Christian Back To TNA?, Ryback As WWE Champion, WWE In 3D, Thoughts On WWE Main Event

With Christian going to TNA’s Bound For Glory PPV next Sunday and the fact that Christian hasn’t been used in WWE lately, is there a possibility of Christian returning to TNA?

As we first reported here on WrestlingNewsWorld.com Premium, Vince McMahon issued a directive in August that Christian was not to be prominently featured on WWE TV until after he had fulfilled his commitment with TNA Wrestling. While out, Christian underwent some type of outpatient surgical procedure and the news was leaked out so TNA couldn’t accuse WWE of acting in bad faith. Monday morning word leaked out the scheduled appearance was in doubt. As for Christian returning to TNA, he is under WWE contract and didn’t want to make the “tradeoff appearances” in the first place. I’m not saying he dislikes TNA but from everything I’ve heard, he’s happy in WWE.

Do you see Ryback as WWE Champion?

While Ryback seems to be turning the corner as a viable main eventer, he’s not ready to be WWE Champion. If he is added to John Cena vs. CM Punk [at Hell in a Cell] there are ways to utilize him, however, if he replaces Cena, it turns into a booking nightmare. The WWE Championship match at Hell in a Cell will likely be announced on this week’s Raw.

Does the WWE plan on testing out any 3D broadcasting in the near future?

WWE surveyed fans about 3D programming a couple years ago and were preparing to move forward, however, plans were halted with recent data that showed a slowdown in demand for 3D television. 3D is where HD was around 10 years ago in that it is available but not widely consumed. Should that change, and I expect it will, WWE will likely pursue plans to move forward. Right now, the majority of efforts are being spent on Vince McMahon’s dream of the WWE Network.

Will WWE ever understand quality over quantity? I feel like WWE Main Event is going to end up just like WWE Superstars. Your thoughts?

The main event of last week’s WWE Main Event was WWE Champion CM Punk vs. World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus. This week’s main event is Randy Orton vs. Big Show. Not to sound condescending but those don’t exactly sound like WWE Superstars matches. I understand what you are saying in that WWE starts shows out with strong cards as WWE Superstars started strong before becoming the forgettable broadcast it is today. However, we can’t say WWE Main Event is “just like WWE Superstars” until it becomes less than what it is.

Hey Richard any news on when Saturday morning slam and wwe main event will be broadcast in the uk

  • Jmann

First episode of superstars had undertaker and jericho on it

    • Richard Gray

Which is why I wrote… "I understand what you are saying in that WWE starts shows out with strong cards as WWE Superstars started strong"

My point is readers want to criticize something before there is anything to criticize. Right now, WWE Main Event isn't a forgettable show. History shows it could evolve into one, however, it's far too early to assume. Same goes with new gimmicks, character revamps, etc.

      • Adam

I would disagree with your point that people are starting to criticize before there is anything to criticize. Most people are currently criticizing WWE for expanding Raw to 3 hours, as this is creating a weaker product. If this is one of the biggest criticisms of WWE right now, I argue that the addition of WWE Main Event is just an extension of that same criticism: the WWE creating more programming without enough quality content to fill their air time

  • Thumpa

I was gonba say that the first Superstars had Undertaker but someone beat me to it! I cannot wait to see Yoshi Tatsu vs Heath Slater on Main Event in a few months…

  • Brandon

Pretty simple way to get Ryback over. Cena vs Punk at HIAC as Cena is about to walk out the door Heyman gets involved slams the door shut. Ryback comes out and chases Heyman off. Super Cena hits the AA on Punk out of nowhere gets ready to win and Ryback destroys Cena and joins Punk and Heyman.

Give Cena time off to “recover” and come back to feud with Ryback

    • nite

      oh i like this scenario:)

    • outkazt09

That would not work. All of sudden punk and ryback are friends?

      • Ego Trip

Have you actually seen Ryback in a physical altercation with Punk. No we haven't

It could work but it would be a stretch as Cena might be a little too vulnerable physically to work with Ryback due to his lack of experience and style.

      • simbasamba

There are things called swerves. If everything was predictable and flowed exactly how we foresaw it, the show would be stale and boring to watch.

        • MonsterMike42

The show is kinda stale and boring to watch.

    • Robert olley

But you forget this wwe and your plan is logical which doesn’t exist in the wwe world.

  • Mike L

I'll Say this again, I want to see the Undertaker's Wrestlemania Entrance in 3D!

  • Jason

wwe superstars started strong but ended up being a show with low class mid carders no one cares about No one can say otherwise because if that wasnt the case wwe superstars would of gained the ratings needed to stay on national television

saturday morning slam is the same thing its going to end up like the last saturday show wwe put on.

now the bases of wwe main event should feature main event stars and should remain that way because if it ends up going down to low mid carders no one cares about again that show is going to be a loss cause like NXT

    • Mario

I don`t agree about your opinion of NXT . To me it`s a great minor league of WWE where we can witness a lot of promising wrestlers throughout their evolution . A decent number of them are really impressive and reassure me about the future of the major league .

  • BigMike

whenever WWE has a new show it puts its "best foot forward" at the beginning Look at Sunday night heat. It was a very rare when more than one uppermid carder or a main eventer was on that show(( one NOTABLE exception was HHH when he would show up )) then they turn to crap ..as for Ryback, I have liked Ryan since he was on Tough Enough and back in OVW when he was "Silverback" Ryan Reeves, he has ability more than he has shown AND he is now over with the fans but I do not like him going against Punk for the title; I do not see Punk losing to Ryback and this would be a sucky way of giving him his first loss, no matter how they make a screw job out of it

  • RobUK

Funny… I hear a lot from fans on here wanting WWE to expand the mid card and create more mid card story lines, yet when a programme is deadicated to that (all be it badly) no one watches… And no one will watch when ‘main event’ goes the same way.
I agree with a previous comment – WWE should focus on getting its ratings back up on Raw and even greater ratings on Smackdown for that matter instead of creating more programmes that even less viewers will watch.

    • H.M.

Because these programs don`t build mid-card storylines. The undercard still sucks due to the lack of depth it has. You don`t need 5 different shows to have an effective mid-card and undercard.

  • Ricky Valdez

Ryback as wwe champion? No please no, has a long way to go if that ever happens.

  • Synyster

I like Ryback but if he’s going to be in a title feud put him against The Miz or Antonio Cesearo. Ryback VS Cesearo would actually be a good feud to build them both up.
