Goldberg Would Rather Face Someone Other Than Ryback At WrestleMania, Explains Issue With Ryback

Goldberg recently spoke with media regarding a potential return to WWE, induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, and more. Jim Varsallone of The Miami Herald was on hand, and recapped what Goldberg had to say. In addition, he posted video of the meeting. In the following excerpt, Goldberg spoke on who he'd like to face if he ever came back for WrestleMania:

“If the offer is to go to WrestleMania and to wrestle him and put him over, at the end of the day, me in the ring with Ryback wouldn’t be my ultimate opponent of my choosing,” Goldberg said.

“I’d like to wrestle Undertaker with the streak versus streak. You know I’ve never gotten in the ring with him. Let’s give the people something they’ve never seen before. I think after everybody sees what I did out there, I can still do everything I used to do, even at 46-years-old. I’d love to wrestle him. Obviously, [Steve] Austin is a dream match, but the reality is I just want to give the people what they want to see.”

More on Ryback:

“I don’t think it was his idea to change his gimmick up,” Goldberg said. “He is just taking direction. It gets annoying. It surely got annoying when people called me Steve Austin, but at the end of the day, I took it as a compliment. If I was Ryback or whatever his name is, and I’m not going to be sitting here on my high-horse, but hey man, you have to look in the mirror and thank God that they are comparing him to me.

“I got more talent in one finger than that punk has in his entire body. I have at 46-years-old more presence than he could have in his entire life. The only reason I’m adamantly antagonized is because he has opened his mouth a couple of times as of late. I guess he was over in Europe and said he took a big Goldberg or something. Ask Triple H. I don’t like people talking about me when I’m not in the business. Ryback, if I see you around, you better hold on tight. That’s all I got to say. This ain’t the WWE. This is called life.”

    What a prissy little girl.

  • Rus

It was Perth Australia Ryback said he was going to drop his pants and do a huge goldberg in the middle of the city

    • Gary Robert

      lol i find that funny

      • Rus

Yeh it was hilarious he was abusing this 1 fan the hole night everytime he chanted Goldberg he would stand over him on and scream Ryback and he did it about 10 times he even did Goldbergs spear and looked at the guy and said its a stupid move HAHAHA I told him I was stronger than him and he flexed his muscles at me had me laughing big time but wow he is massive in real life

  • Xavier

Has there ever been more of a cocky overrated asshole then Goldberg. After reading this I don’t even wanna see this man in the HOF. It’s impossible to like this dude. I thought after being humbled by Jericho that he wouldn’t act like such a ass but I gues I was way off base there. Stay the hell off my TV!

  • Xavier

Has there ever been a more cocky self-absorbed overrated asshole . What a freaking [email protected] Goldberg still is. After watching this I don’t even wanna see this man get into the HOF. F that dude. Stay the hell off my TV! Where the hell is Chris Jericho at when you need him.

    • H.M.

      Damn, someone sure reacted strongly.

  • Tony Rankin

Sorry Goldberg, you’re not worthy of being in the ring with The Undertaker. He really needs to get over himself. Being “undefeated” in a business with predetermined outcomes says nothing of your actual talent.

    • Conner Ueckert

The same can be said for undertaker then Tony seriously you just contradicted yourself, all of undertakers matches were predetermined so how does that make undertaker any better than golberg? How does it make golberg “unworthy” of being in the ring with him if all of their matches were pre-determined?

      • Avalanchian

        The Streak can never end!

      • Tony Rankin

My comment was based almost solely off of Goldberg’s ego. He was scripted to be “undefeated” but he walks around talking as if he is actually undefeated in real life, for example Floyd Mayweather. Newsflash, the CHARACTER Bill Goldberg was undefeated, the PERSON William Goldberg is not. For THAT reason I said he doesn’t deserve to be in the ring with the Undertaker because that would give William something else to brag about. My comment about not being worthy of Taker and Goldberg’s talent were about weren’t really related to each other. The first sentence was for the first quote in this article and the rest was for the second quote in this article, 2 different topics.

      • BigMike

difference is outside of the ring Undertaker is a MMA enthusiast and works out MMA style and is legit badass but he doesn’t make a public ass out of himself while Bill tries to stay relevant in a world that he left and was not very great in to begin with. Undertaker is a legend Icon and a good and humble guy while Goldberg is an arrogant asshat

  • Nostaljack

You’re all getting worked (some markedly more than others). He’s planting seeds, y’all, and you’re going for it. LOL! I’d love to see Goldberg back for a match and the fact that he can still “work” people indicates that he knows exactly what he’s doing.

    • Xavier

I doubt it. Goldberg has always been an arrogant prick in his interviews

    • BigMike

I would agree to this BUT Goldberg has been making dumbass comments like this for YEARS yet he has not stepped into a ring…… he is turning into the Ultimate Warrior. talking shit because their ego is still WAY out of control

    • WrestlingFan4Life

My sentiments exactly, Nostaljack. See my comment above. I read this story and instantly thought “storyline”. He’s building up to a match with Ryback.

  • Splat

Hey, if he wants to lose to The Undertaker at WM just like everyone else I’m down.

  • Iamjohnnymcb

I can sense his ego by just reading this

  • Stoney

Goldberg is the most ego-ridden jackass in the wrestling business, Hulk Hogan at his most self-righteous cant compete with Goldberg.
He never have back to the business that made him, he just took took took, Cried like a little girl when he didn’t get his way, and acted like he was above everyone else.

  • Justin

I would like to see Goldberg and Ryback fight for real.

Btw, Goldberg nor Rose deserve to be in the WWE HoF.

  • AlphaMale

I’d rather watch rats make love than watch Goldberg vs Ryback

  • BigMike

Ryback would hand Goldberg his ass and make it look easy all bill ever was was a washed up football player who was pushed to the moon because of his look he could move in the ring BUT it also depended on who he was in the ring with that could make him look good. he thinks he is a badass? need anyone remind him of what happened with Jericho?

    • Rus

      what happened with Jericho???

  • WrestlingFan4Life

I’m not sure I buy Goldberg’s comments as being legitimately personal towards Ryback. I am leaning more toward those comments being more of a storyline to build tensions between Goldberg and Ryback so that he can come back and have a match against Ryback. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that Goldberg already has a deal in place to return at WrestleMania 2014 in a match against Ryback. Right now, the only 3 competitors I see as able to stop Ryback are Big Show, Mark Henry, and Cena. Cena and Ryback we’ve already seen; Henry and Show are in a storyline with The Shield. So why not bring Goldberg back on television and pit him against Ryback leading up to a huge WrestleMania match?
