophmore humor and just horrible booking, I do not know if it is possible, thank god they have the best Women’s Division ever, becuase they have killed the X Division which use to be one of the main attraction’s now is simply a footnote in thier confusing and (hopefully I am wrong) short history.

I agree!
