Daniel Bryan Officially Stripped Of WWE World Heavyweight Championship

Daniel Bryan was officially stripped of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the opening segment of this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. Because Bryan is not medically cleared to compete, a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion will be crowned in the Money in the Bank ladder match at the pay-per-view later this month.

Participants will qualify throughout the broadcast with Alberto Del Rio and Randy Orton already qualifying.

This was expected as I detailed the happenings surrounding Daniel Bryan since winning the title at Wrestlemania XXX leading up to this week’s Raw at this link.

As things currently stand, and as we reported here, WWE is preparing to be without Daniel Bryan until SummerSlam. There is no timetable available for his return at this time.

    That’s good, let him rest.

  • BIG M

    This really sucks.

  • Keith Davis

Just another example of a hard-working guy getting screwed by someone named McMahon!

    • Simon Veitch

You do realise he’s actually hurt right? He’s not getting screwed, he’s injured and recovering. Screwed was what happened during the last half of last year.

    • Mysterion

It’s still real to you, damn it!!!

      • Bob’s Diner

        It’s all a conspiracy!

    • JR Texx (Jamie)

Yes because the McMahon’s gave him an injury on purpose. Guessing John Cena has something to do with this too?

  • Mandy

This sucks, DB was at a career high and then this had to happen. Poor guy but he needs time to recover, he can’t rush his return so WWE did the right thing.

  • Tony

not the most popular decision but sometimes the best and most logical decisions in life are the ones that are the most unpopular

  • Bob’s Diner

While we are all thinking this is bad luck, remember this happened to Steve Austin in 1997 as well. I’m just saying things like this don’t always end badly

  • Chris

Since everyone keeps stating the title is going to be defended in ‘THE’ MitB Ladder match, does that mean we’re only getting one ladder match and no contract holder this year?

    • Mark

I think there should be one for the title and another one where the winner gets a contract. Would help get more people on the card too.

  • kingdook24

What’s even MORE shocking… they didn’t admittedly award the titles to Orton. So they’re just postponing it by simply “placing” him in the match without qualifying… since it would’ve been a waste since he would’ve qualified anyway… only to have him win at MITB.

Rest up, DB. You will be missed.

So wat was the purpose of of the whole brie bell segment at payback ?!
