John Cena Legitimately Injured On Raw

John Cena suffered a left knee injury on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. The injury occurred while working with The Wyatt Family on a spot with Erick Rowan. Rowan lifted Cena on a takedown and as soon as it happened, a ringside medic checked on Cena. Cena grabbed his knee and went to the apron but waved off further medical attention. He got back up with the help of the ropes, visibly limping, and sold a clothesline from Bray Wyatt.

When the show came back from commercial, Cena was being loaded on a stretcher and wheeled to the back. A camera shot appeared to show swelling in Cena’s knee. On commentary, Jerry Lawler shifted the discussion to Cena’s knee and JBL questioned his status for Wrestlemania XXX. That’s a valid question but no one wants to ask at this point.

You can watch where the injury occurred at the 2:55 mark in the video below:

John Cena injured again? I guess he’s going to calm down and stop taking risks!

    • Anand Vijayakumar

He has too. He has been doing this for far too long without sufficient breaks…

      • BIG M

I think that’s the real problem he always comes back from injuries too quick and he never takes any time off just to recharge like most other top Pro Wrestlers

    • Mr Jack

Yeah man. I mean, what a risk, a takedown.

  • Andy Cross

Have to give him his dues, he kept going even after the injury.

  • Venom

I read elsewhere it had something to do with Rowan putting his weight on it during the beatdown and tweaked it.

  • Chris

I’m praying that it is not a quad tear.

    • BIG M

More likely a ligament tear or worse case scenario a petella tendon tear.
But none of us a doctors for all we know it could just be a bad sprain.
Don’t have to be a doctor to know
Spraind joints swell up pretty quick.

Rowen picked Cena up by his leg when Harper was throwing him down causing it to hyper extend bad. It looked really swollen when they showed him on the stretcher. Doesn’t look too good. 100% Rowens fault and I’m sure he will get backstage heat for it.

A knee injury for sure unfortunately

  • Paul Jameson

we get 5 weeks of Cena promos and rest, I can handle that. But there is no WAY Cena misses WM 30. He’s too invested personally.

    • BIG M

He will miss Mania if its serious I mean like surgery serious.
Maybe jumping the gun here but if its that bad and he needs surgery not even Cena can come back from knee surgery in 5 weeks.

      • JR Texx (Jamie)

        I bet he could.

        • Mr Jack

SuperCena is only the wrestling character. A surgery is real life.

Guess you haven’t been paying attention. Lately, it seems like even HE can’t separate Cena the man from Cena the character. If it’s legit enough to warrant surgery, I’d be willing to bet he comes back in 4 and 1/2 weeks (just to cut it really close.)

          • Anand Vijayakumar

With Mania being so close and Punk no longer a part of the active roster, I think WWE needs Cena more now. They cant afford to have Cena take time off for surgery. Maybe he will take a break post Mania…

Looks like a ACL injury, they swell up fast, been there done that.

    • Mark J.

You can see on replay where/how he hyperextended his knee. He’ll need 2-4 weeks of physical therapy before doing any serious running. That’s cutting it close.

And shame any of the IWC (mostly on other sites) who cheer this stuff. Cena has more heart than most of the guys on the roster.

Hope Cena is ok even if I am not fan of his I respect him and it sucks that he gets injured this close to Mania. This is big blow to WWE. Shield v Wyatts II at WM 30 is always option if Cena cant go
