Jerry Lawler is not on announce at this week's "Old School" episode of Monday Night Raw in Baltimore, however, he is backstage at the Baltimore Arena.
As we reported here on WrestlingNewsWorld.com, Lawler was taken to a local hospital in Baltimore on Monday afternoon after throwing up.
The announcing duties for this week's Raw are being handled by Michael Cole and JBL. Cole said Lawler is "under the weather" but his heart is OK.
In a WWE App video, Josh Mathews provided a further update by introducing Jerry Lawler. Lawler said after you have had a cardiac arrest you can't have a nap without someone thinking you're dead. Jerry said his lunch didn't set well with him and he threw up earlier in the day.
The next thing he knew he was taken to the University of Maryland Emergency Room where they ran blood tests. The tests revealed he has a stomach bug and is going to be OK.
Lawler said he's backstage having fun with the legends and ran into Nikolai Volkoff, who said he had the skin of an 18-year-old. Lawler joked, saying he better give it back because he was getting it all wrinkled. He said you never know, he might do a run-in.
Richard Reacts: Well that's a relief! That was a great segment with Jerry Lawler using his humor to make light of the situation. There was a bit where he acted like he was going to throw up on Josh Mathews and Mathews really did flinch. Good stuff and most importantly, glad to see Jerry is OK.
