Chavo Guerrero Talks Crucial Time For TNA, Jeremy Borash On John Boy And Billy

Chavo Talks Crucial Time for TNA

Scott Fishman of The Miami Herald has a new article online featuring quotes from Chavo Guerrero. In it, Chavo talks about now being a crucial time for TNA Wrestling. Below is an excerpt:

“When TNA went live, it was either going to take off or it was not going to take off,” Guerrero said. “It’s a crucial time right now in TNA, and I really hope it takes off because it’s better for the business, better for the wrestlers, better for the fans, better for everybody. They got the right players in place, but they have to tweak it all…You can’t beat our wrestlers. Our roster is incredible.

“The wresters, we are all doing our part. We are all trying. You can only do so much.”

TNA’s issue has nothing to do with the wrestlers or whether or not they tape or go live. Their issues are purely promotional; John Q. Public doesn’t know TNA exists. Spike isn’t helping matter as they appear only to be interested in them as a promotional tool for Bellator if last night is any indication. They’re going to have to figure out some new marketing methods to get TNA’s name out there if they expect to succeed.

I do not know if anyone else has noticed, but I have seen numerous advertisements for WWE PPV’s and merchandise on Spike TV. Maybe I am a bit naïve, but I believe that if a network is airing one company’s wrestling program, that network should not be airing advertisements for a different company’s wrestling program. It seems to me to be a conflict of interest. I have yet to see a TNA advertisement on the USA or SyFy networks.
