HHH's Rise To Power, Steiner Update, Why Rollins & Reigns Have Heat, WWE 2K14 Roster

How is Triple H perceived backstage in his inevitable succession of Vince McMahon?

A lot of the boys are high up on Triple H taking over for Vince McMahon because he is seen as one of them with a wrestling mentality. It's the "been there and done that" mentality and that he can relate to them. Hunter has received high marks for some of his early business dealings such as his revamp of developmental and facilitation of Bruno Sammartino to the WWE Hall of Fame. Below is what Chris Jericho said in February regarding Hunter's rise to power:

“To be honest with you, he’s [Triple H is] doing a great job. In the early 90s it’s no secret there was no love lost between he and I. We didn’t like each other, we didn’t get along. We had great matches, but there was always a personality issue. That stopped years and years ago and now I consider Triple H a pretty good friend. I’ll be completely flatly honest, I think he’s the right guy to take over the company. I think he’s prepared for it. He’s learning a lot about how to be the corporate guy. There’s so much more than just calling finishes and signing guys. He’s got to run the whole corporate side of it. Go to all the meetings, do all that stuff. I think it’s in very good hands if Vince ever retires or passes away.”

What is the latest on Scott Steiner?

Scott Steiner remains in a legal battle with TNA Wrestling over Twitter comments he made about Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff and company. As for wrestling he is taking independent dates but at 51 and a strained relationship with Triple H, I do not see a return to WWE.

Is there really heat on Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins? If so, what happened?

We broke the story here on WrestlingNewsWorld.com on July 15, 2013 about Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins having backstage heat after a confrontation with Randy Orton. Below is an excerpt from our original report:

"…we are told there is some backstage heat on Roman Reigns. While details are sketchy, it has something to do with a spot at a live event several weeks ago involving Randy Orton. Apparently Reigns confronted Orton over a blown spot and it rubbed him the wrong way. Seth Rollins was reportedly involved, but only in trying to tell Reigns it wasn’t a good idea to confront Orton in the first place. While it’s believed Orton was in the wrong, he still has a lot of backstage influence and it’s never a good idea to to complain on him or at him."

When will the entire roster for WWE 2K14 be announced?

As we reported here on WrestlingNewsWorld.com, the current plan is for the entire WWE 2K14 roster to be unveiled over SummerSlam weekend. I'm sure there will be an online component but it will likely take place as part of SummerSlam Fan Axxess. We'll have full coverage here at WrestlingNewsWorld.com.

I bet Randy was crushed to find out he wasn’t the star of Total Divas.

    • skidmark

best thing I’ve read in years.

      • K!NG

its more like John Cena is the star of total diva’s… and im not sure who is a better wrestler nikki bella or him?

        • Kris Mystery

Always someone to get in the Anti Cena shot. Pretty lame one at that.

    • TheBigKing1

      • Hercules Rockerfeller

No offense but you probably wished you thought of it, because that was clever.

  • Splat

So, Randy Orton was in the wrong but Reigns and Rollins get punished for it. That makes sense…

    • Avalanchian

Of course they were in the wrong because they went directly to Randy. We also don’t know the context of how it was approached either. Seniority trumps a great deal even in the real world of business out of wrestling. If I confronted someone and they got in my face it would more than likely be my job lost.

    • TheBigKing1

They didn’t get punished for it…if they did, they would’ve already lost their titles by now. Orton was wrong for whatever he did in the ring…but mistakes happen right? This isn’t playing musical chairs, this is a physical sport. How much times did RVD kick somebody’s tooth out, or busted a lip like he did Christian the other day? Cmon! So even if Orton made a mistake in the ring, you step to him correct. Maybe it was an accident, maybe it wasn’t, but like I said before, this isn’t musical chairs…accidents are bound to happen.

      • Tim

You should of told that to Orton when he killed kofis push and mr Kennedy’s wwe career

        • TheBigKing1

They both said he didn’t and wasn’t fully responsible…and they are not mad at him. Seems like the only ones who are, are ya’ll stupid idiot fans on here that believe every little thing ya’ll hear about the man…and take it and exxagerate it. SMDH!

  • Tim

Orton needs to go the hell away and fail another wellness

    • TheBigKing1

      • Tim

Hater or someone telling the truth.

        • TheBigKing1

How is that the truth. Ya’ll hating on Orton for no reason.

    • Hercules Rockerfeller

You know, I really don’t care about Randy Orton. He will not be the reason why I attend a wwe event. I think him winning the MITB matchh was a mistake. This match was design to elevate superstars not already established ones. He’s ring work is awesome, got no problem there. But his attitude sucks, you would think after having a kid, you would mature but guess not. But you know, wishing that he would fail a test and possibly ruin his career and life is foul man! I want him gone too but not that way. If he fails another test it will be because of his carelessness and stupidity and not because we prayed and wished and hoped.

      • Tim

I think he has earned for that to happen. For how much he has ruined other people’s career. So it’s just rightfull karma it happen to him

  • WyFo

So when RyBack blows a spot he’s screamed at and gets heat but when Orton does it, its fine and he’s awarded a MITB briefcase…? Im not a fan of RyBack’s ring work, but this is quite bias.

    • TheBigKing1

Wth are you talking about?? He got the briefcase weeks ago, you clown!

      • Guest

He’s talking about last weeks RAW when Ryback was supposed to catch Daniel Bryan and power bomb him through the table but botched it.

  • Clint

lol I remember anderson botching a spot and he was let go, I remember Kofi botching a spot and Orton derailed his push all the while screaming stupid, and Orton botches and cant handle getting yelled at

  • Rayner Chee-bai

That cost Ken Anderson his job and Kofi Kingston’s push just got derailed. This time it’s his total fault and someone’s still got the blame? Just strike another wellness and lose the MITB briefcase already. TNA is the best place for you Randy….

  • Hercules Rockerfeller

You know what’s amazing about the wwe games? The price! I’ve been waiting for WWE 13 to go down and it’s still the same price it was last year when it came out. I really wanted to play 13 before I bought 14 which is looking better by comparison. They need to lower the price of these games! 70 bucks for a game is ridicules.

    • x

I don’t where you live but where I live you can get that game for about $30 brand new.

      • Hercules Rockerfeller

Really? Where is it that you live?

    • BIG M

AT least you don’t live in Australia mate the games are over $100 here.

  • Stoney

Sometimes I don’t get how WWE politics work, here’s a few examples:
    1. John Morrison gets held down because he didnt stand up to Batista for sleeping with his girlfriend, or was it for his attitude towards Trish stratus
    2. Alex Riley’s push was derailed because Cena ribbed him to the point he couldn’t take it anymore and stood up to Cena
    3. AW fired for a Kobe Bryant joke when WWE has done way worse like necrophilia storylines, fat jokes about bickie Guerrero, Vince mocking JRs Bell’s palsy and picking on a one legged wrestler
    4. Miz held down because of low buyrates at survivor series 2011 where the main event was Cena/Rock vs awesome truth. The episode of raw before that it was Cena vs awesome truth in a handicapped match. They could’ve made awesome truth look strong but booked Cena like superman and beat them both on his own.
    5. Drew McIntyre held down because of his ex wife.

    • Stoney

      * vickie

    • Tim

Maybe that’s why no one takes wwe serious outside a certain group of its own fan base.

  • Alexi

Why does there always seem to be drama with Orton? He needs to get over himself, he’s not worth the trouble cause honestly, he’s not much of a draw.

  • BIG M

Is anybody else worried about a pro wrestler running a billion dollar corporation I mean yeah the H man has done amazing things thus far from developmental to contract negotiation but lets be honest developmental is creative stuff and being a former wrestler negotiating his own contracts years ago he knows what wrestlers want MORE MONEY LESS DATES.
Does he really possess the knowledge to run WWE I always thought Stephanie would run the corporation and HHH would run creative after VKM goes.
Stephanie has been in the business world for what 15 years now how long has the H man been doing it 15 months.
Im no business man not even a stock holder but Im sure other people have asked the same question can he do it.

    • Guest

Are you stupid? Triple H has been training for a while to be in this position. And for the he use to wrestle thing that only helps him as mentioned above.

  • monty

it’s amazing how much heat orton gets from IWC, some of you need to stop hating yes he had made some mistakes but he makes wwe a lot of money because fans like him. we the core fans can boo all we want but bottom line is we are very small compare to what wwe is targeting which are the casuals fans who don’t visit sites daily to keep up

he is still young and under a long term contract so it only makes sense that wwe would build him back up which they have done over the past 12-15 months

I for one still consider him the 1B of the company if cena is the 1, for all the cm.punk lovers he is still #3 or 4

wrestlers like orton and cena and even now DB connect with fans and not just IWC fans

  • monty

anyone who becomes big and starts to win many titles and be put in the main event picture gets hate from IWC simple as that. its a damn multi billion dollar business so no wwe can not push your cm.punk all the damn time

  • Jbreed

Randy Orton needs somebody to whip his ass then maybe he could get over himself. And I think Roman Reigns is one guy who could put Orton in his place.
