WWE updated their story on CM Punk here on dot com. The WWE Champion underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee under Dr. James Andrews. The procedure was done to train a cartilage tear in Punk’s knee.

Below is an excerpt from their update:

“CM Punk underwent knee surgery today to remove a piece of torn meniscus that had locked up his knee,” said Andrews’ colleague, WWE physician Dr. Chris Amann. “The surgery, performed by Dr. James Andrews, went smoothly and CM Punk is expected to make a full recovery.”

In an update from my sources, I noted it was believed the procedure was a minor scope.

Has an injury ever stopped CM Punk? Fractured Skull, exploded hip, elbow injury & now a scope of the knee, he will work through cause he is one tough SOB & the BEST IN THE WORLD.

Does this through Rumble plans in to disarray? Surely… Forced to vacate perhaps…

  • Kleck

Even a minor scope requires a recovery time. He should be ready to go for RR I would imagine.

So who here thinks Punk is tough enough not to be taking Pain killers after this knee surgery? He is straight edge, remember?

    • William Shatner

I do. Without going into excessive detail I've had quite serious injuries in the past and worked through them without painkillers. The only painkillers that would have had any real effect were addictive. The pain relief wasn't worth the risk in my opinion.
It hurt like a motherbleeper but after a while you learn to cope. Considering Punk's strong life philosophy and career length I'm sure he'll be able to cope. He doesn't seem the type to abandon his straight edgeness on a whim.

I’ve had this surgery on my knee twice. He’ll be back in time for rr. Normal recovery time is 4-6 weeks. He’s an athlete so probly 3-4.
