John Cena & Stephanie McMahon On Panel At SXSW 2013

WWE announced on Tuesday that Stephanie McMahon and John Cena will take part in a panel discussion at SXSW 2013 in San Francisco to discuss how WWE uses social media to connect with fans. Below is the official press release:

Stamford, Conn., and San Francisco, Calif., February 5, 2013 – WWE, (NYSE: WWE) a sports entertainment company, and Echo, the first and largest real-time web platform provider, today announced that they will share the strategies behind WWE’s award-winning digital programs at SXSW 2013. The panel will feature a candid discussion with WWE Superstar John Cena, the third most followed U.S. athlete on Facebook and Twitter with more than 17 million fans combined, and provide insight into how the 10-time WWE Champion utilizes social media to extend WWE’s brand and connect with fans.
WWE recognizes the tremendous opportunity that social media presents to extend storylines, deliver exclusive content and develop new characters, while enabling fans to connect directly with their favorite Superstars and WWE.     They released WWE Active in early-mid December. Below I have added a link to my web site and a project I did in school in late August that I sent to WWE, asking them to create something like this and that I would like to be apart of it.

    The feature they created almost mirrors the one I created, feature, for feature. Of course, mine was a 2 week project with just me.

    Let me know what you think. Did they just steal my idea, or was it already in the works?
