Janice Carter Sent A Memo Out To TNA Employees About The “For Sale” Rumors

Reports surfaced earlier today that Janice Carter sent a memo out to TNA Wrestling employees about the whole company shaking “for sale” rumor that most wrestling NEWZ sites covered earlier this week. Richard Gray touched on the subject in Monday’s Ask WNW and I wrote a whole article on the subject here.

I was told by my source inside the company that a memo was indeed sent out by Janice Carter. My source told me that the memo consisted of two things. First, she praised the whole new creative path they are going. The company is planning to continue the “24/7 Where the Action Never Ends” creative direction. Second, Janice confronted the “for sale” rumors and said the company is, “Not for sale,” and that, “They were in it for the long haul.”

Can I just get some clarifcation as to what Newz sites are and how they operate? I read wrestlinginc.com on occasion, but when you look at EVERY other wrestling site no exceptions, every story is copied word for word, sentence for sentence and pargraph for paragraph. Are all these sites run by the same people maximising their page views for ad revenue, or do they just steal from each other? Which of the newz sites produces original reportage? Is Wrestlinginc a thief of content too?

    • Jesse Sherwood

Josh, a lot of the wrestling sites out there are as you say, a cut and paste job to get hits and ad revenue. Sadly, there are very few sites out there that do their own reporting, however, WNW prides itself on first run reporting and original articles. If you ever see anything that has been copied from here, let Richard know. I can’t say directly for the site you state, as I do not go to other sites, but let me at least direct you to Richard’s fantastic guide as to how to distinguish a NEWZ site and to recognize plagiarism.

I’ve learned just because they tell you you’re not for sale doesn’t mean your not..the company I worked for just recently sold us and they kept telling us until the end the “sale” rumors were false..they didn’t even tell us when they sold us we found out first through an article in the news

They aren’t going to say anything concerning a sale out loud because it’s a morale killer. They won’t say a word until they actually do it.

This is very true. There is only one other place I go to that doesn’t bullshit on their reports in which that it was confirmed that there is some sort of big investor that is coming from outside the wrestling business.

Not sure if anything has changed at the moment so I couldn’t say if the particular investor backed out or what but reports surfaced that because of this that this obviously takes away from both WWE and even Viacom aren’t in the running to purchase TNA even though they are the highest rated program on Spike besides Bellator.

My only worry is that if this investor is coming from outside that TNA will be run more like when Turner bought WCW from JCP but didn’t micromanage it and we all know the outcome of that. The parallels between WCW and TNA are there and it could be only a matter of time before they end up with the same fate as WCW but that of course is just speculation and we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

That was my point no company is stupid enough to say they’re selling you the quality of work will go down because everyone won’t care anymore

Well that’s just bad news! I was really hoping that the sale rumors were true. When they say they are in it for the long haul, I take from that they have just begun to drive TNA into the ground. I wish they would just admit defeat and let it go to someone who can actually do something with it. Before there isn’t anything left worth saving.
