Heat On Alberto Del Rio, The Tag Team Division In WWE, The Way Divas Are Pushed, Brodus Clay’s Disappearance

Does Alberto Del Rio have backstage heat in WWE?

Alberto Del Rio rubbed a lot of people the wrong way in a promotional appearance he did in the San Francisco, California market last weekend. In the appearance, Del Rio admitted he didn’t like most of the boys in the locker room and completely humiliated The Miz (click here for more). Why anyone would come out and talk like that this is beyond me. I understand heels have the ability to do hateful interviews in-character but why a worker would attempt to bury them self in this business is beyond me. I don’t know if it will do anything to alter the way management views Del Rio but it does nothing from a public relations standpoint to improve his image.

There was a rumor last year that Triple H wanted to re-surge the tag team division in WWE by signing new tag teams. Is this still the plan?

The tag team division in WWE is like a yo-yo. WWE forgets about it for months then will build it up with upper mid-card to main event level workers. They are currently using the division to push Primo & Epico to help the Hispanic/Latino interest in Smackdown. I am not aware of an active initiative to bring in new tag team wrestlers.

Do you think there would be a difference in the Divas division in WWE if Lita or Trish Stratus came back?

Lita and Trish Stratus were very talented as I consider Trish one of the best Divas of all-time. However, I do not feel like the way WWE has pushed their Divas is because of a lack of talent. The company has had and still has talented Divas under contract. The reason they are featured like they are is Vince McMahon’s vision for the division.

Is there any update on the Funkasaurus Brodus Clay?

As I noted yesterday, I’ve been checking around as to why Brodus Clay has been yanked from television. While I haven’t heard back from my investigative source, the latest seems to be it is related to his in-ring work. I will update when/if I receive more information.

In ok with DelRio comment cause hé is à Heel it make sens. Is not like if Koffi said it. As far as tagteam go The King of Wrestling are coming to kick @## if they are giving time and opportunity.

    • XKonn247

Wow dude. Spell check is your friend.

    • David

Next time try to proofread your comment before posting. It took me a good minute to figure out what you said…. just saying

      • H.M.

It wasn't hard to understand what he was saying to me at least, but it was definitely poorly written to say the least lol.

    • Ilyas

Yeah,I agree with you,The Miz is like a little girl. He’s a stupid jerk.

  • Lorna Adair

Clay no competition only Tyler Reks gave him a bit of a fight

  • Jay

Pull Clay for his in ring work, put Khali in the Elimination Chamber. Makes sense

    • XKonn247

      Perfect sense!

  • AKAAK

    I like del rio.

Telling a story in a tag match is infinitely harder than in singles. Tag matches popped back in the day because they had gimmicks, no PG rating and three charismatic teams with great chemistry (3D, E&C and the Hardy’s). It’s a lot harder nowadays to make a tag story work and unless a concerted effort is made to push the division it won’t ever recover it’s past glories.

True, also when MNM, Paul London and Brian Kendrick feuding every week on Smackdown was really good. I remember I just watched Smackdown just to see those tags teams. It's a shame how the tags team are being booking right now, cause (and its just my opinion) the best way to attract new fans to wrestling is by giving them good 2 on 2 matches. My generation growth up watching the Hardy's, E&C, and they start loving wrestling, besides the fact that it was a non PG era.

It's interesting to hear Clay's removal from television may be related to his ring work, as I feel he is more than capable of putting on a great match.

Although he does spend more time gyrating in the ring than doing actual moves..

Haha I agree pull clay but khali in chamber is stupid. I understand why but khali couldn’t even do what brodus does lol. Also I hope the fact delrio was built up keeps him from being jobbed or embarrassed by wwe. He is an inring talent and a main guy. Put him on either roster he could be in a wwe title or hw title and everyone is fine with it. Wwe signing aaa wrestlers seems not to backfire but not the great long term pick ups I originally thought they were gonna be. I don’t see the tag team divsion looking good right now. Uso,colons, hunico camacho just seem so similiar. Uso’s though I know the difference of teammates most can’t and none of the teams cut promos or anything to branch out. I do disagree as a kharma and beth match would sell can you imagine a trish or lita against those two or nattie or tamina. I think those six would make divas divsion watchable if vince doesn’t just keep less than minute matches

  • Da KiDD

D*mn i miss Lita. Went on youtube and looked at old matches with her and said… WOW…. she fit so well with the Hardys

  • Dirk Mingler

Give Tyler Reks and Curt Hawkins a run at the tag team titles! They seem like a great team! I just wish Hawkins would stop his pissing and moaning about wanting a spot, he should
Follow in his friend Zack Ryder’s footsteps
    And just take it!

    • Guy Landau

They tried doing just that with the MidCard Mafia, but unfortunately that didn't work.

  • H.M.

Hawkins and Reks, Hunico and Camacho, Del Rio and Averno(hey, it could work!), McIntyre and Regal, Gabriel and Tatsu, The Kings of Wrestling, perhaps Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara whenever he comes back. I've just created 7 new tag teams. Hot dayum. Oh, and give them some solid and strong personalities. The smiley-face good guy tag team thing…yeah not working.

    See, that wasn't hard.

  • Bruce

Brodus Clay-hmmmm somebody call my momma-R U Kidding me-once the music stops and the match begins -no wrestling Big Brodus just falls on his apponent for the 1-2-3 as far as tag team wrestling- Duese+Domino-crake em in the mouth were my fAVORITE TEAM

  • BigMike

I liked it when Hawkins and Ryder wer a Tag team when they went as Hawkins/Ryder or as "The Major Brothers" lol

  • Kevin

Let me get this straight: The WWE brass give a good wrestler this STUPID "Funkasaurus" gimmick and then pull him from television because of his in-ring ability? They should have used him as the monster he is right from the start. When I first saw Brodus Clay on NXT, I immediately thought of King Kong Bundy. I thought that Brodus might be Bundy's son. If they had used him from the start in this role, he would still be on television, bucking up against guys like Mark Henry and the Big Show. Let him be who he is and things will be fine.

  • Nicola

I don't really care If I never see Brodus Clay again
