Diddy Performing Live At Wrestlemania 29

WWE issued the following press release on Thursday:

STAMFORD, Conn., March 28, 2013 – WWE today announced a partnership with Sean “Diddy” Combs, featuring a live performance at WrestleMania 29® on Sunday, April 7 by the three-time Grammy Award winner and entertainment powerhouse. Combs will also co-host the Superstars for Sandy Relief party with WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon as a part of the WrestleMania® Week festivities and serve as an ambassador for WWE’s Be a STAR anti-bullying initiative.

Emanating live from MetLife Stadium, Combs will perform a medley of songs in front of more than 70,000 fans in attendance with millions watching worldwide on pay-per-view. Diddy-Dirty Money’s highest charting single, “Coming Home,” from the acclaimed album Last Train to Paris is an official theme song of WrestleMania 29 and will be integrated throughout the show.

The Superstars for Sandy Relief party, co-hosted by Combs and McMahon with special guest Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg kicks-off WrestleMania® Week on Thursday, April 4 at Cipriani Wall Street. The charitable fundraiser is part of WWE’s efforts to unite the sports and entertainment worlds and provide fans the opportunity to bid on unique, once-in-a-lifetime experiences. As a part of the online auction, Combs is offering the opportunity to be an intern for a day at his world-renowned entertainment company Bad Boy Records and learn what it takes to manage today’s top artists. All proceeds will benefit The Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City and Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund.

Combs will also serve as an ambassador for Be a STAR, an anti-bullying initiative co-founded by WWE and the Creative Coalition to encourage young people to treat each other with tolerance and respect. In addition, through Combs’ association with the Invisible Bully clothing line, he will continue to encourage individuals to put an end to bullying and contribute to Invisible Bully’s mission to stand for something or fall for anything.

“WrestleMania is one of the biggest spectacles in the world and I’m looking forward to performing in front of millions on April 7,” said Combs. “I’ve always been a fan of WWE and I’m excited to support these two important causes, Superstars for Sandy Relief and the Be a STAR anti-bullying initiative.”

WrestleMania 29 airs live on pay-per-view Sunday, April 7 at 7:00 p.m. ET from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ.

Because when I think of WrestleMania I think of…Diddy/Daddy/Puffy/Puff?

    • Loren Goldstein

The artist formally known as Diddy?

    • Win

I would assume when you think of Wrestlemania, wrestling would come 2 mind anyway.

  • dave

    That both sucks and blows

  • hah, i just won 20 bucks, i called it a month ago and my friend didn’t believe it would happen

  • StraightEdgeForLife

Isn’t Combs worth more than VKM? So shouldn’t VKM be working for Combs instead of vice versa?!

    • Win

When then Diddy pass Mcmahon on Forbes List? I’ll wait…

      • StraightEdgeForLife

        Lol what was that?

  • Xavier

Do some of you guys ever stop BITCHING? Chill, every year there is an entertainer at Mania. Diddy is one of the most recognizable people in the music industry so what is there to complain about??

    • Matt

      Diddly sucks?

      • Matt

        You shallow?

    • KingKongBrody

Um every year no, Wrestlemania 1,2,3,4,6,7,8,9,10,12,13,15,19,20,23,24,25,26, didn’t have a music act to name a few

      • Xavier

Liberace at WM1, Ray Charles at WM2, Aretha Franklin/Alice Cooper at WM3, Gladys Knight at WM4, Run DMC at WM5, Robert Goulet at WM6, Reba McEntire at WM7, Willie Nelson at WM8, Little Richard at WM10, Salt N Pepa at WM11, Chris Warren at WM14, Boyz II Men at WM15, Limp Bizkit at WM17, Drowning Pool at WM18, Limp Bizkit at WM19, Motörhead at WM21, POD at WM22, Aretha Franklin at WM23, Kid Rock at WM24, Nicole
Scherzonger at WM25, Fantasia at WM26, Keri Hilson/Juatin Bieber at WM27, MGK/Flo’rida at WM28. That’s pretty much every WM bro. So why bitch about it now

        • PainOfDemise

People aren’t bitching because there’s an entertainer there…people are bitching because it’s Diddy.

          • Xavier

Either way I don’t see the point of getting so worked up, too many grown men cone on here just to PMS over petty stuff. You got Rock, Lesnar & Taker on the card. Those are three guys who everyone wanted too see back so McMahon deliveres it. You have a stacked HOF that includes Bruno & Backland which are two people who fans wanted too see inducted for years so McMahon gives us that. Then the fans say they wanna see fresh/up incoming talent on the card (Barrett, Ziggler, Big E, Clay, Fandango, Rhodes, Sandow, Ambrose, Rollins & Reigns) and McMahon gives us that. Then everybody complains that there aren’t enough tag teams in wrestling so McMahon gives us 3 tag matches at Mania. So again why bitch about something so petty? Enjoy life bro, life is to short to get your panties up in a bunch over a 3 minute performance at Mania.

Hands down a suitable reply. WWE is all about entertainment which includes music, pyro and performances. And if you’re still not down with that, I’ve got two words for ya’

            MUTE IT!!!

        • KingKongBrody

America the Beautiful doesn’t count if your opening the show BRO. We are talking about these people coming on to do songs THEY wrote that no one wants to hear. If you open they show or sing a WRESTLERS SONG to the ring that’s one thing but to just play your own song for people who don’t wanna hear it and spent $60 to watch WRESTLING is another. And I didn’t put Wrestlemania V in there cuz of Run DMC.

          • Xavier

It does count, because he still performed, rather it’s at the beginning of the show or the middle of the show it’s still advertised and featured at the event

      • H.M.

Kid Rock performed at WM 25. I remember because it was horrible.

  • Puff daddy hasn’t being relevant in 15 years.

    • Win

Obviously you haven’t had electricity nor the internet in 15 years LMAO!

      • I wonder how I posted my comment. Genius.

        • Carlos is a dumbass

You probably went to a public library to use their computer.

          • Go do something productive instead. Your poor attempts at trolling has failed and has not impressed anyone. Move along my subordinate.

  • KingKongBrody

Thank god I changed my mind and I’m NOT going. I got Wrestlemania last year with 3 music acts and an 18 SECOND world heavyweight championship match. By the way Wrestlemania is now $60 that’s not even for HD are they kidding. If I wanna watch bad musical acts (yes Diddy is bad I don’t care what anyone says) I’d watch any of those CRAPPY award shows. For the Diddy fans out there I’m not just talking about him whatever music that’s put on at Wrestlemania even if its music I like I would still be pissed I want a WORLD TITLE MATCH LONGER THEN 18 SECONDS. The reason I wasn’t pissed at King Kong Bundy going over S.D. Jones at Wrestlemania is there was NO music acts at the first Wrestlemania and no Mean Gene’s version of America the Beautiful doesn’t count. Thank you IWC for letting me rant.

    • TheBigTTT

I agree with you 100%. Why are we going to waste over $60 to watch Diddy perform at WRESTLEmania. Did they forget they are a WRESTLING company. I can’t believe they announced 10 MATCHES! It seems good, but they are just gonna be 6 filler 3 minute matches, a 5 minute Shield match, and 3 other 20 minute matches.

  • Geezer

Well I for one enjoyed Flo Rida and MGK last year. It adds to the lustre and grandeur of Mania. Diddy will bring it. Tick from me.

  • Makes sense wwe us getting less entertaining by the week Why not get a unentertaining music act. This will most Definitely be a piss break moment.
