Chavo Guerrero Takes A Shot At John Cena

FOX News Latino has a new interview online with Chavo Guerrero. In it, he takes a jab at John Cena. Below is an excerpt:

FNL: You’re 40 years old now. How long are you going to keep going?

Guerrero: In the wrestling business, you know, you really don’t know what you’re doing ‘til about seven, eight years in. You look back to the way wrestling used to be — you didn’t even make it to the big time until you were ten years in minimum. Now you’re in the business for six months or a year and they come in the ring and they’re getting shots at big time. And if you see the wrestling , especially at the other place, you can tell. I won’t even watch that program because it’s bad. The wrestling is so bad.

If he can’t wrestle, then he can’t wrestle, you know? Very, very few and far between do we get a Triple H or a Rey Mysterio, a Randy Orton. That doesn’t happen too much anymore. It’s very few and far between. You can tell who’s making John Cena look good.

Wow, pathetic, why is he so bitter? Oh yeah, because he’s boring and could never get over, that’s right.

  • The Breaker

Chavito is a solid worker. That said, I think he’s a bit jealous. Why else would he trash the company that is mainly responsible for putting him over in the first place?

Shame to see Chavo so damn bitter over nothing. I won’t deny he has a point, Cena isn’t the best wrestler around, but he’s definitely able to get over and if you put him in there with solid guys like his match with Punk recently, he really pushes it. It’s just a shame he can’t really carry the match himself with his wrestling.

Yes he can. He usually carries his opponents’ control over him (he calls what they do). Most of his matches are carried by him, unless it’s against top tier workers like Punk, Orton, HHH, etc. in which case they call it together. You can actually hear him call a lot of the time – THAT is his fault, but I can’t imagine how can people say he can’t carry matches when the one thing he does badly is HIDE the fact that he calls his matches.

      • Xavier

Agreed. Cena has been calling matches for years. Cena never gets the credit he deserves for carrying some of his opponents (Lashley, Umaga, Swagger, Big Show etc etc) too very good to great matches. This whole claim that Cena can’t wrestle is a myth made up by bitter Cena haters. I’ll take Cena’s best in ring matches over Chavo’s everyday of the week.

  • Dangerous Lee

There’s only one way to settle this. Cena vs. Chavo in a 2 hour iron man match. Whoever blows up first loses.

  • H.M.

Some of these comments crack me up.

Why do you THINK he’d be bitter? Did he really just flop or was he just not given a shot? He was used as nothing but comic relief in the years after Eddie’s death minus his feud with Rey Mysterio and his brief run with the *ECW* title. The fact that he had to job to that wretched Hornswoggle over and over again, discredited his entire career. He’s got talent and he got over with the fans; WWE screwed him over. That being said, yeah some of the stuff he’s saying is definitely not warranted, but if you want to hate on him for being bitter, go for it. Just know that it was most likely justified bitterness. The company kicked him to the curb without giving him much chance to show his abilities.

    • Xavier

Chavo didn’t get a chance at the top of the card b/c he wasn’t good enough. Plain & simple. Chavo couldn’t carry Cena’s jock strap. When’s the last time Chavo had a great match or cut a halfway decent promo? Dude is hating

  • Code

Chavo’s repetitive shots at Cena is kinda pathetic…i bet if chavo made it to the top like cena did he would be keeping is mouth shut

  • http://www.facebook.com/bill.krow.7 Bill Krow

Holds a grudge? maybe its the business, but I completely agree that the wrestling had gotten pretty bad

  • http://www.facebook.com/akacamel8806 Sam A. Melara

so since he doesn’t watch that program anymore i take it he missed out on a Match of the Year candidate between CM Punk and John Cena on Raw

  • JJ

If you actually read the article he doesn’t bash Cena, he’s talking about the guys that go against him. And as for Cena calling matches for years, he does it because either his oppenents don’t know how to properly or they’re so awestruck by facing the face of the company they freeze up and he has to carry them.

    • Kris Mystery

“You can tell who’s making John Cena look good.” Sounds to me like he is saying Cena needs help to look good… which (like him or hate him) is simply not true. Cena has had some very good matches. Even his worst matches are half decent.

  • Khalkaroth

Stop defending Cena. The wrestling business would be a whole lot more better without him in it. The only reason he is their top star is because of the stupidity and ignorance of the people that watch WWE. Stop watching this soap opera, please…
