CM Punk Calls Raw Match “Garbage,” Says He’s Sick Of Traveling

CM Punk continues to draw attention with some of his posts on Twitter. When a fan put him over for his match against Seth Rollins on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, Punk called it garbage. Earlier in the day, he Tweeted that he’s sick of traveling. The following is from Twitter:

There are still plans for Punk to work in the top of card again this year.

I actually thought the most news worthy of his recent tweets was one after the Detroit house show not long ago where he said something along the lines of, “Thanks Detroit, don’t have a lot of those left in me.”

  • AJ Punk

It wasn’t Roman Reigns he faced. He faced Seth Rollins

    • http://www.wrestlingnewsworld.com/ Kendra Bunyon

      Yeah, typo. All fixed.

  • Mike McCarthy

CM Punk should just call it quits, I’d miss the hell out of him but it’s not worth it if he’s as miserable as he’s made it seem.

    • Gary Robert

“I’m sick of traveling,” has you thinking he’s MISERABLE? Jesus H. Christ. You guys are hilarious.

      • Nostaljack

He’s certainly not doing “the dance of joy.” I doubt he’s ready to end his life. The written word is a dangerous thing. Here’s hoping he doesn’t find out how dangerous.

      • Mike McCarthy

How about you watch the documentary where he talks about how much he hated working for WWE, idiot.

        • Gary Robert

I did. It sits on my shelf, actually. He doesn’t like the backstage politics and the backstabbing nature of the WWE corporation but he loves wrestling. That being said, HE said he hates traveling…YOU said he was miserable, not him, idiot..

          • Mike McCarthy

you can literally quote him in saying it, when he was asked why he wanted to leave he said he hated traveling, if miserable wasn’t the exact word he used then GOD STRIKE ME DOWN!!! You trolls are so damn annoying.

  • Justin

I can’t stand people who talk shit but yet take the paycheck don’t want to be here fine leave let someone else who wants take your place

  • Nostaljack

    If Dolph Ziggler posted this…

    • Xavier

It’s CM Punk though so everyone will turn a blind eye to it and try to justify him crying & complaining on tweeter.

      • Nostaljack

        Yes, yes we would…LOL!

  • Jasont2300

My favorite wrestler needs to keep quite, dont want him getting heat, i need him to be champ again in early 2014

  • Xavier

Way to bury Seth Rollins on social media Punk. People always get on me about my criticism of Punk but stuff like this is why I often criticize him, it’s his attitude most of the time I can’t stand. If he doesn’t like what he does for a living then he should step aside, retire and make room for someone who actually wants to be there b/c their all a ton of guys in the back who would love to be in Punk’s position and would be grateful for it as well.

    • Ben

Even as a huge fan of Punk’s work I have to agree. This is especially bad because it seems like WWE is trying to push Rollins forward a bit- or at least it seems that way with matches against Cena and Punk on consecutive TVs- and he just buries the match entirely. I’ve defended Punk in the past because while he does complain at times he also hasn’t hesitated to put people over, granted mostly outside the ring. This just makes Rollins sound like crap… pretty sad behavior on Punk’s part.

      • Gary Robert

If WWE is/wants to push Rollins…this doesn’t effect him in the least. You think Vince and Triple H read Punk’s Twitter and say “Oh, damn….push is over.” That being said, Rollins just had, what I called a PPV type match with Cena the week before.

    • Gary Robert

He never said he doesn’t like what he does…he said he’s sick of traveling. Put more words in someones mouth. Watching the responses to some of these things and they way you clowns blow it all out of proportion is hilarious. As for his match…he was right and he simply knows it. As I wrote somewhere else, way too many blown spots and sloppy ring work for those two.

      • Xavier

You’re the only clown on this forum. Maybe Punk was garbage that night but Seth Rollins did his part. Keep defending all the dumb s*** Punk says on social media if you want but it only serves too make you look like a CM Punk groupie and nothing more

        • Tim

Dude they travel a billion miles a year anyone in the world would get sick of that. And for speaking his mind it’s great to have someone speak their mind instead of just holding everything back.

        • Patrick

Tim is right ANYONE would get sick and tired of traveling 365 days a year (more or less) and They would have right to complain. who in their right mind is going to be happy about traveling back and forth across the country or even over seas all the time.

Punk or anyone has a right to speak their mind you want them to pretend they are happy when they are not?

It doesn’t mean he hates wrestling.

Look at Lesner he left WWE the first time because he hated the Travel schedule. which is why he shows up once in a while this time around.

          • Xavier

Didn’t Punk just get extended time off back in late Spring/early Summer to recharge and rest?

          • Gary Robert

So, because he was given some extra weeks off to heal from numerous bodily injuries, does this mean he should now enjoy traveling every day of his life now that he’s back? I’m sure, like pretty much the majority of the roster, he loves the business and hates the travel. I can’t see many, if any, enjoying that travel lifestyle. I drive 20 minutes to work each day…and I fcukin’ hate it, and its only twenty minutes. Imagine what they go through.

          • Xavier

Extra weeks? That man got over two months off. That’s more then most of the roster gets unless they require some type of major surgery. Oh and BTW, I worked on a oil rig in North Dakota for over 3 years while living in Texas and traveled back & forth a lot but I never cried about it on twitter or facebook because no one put a gun to my head and forced me to choose that career path, I chose it for myself. The money and benefits were really good and I was thankful to have such a good paying job in such a horrible economy. To this day I still work on the rigs, a little closer to home now but I still spend extended time away from family but you won’t see me on social media complaining about it and there are members on WNW who are friends with me on FB who can back up my claim.

          • Gary Robert

And do you know who would have cared HAD you done it? NO ONE…because it doesn’t matter. That’s the point. Only goofs, like yourself on the Internet who just have a need/want to make a big deal over every nickel and dime thing they read, seem to give a sh*t that he said it. No offense.

          • Xavier

Well no one would of cared because I’m not a famous wrestler who makes millions. Complaining about a job where you make millions doesn’t sit well with people who MAN up and go to work for far less who don’t complain. Seems like your making a big deal over this as well since you felt the need to comment on every post in which you didn’t agree with. Guess that makes you the bigger goof

          • Gary Robert

He didn’t complain about the job. You keep adding your own interpretations to three words. He simply stated he hates traveling. I’m not making a big deal of HIS post, HIS post was absolutely meaningless to me, as it should be to everyone, I’m more blown away by your thought process which is why I’m still wasting my time with you.

          • Gary Robert

I mean, seriously…Jesus Christ…look at your OWN response to his 3 little words. You wrote a paragraph bashing him and saying he should retire if he hates it so much. All he said was he “hates traveling.” Lol, who cares? I read the article Richard posted, or whatever it was showing the Twitter picture and I shrugged and kept scrolling down to find something with actual meaning. I’m only talking about it now because I’m blown away by so many people, yourself included, on how much you blow things up for no real reason.

        • EricDraven86

So if Gary is a Punk groupie for defending things Punk says, what does that make you on the subjects of Punk or Austin? You comment on every article that mentions Austin about how horrible of a person he is, and similar stats for Punk.

          • Xavier

It makes me a realist who calls it like it is, that’s what it makes me to answer your question. Anything else you wanna ask?

          • Gary Robert

Let me understand this…so, because you choose to comment on every Punk and/or Austin article and chime in about how either are horrible people (your opinion, fyi) that makes you a “realist?”

          • Xavier

I am realist because I call it like it is, and I don’t comment on every article about Punk or Austin. It’s funny that you are so quick too defend Punk and yet they’re a lot of Punk fans who agree with my comments on here concerning this topic. Oh and when have I ever said Punk was a horrible person?

        • Gary Robert

I’m not a “Punk groupie,” I’m an intelligent fan of the entire business…unfortunately. I also don’t post solely about Punk. I comment on many different subjects. Unlike you who is bashing him, my comments have always been “they” not pointed towards either of them individually because the match itself was sloppy….THEY both are responsible, and Punk knows it, as did I when I watched it. When Punk responded with “It was garbage,” to me, its him being angry with himself because from what I can tell, he actually gives a damn about how his matches come across.

          • Xavier

Check my comments bro. I don’t talk solely about Punk. Very few of anything I say on here has to do with Punk. And like I said before, if he’s so sick of traveling then he needs to pack it up and go home so the next man can take his spot. I’m sure they’re plenty of guys on the roster who wouldn’t mind having Punk’s private bus, his salary and his fame and a chance to travel the country. No need to cry & complain about it on twitter all the time like he has been doing lately, just hand in your letter of resignation to Vince and quitely walk out the door like Brock did in 04. There problem solved

      • Ben

Burying a match with a guy trying to make a name for himself and then sounding like you hate your job is unprofessional. If he had a problem with how the match went, he should have talked about it with Rollins, not ripped the match for the world to see. I have a feeling his comment about traveling wasn’t meant to be taken seriously, but Twitter doesn’t account for tone and the words alone just make it sound bad. Being outspoken is fine, but Punk needs to be more aware of his audience.

        • Gary Robert

It was hardly a rant and I’d hardly say he “ripped it.” He said 3 words. Whoop dee do. The only ones blowing it up are people on these forums. Punk saying that doesn’t, believe it or not, bury Rollins in any way. WWE brass makes their own judgments and its not based on anyone’s Twitter account. *gasp*

    • Steve pritchard

I know we have debated about this in the past . But I totally agree with you here. As a professional there’s a time to speak your mind and a time to keep your bs drama to yourself. And punk said way to much here . If this was ryback or ziggler they would be suspended or fired . This was very unprofessional of punk and I think he should be reprimanded for it . I’m still a fan. . But this speaking his mind on twitter is getting old. Like I’ve said in the past . Twitter is the worst thing to happen to professional wrestling. You hit the nail on the head Xavier . Couldn’t have said better myself.

  • SwipeMan McNasty

I think he’s really just holding himself to higher standard, kinda saying that he could do better. Everyone might just be taking it wrong.

    • Nostaljack

He then followed it with “I’m sick of traveling.” That’s another ball of wax entirely. As for the match, I saw a botch or two but, beyond that, it was fantastic!

  • Justin Lal

Punk could have said he did garbage but Rollins did well. It’s not like he ran out of characters to use on twitter.

  • Justin Lal

I almost get the feeling that Punk wants to retire, but by doing so have WWE beg him to come back at some point. He’s like that guy at work that always threatens to quit, but what he’s really aiming for is to get respect.

    • Gary Robert

b/c he says he’s sick of traveling? I’m sick of my job, also, but I still go to work everyday. He’s right about the match being garbage, too. Lot of blown spots. For a Rolins/Punk match, it was very sloppy. That being said, I’m sure it ain’t easy to do so its bound to happen from time to time.

    • Rus

Did you say the same about HBK??? How many people could really imagine doing his job for aslong as they stay their, I have high work ethics but I couldn’t do it

  • Rus

Umm were in the tweets does punk say the match was garbage all I see is him saying his sick of traveling. Which yeah he should suck it up and realise his getting paid a lot more than the roster

  • The Breaker

This is just the way Punk is. He’s a malcontent, and oftentimes has an abrasive personality. Not only that, but he’s extremely self-centered. While I don’t think he meant his comment as a slight to Rollins in any way, the fact that he reacted this way is childish and completely unnecessary. I greatly admire what Punk has done and continues to accomplish inside the ring, but the guy comes across as such a miserable person that I would be disinclined to meet him if I had the chance. And I think that’s a huge part of why he never could’ve been the top face in WWE.

    • JR Texx (Jamie)

You ever thought that CM Punk thought they could have done better?

      • The Breaker

He said it was garbage, so yeah that means he wasn’t pleased with their performance. Nothing wrong with him feeling that way, but he didn’t need to go on Twitter and say it like that.

        • Gary Robert

I doubt he went on Twitter specifically to “bury” his match, but when someone, like any of us, is annoyed with something, as I think its obvious he was about that match, and then someone comments directly to you about it, most of us respond in similar fashion.

          • The Breaker

He was clearly frustrated but that doesn’t give him a pass. He’s been in WWE long enough to learn how to act like a professional. A fan complimented him. How hard is it to just say thanks and move on?

  • ryan4035

all i see from this is a heel turn

  • Some Fan

Not related to the article, but I got an ad overlay that I had to watch in order to read this article. No offense, but that is pretty lame. If that doesn’t change I think I’ll have to go to another site for my wrestling news.

  • Bob’s Diner

Wow people are really over-reacting to this. To me, it looks like one those things where he’s probably on the road and something has gone wrong, so he said a simple “I’m sick of traveling.” It happens with anyone in all walks of life. It’s not like he wrote anything more details than that – not like he trashed his schedule or even the WWE for that matter. Just looks like someone venting at a frustration

    • Gary Robert

      funny stuff, right?

  • Craig

This new iphone layout is a pain in the arse

  • smark calloway

the reason punk said the match was garbage is because he is a perfectionist. no matter how good it was seen in the fans eyes he will only focus on the couple of botches made in the match and think that it sucks because of the mistakes made . eddie guerrero was the same apparently .. he would never watch a match of his back because he would always focus on the things that went wrong or the things he could have done in the match. the only match of his he watched back and actually liked and wouldnt change anything about was the match with mysterio at halloween havoc 97 ( which was both mens best match- in my opinion too). or i could even mention benoit who took it to even more extremes . in a match with jericho in japan . y2j did a spinning heel kick which although did connect with benoit , benoit felt he shouldnt of sold it ( the fans wouldnt have even noticed how hard benoit got hit ) after the match jericho looked for benoit but couldnt find him . he eventually found him in a the basement alone , doing 500 squats ” as punishment ” for selling the kick when he felt he shouldnt have . jericho tried to explain the him that nobody would have even known about the kick apart from the two men in the ring . but benoit wouldnt hear it , he was a machine and continued to punish himself with the squats. jericho couldnt understand it ,but since he was the one who did the kick then he thought he should do the squats too. and did his own next to benoit… so what im trying to say is , while some of you think punk has lost his passion for the business and he doesnt care anymore it is quite the opposite. if he didnt care anymore he wouldnt care about the botches in the match with rollins and wouldnt of called it ” garbage “. i shows he does still care about the business and have a passion and desire to perform to a high standard still

    • Gary Robert

Agreed. If anything, that comment is because of passion, not lack of it.

  • Bryan N.

He obviously seems burnt out, which seems to be a recurring pattern on the Road to Wrestlemania or very shortly after each year. I agree with a few comments on here that point the blame at the travel schedule, rather than Punk being burned out with wrestling. Obviously his attitude sucks and that post burying his match with Rollins was childish in nature, but it’s also Punk’s opinion. I may not agree with the content of the message or that it was put out on social media, but it’s his issue and he’ll deal with it in time. No sense in getting riled up over an already-controversial star venting some frustration.

  • Guest

Punk is someone who does not hold back and says what he has to say so this comment shouldn’t surprise anyone even if it was in bad taste.
As for Punk being burned out, again not surprising I’m sure many of the wrestlers feel that way given their hectic schedules on the road. Its exhausting.

  • Tom

You people read far too much into this than you should. Ever stop to consider that maybe CM Punk wasn’t thrilled with HIS performance? Being a top performer, he is probably very critical of himself.

  • Steve pritchard

I’m a huge punk fan . But I can’t defend this. It was totally uncalled for and very unprofessional of punk. If you’re sick of traveling then go work at Burger King ! Pro wrestling isn’t for you. No need to take to twitter and cry like a 3 yr old. This pipe bomb on twitter crap is getting old quick. I hate my job sometimes but I grin and bear it . Cuz that’s what adults do. Punk is still my favorite wrestler but it sounds like he’s got some serious growing up to do . And staying off twitter for a while would benefit him greatly.

    • Gary Robert

His Twitter is quite entertaining, actually.

  • Lebron James

Hope this doesn’t effect Rollins. Seth had two great ppv quality matches against Cena and Punk within a week. Took them to their limit! I hope we get to see more singles work from Rollins in the future, he’s the best in ring competitor in The Shield.
