Davey Richards Wanted TNA All Along, Fan InterAction Coverage

Davey Richards Wanted TNA All Along

Brian Fritz interviewed Davey Richards to promote this weekend’s TNA Lockdown pay-per-view. In it, Richards said he wanted to go to TNA Wrestling because of the schedule. He’s a paramedic and in medical school and is not giving that up. He said it was Eddie Edwards that was adamant about finishing their commitment with WWE because he wanted to go to TNA all along. You can read the interview at this link.

So Davey has no ambition to be the best at what he does? He can’t if TNA is his pinnacle – just sayin’…

Honestly, I think he’s using his head. He’s getting a secondary vocation under his belt. Once he finished med school he may move to the big leagues but what happens of, God forbid at his young age, he’s seriously injured and his career ends with nothing to fall back on? This is a smart move.

I’m all for the second vocation, but that does not make half assing an attempt to sign with WWE and claiming TNA was where he would rather be. Especially when TNA is cutting pay back as much as they are, so much so they couldn’t keep AJ Styles. The amount of money he could have made with WWE is not comparable to TNA, and the Wolves should have fought for their spot in WWE instead of just rolling over and joining the minor leagues.

That’s a great point. If wrestling was all he wanted to do forever, then I would say take a developmental deal with WWE. But if he has other goals outside of wrestling, then working with TNA (which is kind of part-time) is probably a smart move. And means when when he’s saving people’s lives as a paramedic, they won’t get all ‘Hey it’s that wrestler guy from TV!’ on him.
