Intercontinental Champion Injured At SmackDown Taping

WWE.com just reported that Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett suffered a separated right shoulder Tuesday night in Pittsburgh at this week’s SmackDown taping. Below is what was posted on dot com:

WWE.com has confirmed that Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett suffered a shoulder injury during Tuesday night’s SmackDown taping.

WWE physician Dr. Chris Amann spoke to WWE.com about the titleholder’s condition, explaining that the English Superstar ” … sustained an injury to his right shoulder when he was thrown into the barricade by Jack Swagger.”

“After Barrett felt an immediate pain and a pop,” continued Amann, “we brought him back to the training room and the exam showed a separated shoulder. We’re going to do some additional testing this week and then sit down with him and talk about options for treatment for this injury.”

As of yet, no official determination has not been made yet in terms of Barrett’s participation in Sunday’s Money in the Bank Contract Ladder Match.

Check back with WWE.com for more details as they become available. And don’t miss SmackDown this Friday at 8/7 CT to see how it all went down.

    “classic swags…”

…and people still wonder; why Swagger still featured on TV every single week? Funny as to why Ziggler’s push got derailed and never got the trust of the higher ups because he’s ”injury prone” and yet the cause of the injuries got away clean everytime. hope Barrett’s injury is not that serious and returning ASAP

    • Patrick

I have to agree WWE needs to do something about Swagger he is causeing
to many people to get injuryed..yet they ignore him and lose faith in
      the person who was injuryed.

  • Simon Veitch

And once again Swagger injures someone else. This is beyond a joke, he’s proven time and again he can’t be trusted to work safe and still gets featured every week. Sucks for Barret as he seems to get hurt whenever he’s on the verge of something big

WWE needs to release Swagger. He has caused too many injuries and he is just plain boring. They need to put Zeb Colter with someone else.

And to think Swagger gets to be in the MITB contract match. Can he injure all 5 others? Subscribe to the WWE Network and find out.

    • Vic Jose

Barrett is the one who threw himself into the barricade

  • Scott Davies

Hey Richard you should re-do the title of this bit of “Bad news” in his catch phrase instead.

    • Rayner Chee-bai

I see what you did there

  • Nick k

And yet none if us have seen it to come up with the conclusion that it was swaggers fault, oh the internet.

History is the best way to predict the future, and swagger as injured many, including derailing Dolphs career

  • BIG M

Well this sucks just as BNB was starting to pick up steam.
Hope He’s not out for long.

  • GODSENT68

I mean it sounds like a spot where they are both to blame, hate to say bnb more so cause he knew what it was and didn’t position properly but only watching the match will tell. Then again could be the WWE machine saying WOW he won the mitb with a busted shoulder

  • jason witten 82

Let’s hope bnb comes up with some good news for once, the guy poor guy was just getting back on track. Fingers crossed

Terrible for Barrett, no doubt. Seems to always get injured as soon as he starts to get momentum. The silver lining to this, however, is that he has the perfect gimmick to keep him on TV while he heals. It’s a shame to see his momentum stopped like this, but having him back at the podium for a few weeks wouldn’t be the worst thing that could happen.

    • David F

WWE got rid of podium due to budget cuts. I do agree though Bad News can stay on tv insulting everyone in sight. Sucks for Barrett though, him and Ziggler stole the show on RAW

  • Mike Brailsford

Unfortunately in situations like this, Barratt’s catchphrase will come back on him.

  • 1molly23

    Thwagger strikes again!

  • Stephen Cash

I think it is way past time for swagger to lose his job…. This is pathetic….

  • Cubed56

Well I do have good news for you guys. Having separated my shoulder on numerous occasions playing football, as long as the x rays I’m sure he’s gonna have show no structural damage BNB could be back in 2-4 weeks 6 at the most.
