Full Smackdown Taping Results For Tonight

WWE taped this week’s Smackdown from the Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield, California. Below are full results:

WWE Smackdown (Airing tonight on SyFy):

* Theodore Long is on commentary with Michael Cole. Long is replacing Josh Mathews this week after Kane‘s attack on Mathews.

* Randy Orton opens the show with a promo. He says that he wants a shot at Sheamus‘ World Heavyweight Championship and challenges him. Sheamus comes out and agrees to the challenge, saying that he’d prefer Orton to Alberto Del Rio, who he calls a “complainer.” Booker T comes out to address the situation before he is interrupted by Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez. Del Rio wants a rematch with Sheamus, and accuses Sheamus of cheating at SummerSlam. Booker T makes a #1 Contender match for tonight between Randy Orton and Alberto Del Rio. The winner will face Sheamus at Night of Champions.

* Ryback b. Jinder Mahal with his fisherman buster. Before the match, Ryback cut a promo in which he swore revenge for what Mahal had done to him.

* Layla b. Alicia Fox. Kaitlyn was on commentary for the match, and entered the ring after the match to have a staredown with Layla. Eve came out and raised both Layla and Kaitlyn’s hands.

* Backstage, Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero are discussing Sheamus. Sheamus interrupts them and dares Ziggler to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase tonight.

* Sheamus b. Dolph Ziggler by disqualification when Ziggler attacked Sheamus with the Money in the Bank briefcase. Ziggler considered cashing it in, but ran away as Sheamus began to recover.

* Santino Marella cuts a promo in the ring about losing the United States Championship at SummerSlam. He then begins asking the Cobra about the loss before being interrupted by Antonio Cesaro and Aksana. Cesaro proclaims that he is a winner in five languages. A brawl breaks out and Aksana once again provides a distraction for the Cobra, which allows Cesaro to take out Santino.

* Kofi Kingston & R-Truth b. Primo & Epico. R-Truth got the pin. The Prime Time Players were ringside during the match and stared down the champions after the match.

* Backstage, The Prime Time Players interrupt Matt Striker‘s interview with Kofi Kingston & R-Truth. PTP start to make fun of Little Jimmy. Eventually, The Usos, Primo, & Epico all get involved and a brawl breaks out.

* Backstage, Booker T and Theodore Long discuss which tag team should be the new #1 Contenders. Eve walks up with win/loss records of the four teams and tells Booker that she has organized his schedule. Booker thanks Eve and begins to ignore Long.

* Alberto Del Rio b. Randy Orton by submission with the cross armbreaker. Sheamus was on commentary for the match. After the match, Del Rio threw a shoe at Sheamus, starting a brawl between the two. Del Rio hit Sheamus with the shoe again, knocking him out. Dolph Ziggler then ran out with the Money in the Bank briefcase, but Randy Orton hit Ziggler with an RKO. Del Rio walks up the ramp staring at Orton and Sheamus to end the show.

Oh, man! I was hoping for Randy Orton to return to winning the World Heavyweight Championship.

Second week without Christian… What is going on? Where o’ where is my Captain?

Why randy give Cody a push!

  • Chris

Anyone notice Kaitlyn screw up on commentary? She said something about "last night in the battle royal", referencing the match on Raw, and giving away that it was actually Tuesday. How did that get on air??

    • joe

WWE do acknowledge the fact that smackdown is actually on Tuesday sometimes

    • Angelica

Everyone knows it’s taped who cares haha!

Alberto Del Rio is being forced down our throat week after week, I don't like to hear his music hit and I don't like him to take away other people's opportunities to get a title match against Sheamus ( like Randy Orton). I'd rather see Randy Orton as number one contender than Alberto Del Rio. The thing that irritates me the most, is his little puppy that he carries around (Ricardo), why the hell does he always have to interfer in every big event. Besides the cross armbreaker, Del Rio doesn't have much more to offer. The fact is, that his character does not evolve in any direction, it's always the same story, number one contender and not number one contender and number one contender again. In my opinion, there are lots of other superstars that would like to be in his position and they just don't get the chance.

orton doesnt deserve a push right now especially with the whole suspension thing, i like ortons in ring work despite his non-existant mic skills and in all honesty he's a scumbag professionally, he needs this humbling

      • Alessio

Do you really think Alberto has more mic skills than Orton?
Being a scumbag is his job, but compared to Alberto, he archieved more than him. Orton is the legend killer, his role does not concist in talking, whinning and complaining about not being in the place he should be. Alberto keeps on complaining about the fact that he is not at the top and that it is his destiny to be world heavyweight champion, but with all the opportunities he had this past year to archieve that goal, he always failed.

Couldn’t agree more. Giving him a title shot would after coming off a suspension would be akin to slapping a child on the wrist and telling him/her to never do it again. What’s more, it would be the equivalent of a reputable shoe manufacturer endorsing an MMA fighter with a DWI…oh wait, they did that already.
