Chaos At Raw As Set Catches On Fire

A pyrotechnic malfunction occurred during a test prior to this week’s Raw taping from the US Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio. The malfunction caught the set on fire and the building had to be evacuated.

The doors were not reopened until just after 7:15 PM EDT. Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler opened the show live on the USA Network, recapping the chaos and showing footage of the fire.

Looks like it’s gonna be a hot show…. That was a bad pun, I know.

Possible omen to the next 1000 episodes of RAW? /sarcasm

So was it real or fake to build the show?

    • Kleck

I doubt they would destroy their set with fire to build a show with people that were already there. If anything, people would be PO’ed they were evacuated and left only a half hour to return for the show.

    Its all Kane’s fault….

Exactly what I was thinking haha, looks like RAW has embraced the hate.

I was there tonight…the fire was legit. We were scrambling to get to our seats by the time the dark match began (Ryder vs Rhodes). Great show though, despite the lack of pyro

it was DEFinitely not fake, actually only a handful of people were inside the arena.. i had just walked from the parking lot and seen all the people milling around outside the arena, which is adjacent to the great american ballpark, which funny enough was hosting a cincy Reds game at 7:10 so there were THOuSAnDS if people just standing around between both arena and stadium talking about how all the fireworks went off at the same time by accident and started a fire on the stage, and the fire dept had to clear the building, and determine if it was safe enough to proceed…we were let in around 720, and the gimmick tables were crazy busy so most folks missed the superstars match between ryder/rhodes as they were either at one of two gimmick tables, still filing in the building, or at consessions. i wanna watch superstars just to see how empty the building was for the match. in no way shape or form, should any company pretend fire or accidents or any type of chaos, as us bank was formerly known as Riverfront Coliseum, where many many people died from festival seating yrs ago during a WHO concert.

It was real. I was walking to my seat when the pyros went off and the set was on fire when we got in. They let us sit there for about 5 minutes and then made us evacuate. It was fun! haha
