Christian Unhappy With TNA Appearance?, Does Karen Jarrett Have A Point About Jeff & The TNA Hall Of Fame?, A Lighter WWE Schedule, Matt Morgan Update

Richard Gray June 11, 2012 Ask WNW 17 Comments

I heard Christian wasn’t happy about appearing at TNA Slammiversary on Sunday. Is that true?

TNA and WWE worked out a deal that in exchange for letting Ric Flair (a contracted TNA worker) appear for WWE at the Hall of Fame Ceremony and Wrestlemania, WWE would let one of their contracted workers appear on TNA programming. I don’t know what the selection process was like but Christian ended up being decided upon and the deal was obviously in place prior to the lawsuit drama. I could see why Christian would be reluctant to appear, given how long it took him to force Vince McMahon to pay attention to him in the first place, but it’s not like he was forced to appear either.

Does Karen Jarrett have a point about Jeff Jarrett not being the first induction into the TNA Hall of Fame?

The TNA Hall of Fame is a work just like the WWE Hall of Fame. They are not legitimate places of glory (although being inducted is still an honor) but rather events that help promote pay-per-view buys and spark interest. From TNA’s standpoint, who draws more? – Jeff Jarrett or Sting? Jeff and his father did a great job in founding TNA and giving people another place to work but when he lost majority ownership, he also lost a lot of influence. He had hung on until recently but now things do not appear good with the political influence of Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff at an all-time high.

Given all of the recent injuries in WWE do you see the company going to a lighter schedule?

This comes up a lot because workers get injured a lot, however, I just don’t see how it’s possible. There is so much money on the line that working a lighter schedule would cause the company to make less money. Vince McMahon’s mentality is “next guy up” and that once someone is plugged into the WWE machine, they can become a huge draw. We can debate it all day long but the fact of the matter is there is simply too much money at stake.

What’s the latest on Matt Morgan? Could he still end up in WWE?

Matt Morgan is officially advertised for TNA live events this weekend in matches against Crimson on June 14th in Belton, Texas and June 16th in Houston, Texas. Morgan recently said his contract with TNA was up in October so it would appear he’s being used until then. As for him returning to WWE it’s possible and something Morgan recently said he would not rule out.

WWE should realize that pushing their top stars too hard will cost them a lot more than they think, since their on a tight budget.

  • Lenny

I thought that Christian appearing at Slammiversary was really cool ad bright back some nostalgia. Obviously now he’s gonna be
Kept off tv for at least a week or two until his appearance buzz dies down and will be brought back and burried (probably) by losing the IC belt to Cody or something. I hope Christian goes back to TNA, no use for him to be there in WWE anymore since Edge isnt there either. #ChristianCageTNAReturn!

    • Ryder

I dont know why people keep saying Christian is gonna get buried. He was part of the deal WWE and TNA made back in April that's it he's not returning to TNA and he's not getting buried.

      • dddddd

well hes already buried when he won the ic title. world champ for 1 week, turns into crybaby, now wins ic title as an audible. any former world champion is buried imo when they revert them down to secondary titles(even tho fans still love him). especially since they mean NOTHING now.

        • rabid.wolverine

putting christian in the middle of the IC scene just brings back some importance to the IC title which was long lost. Actually none of the titles have the importance and respect they should have. they are just used as props for storylines…

  • bobcavic

How’d that ‘next man up’ thing work out for ya with Sin Cara??

  • jdl

I can see why Christian might be a little miffed about it, but on the same note I don't really see why TNA would even pick him. Sure, he worked for them for a few years, but it's not like they treated him all that great once Angle and other stars showed up. He was one of the first big names to jump over, and one of the first big names to get lost in the shuffle once TNA started hiring WWE washouts.

    • robert

ya angle isn't a wwe washout so you need to not have Angle in the sentence with people like jeff hardy. kurt angle the best wrestler ever to lace em up period. and i'm a big wwe fan so not a tna mark i just watch what is good,

      • Chris B

Angle was fired from WWE for his pain pill addiction. He is a good wrestler but don’t forget the truth behind his move to TNA.
Bring back Jarrett and the TNA of old. Get rid of Hogan. I much preferred the older faster version of TNA.

    • dddddd

maybe because they knew christian was on his way out when angle came.

  • robert

Kurt angle should be the next person put in the hall of fame, the better put jj in the tna haf cause he has no chance in the wwe hof

  • havoc525

They should have lobbied for a larger name, at least get some bigger publicity out of it.

  • Steve l

I think the JJ snub could be used as an angle to bring him back to feud with Sting.

    • dddddd

now why would we want that fued when tna tv and ppv is finally good on a steady basis.. much better than the 3hr raw snoozfest last night

  • Alex P

I'm all for a Matt Morgan WWE return as long as there is no horrible stuttering gimmick

  • craig

If Morgan's return is anything like the hype, and then results, a bunch of people gave Tensai then no thanks.

  • Kevin

The only way a Matt Morgan return to WWE would work is if they brought him in as a monster heel. He could very well be the next Kane. But they shouldn't try to hide who he is like they have Tensai/Albert/ATrain. Just use him as Matt Morgan and let him do what he does best: destroy people.
