Dixie Carter Says She “Absolutely” Would Do Crossover Show With WWE

Digital Spy has a new piece featuring quotes from Dixie Carter. Not only did Carter put over the importance of having WWE as a competitor but she said she would be open to co-promoting a show together. Below are the highlights:

“I don’t think [the WWE] shares my belief in this, but I believe that competition is 100% positively essential,” she told Digital Spy.

“I think it’s important for fans and for us. To have one company dominate, a) it’s boring, and b) you are not being challenged enough. It’s always better to have other options out there and I truly believe it makes both companies better.”

When asked about a crossover show involving WWE and TNA talent:

“I absolutely would do that. I’m not sure if they would do that, but I absolutely would.”

The reason it would never happen, pretty simple, how do you convince the “stars” to put over the “minor leaguers?”

Of course she would…she needs the ratings. It’s the only way she might see her company break the 1.0 and below ratings streak they’ve been in. Who knows? They might even see a…dare I say it…2.0!

Would not work. Egos & Vince not wanting his stars to look weak will allow that to happen.

Of course she would! It would bring so much exposure to tna. Wwe would get zero benefit from doing so. With that being said, i Remember back in the early days of raw when Vince promoted rival company ecw. I watched a wwe DVD talking about that situation and no one could figure out why he did it. Perhaps there is hope for a cross over after all???

    • BigMarkLew

He did it for simple reasons. Profit and look what it got him. Some wrestlers that would do crazy stunts for less money and he could care less about. A video Library and a all the copyrights to go with them for example those damn Dudley’s oops I mean 3D

Vince has gone on record as saying ECW was a proving ground for them to pull wrestlers out of. Heyman was supposed to guide workers to the WWE (when they were ready to move up) but in practice it didn’t work as well as Vince had hoped.

TRANSLATION: Dixie/Panda Energy are wiling too sell TNA to the Vince/WWE for the right price.

She’s right in that it’s a great idea to have competition. TNA, however, isn’t it. WCW was competition while it lasted. They had a bottomless checkbook courtesy of Ted Turner, compelling television, and they knew how to market themselves. TNA is not now and never will be competition for WWE. She’s flattering herself if she thinks otherwise. The checkbook ain’t bottomless, the television’s boring, and they haven’t got a clue with regard to marketing. As has already been said, WWE would gain nothing from this. Nothing TNA does could “make WWE a better company”. This is among the more ridiculous statements Dixie has made and I laughed when I first read it.

Even if Vince did agree to do a cross over the deal would fall flat when Hogan demands to strut to the ring and lay waste to Cena, Undertaker, Triple H, Daniel Bryan and Dolph Zigger with his usual boring routine and then putting CM Punk out of action for a year with his dreaded, leg drop of doom.
