ECW on Sci-Fi Opener:
We opened up with a video feature on the Donald Trump/Bobby Lashley vs. Vince McMahon/Umaga storyline, including clips of Lashley taking out the steel cage last week.
In the arena:
After the ECW opening, Vince McMahon made his way to the ring. He noted that Steve Austin would be the special referee at Wrestlemania and would be here tonight. McMahon said he was looking forward to Austin's comments later, then said that last Monday, he gave Donald Trump a warning. He noted that the official contract signing will be on this Monday's Raw. The crowd is already back doing the "What?" chant. McMahon said that if Trump gets out of line, he'll give him a "Billionaire Bitchslap." He said that Bobby Lashley can tell everyone all about that and played the clip of slapping Lashley from Smackdown. McMahon claimed that Lashley was standing outside his office when he arrived at the building today. McMahon said he could smell the fear on Lashley and tears welling up in his eyes. McMahon claimed that Lashley "humbly apologized" but McMahon said that he wouldn't accept it unless it happened before the public. McMahon introduced Bobby Lashley, who got a pretty big pop. Lashley was smiling as he came to the ring. McMahon handed Lashley the microphone and told him to do what he did this afternoon. Lashley said that he did want to apologize to everyone worldwide, especially McMahon. He offered McMahon his hand. Vince shook it. Lashley said that he wanted to apologize because last week when he was slapped, he should have kicked the hell out of McMahon. He told McMahon that if he ever put his hands on Lashley again, he would break him in half. He squeezed until McMahon went down. The crowd loved it. Lashley walked out, leaving McMahon on his knees in the ring.
Ashley:
They aired a video feature on Ashley Massaro's Playboy cover.
Referee: Scott Armstrong
Balls Mahoney vs. Hardcore Holly
Holly goes right to work on Mahoney with a series of rights, then chokes Mahoney against the ropes. Holly whips Mahoney into the ropes, then nails a clothesline for a near fall. Holly worked over Mahoney in the corner with punches. Holly charged him in the corner, but Balls kicked him in the face and nailed a series of punches. Mahoney missed a top rope legdrop. Holly nailed the Alabama Slam and score the clean pinfall.
Winner - Hardcore Holly
The Aftermath:
Snitsky hit the ring and laid out Holly.
Backstage:
Backstage, Rebecca interviewed CM Punk. Punk said being in the Money in the Bank was an unbelievable opportunity. He said he was going to Smackdown this week to wrestle Ken Kennedy. Elijah Burke showed up and Punk got angry he was interrupted. Burke said that tonight Punk was at the crossroads and offered him a chance to be part of the New Breed. Rob Van Dam showed up and told Punk not to waste his time listening to Burke, saying he can't even spell ECW. Van Dam told Burke he was going to learn all about Extreme Championship Wrestling next. Oh, how I wish. RVD walked off. Punk faced off with Burke. Burke said, "Hey man, just think about it." He left, leaving Punk to consider the offer.
Referee: Mickey Hensen
Rob Van Dam vs. Elijah Burke
The other ECW Originals came to the ring with Van Dam.
The start:
Burke and Van Dam wrestled on the mat early. Van Dam nailed a series of armdrags and cracked him in the jaw with a sidekick. Burke backed off in the corner. Burke escaped a spinkick, but RVD nailed a bodypress over the ropes with both crashing to the floor. The Originals and the New Breed faced off on the floor as they went to commercial.
Mid-match notes:
When they returned from commercial, they showed Ariel distract RVD, causing him to miss a Rolling Thunder. Burke hit several suplexes on Van Dam, scoring a two count. Van Dam finally missed a charge, nailing the top turnbuckle facefirst. Burke dropkicked RVD in the face, but was unable to get the three count. Burke drilled both of his knees into the back of RVD, slamming his head and snapping his neck in the process. Burke torqued Van Dam's body on the mat.
The Finish:
Van Dam fought his way back to his feet and unloaded with several kicks and a monkey flip. Van Dam nailed a spinkick in the corner and followed it up with a split-legged moonsault. Burke kicked out but was kicked in the face. Van Dam ascended to the top and nailed the Five Star Frog Splash, scoring the pin.
Winner - Rob Van Dam
The Aftermath:
Tommy Dreamer took the mic and told the New Breed that they weren't going to stop bringing the fight to them. He challenged the New Breed to an eight man tag bout at Wrestlemania 23. With the exception of Van Dam, that would be the in-ring Wrestlemania debut for everyone in the bout.
In the arena:
Joey Styles and Tazz noted that the Chicago White Sox were in attendance. Tazz namechecked AJ Pierzynski. Extreme Expose danced. Well, two of them did.
In the arena:
Steve Austin came to the ring. Austin said that wherever there's a WWE ring and WWE cameras, that's where his home is. Austin said Arizona has that dry heat and that makes him real damn thirsty. He asks for a beer and drinks. He said he was here to talk about the Battle of the Billionaires. He said he was an expert in hair vs. hair since he has no hair. Austin said he's asked how he's going to call the match since Vince McMahon has made his life a hell. Austin said it has to be called right down the middle and that's the way it has to be. He went around ringside asking fans who they wanted to see get their head shaved. The first person had no clue but everyone else said Vince McMahon. Austin promised that if Umaga or Lashley got in his face, they were going to get stunners. Austin looked to be having fun playing off the fans. It was the type of stuff he used to do after TV Tapings with fans once the cameras went off the air. Austin said he was going to be Washington, DC on Monday for the contract signing. He promised at Wrestlemania there would be a bald billionaire.
