WWE began airing vignettes on tonight's Raw Supershow for a new character with a Japanese-like gimmick named Lord Tensai.

Tensai is actually Matthew Bloom and his signing was a topic of conversation backstage at this weekend's live events. Bloom has spent the past six years with New Japan Pro Wrestling working as Giant Bernard and was in WWE during the Attitude Era as A-Train.

Bloom denied over the weekend he had signed with WWE.

Oh wow I wasn't expecting that….the WWE was quick with that one…I'm not complaining one bit! It was definitely a quick transition though.

  • Terrance

I've kept up with his work in New Japan, so I must say, I'm pretty stoked for his WWE return.

    • Abe

he got a lot better in his time in japan, I hated him in the attitude era

  • thatguy

eehhhhhh. I just have a feeling this isn't going to get over. They had a great chance with Clay and was actually getting over. This, I don't think will work

    • Bault16

      That makes sense

  • hayden

its not the a-train returning to the wwe that was former nexus member skip sheffield who has been working recent wwe house shows as ryback you can just tell by the eyes and the head of the guy

    • Leon Scott

they clearly show his chest tattoos and they are exactly the same as Giant Bernard.

    • @RatedMKD

No way is that Ryan Reeves. The guy is far too toned. Regardless of the identity, whoever's portrayed Lord Tensai is a big guy. He's just not the freakish body-builder type that Skip Sheffield so clearly is.

      • Van

Ryan Reeves has already got new wrestling name.Ryback

    • Jake

It is the A-train just look at the chest tattoos and the Ears on the head, Those are not Skip Sheffield's

    • Matt Scott

You're not very good at this are you?

  • Let's Just hope he doesn't 'derail' his return with injuries and what-not.

  • Liam

    Skip Sheffield anyone ?

  • Aldin94

He should fued with Brodus Clay.

  • Josh

Do you guys not read the article? It says A-Train…not Skip Sheffield. This should be interesting, as his work has definitely improved in Japan

  • Silver

Wonder if this means he actually shaved his back.

    • AJG316

Sadly enough that's all I remember of him (I'm a moe recent fan but I looked back to the past and saw a couple of tapes so I know what I missed)

  • kevin

Looked like Matt to me nor skip. Skip will never see tv.

  • PhilG

how does anyone think skip sheffield with all those tattoos on Lord Tensai.. clearly Atrain if you look at old footage of his ink.

  • anon

    Glad Hakushi is coming back!

  • Frenchfry

woot! love a-train, the most badass bicycle kick of all of them!

  • AJG316

Am I the only one that find this a coincidence because during raw tonight a train was actually trending on twitter of course wwe wouldnt acknowledge this bcuz of a spoiler I'm just saying this makes sense. So when will a train return

  • havoc525

As soon as I saw the tribal tats, I knew it was A-Train.

  • PhilT81

I’m glad I’m not the only one who remembers Hakushi!

I think we will hear a lot of ‘You’re Prince Albert’ chants at shows.

    • Matt Scott

From who? The Cena fans or the passive fans?

  • Van

I knew it!that liar talking about how he's not coming back to WWE

  • Ice Cold The Fake Austin

they shd team up with yoshi tatsu

    • Matt Scott

      You should learn correct grammar.

  • BigMike

I always liked A-Train he had some decent matches with both Kane and Rey Mysterio back in the day and he is good on the mic I remember his match with rey and how it was a great big man VS a Great Little Man and he was always saying that a Great Big man wil ALWAYS beat a great little man Mysterio won the match but he was a good solid worker. he was a multitime tag team champ in NJPW
