John Cena vs. The Rock Set For Wrestlemania 29

John Cena

John Cena beat CM Punk in a #1 contender match on this week’s WWE Raw and will challenge The Rock for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 29.

Rock Tweeted the following:

Wrestlemania 29 will take place Sunday, April 6, 2013 from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Richard Reacts: A #1 contender match rendered the 30-man Royal Rumble match pointless but that was awesome work by John Cena and CM Punk. Anyone that says Cena can’t work needs to check that one out. He’s worked several others, but this is fresh.

Worked? Timing was poor, poor attempts at moves. Momentum and punk carried him

    • Steve

Yup, Punk’s timing helped him execute a piledriver to near perfection, clown

      • Rich

Yep, punk. Cena was poor in the offensive moves.

        • Kris Mystery

That is one of the most ridiculous comments ever on this site.

  • Jeff Ono

Cena held his own. Enough with the “You can’t wrestle” chants. He’s better than Hogan or Warrior on technical wrestling, and they weren’t booed. WM 29 main event will be entertaining and memorable. Those who are queer for Punk can expect a great match with Taker.

  • Masch

Yeah..Especially Cenas Hurricanrana was Awesome…WrestleMania Main Event will be poor wrestling, i don’t care about Cena or Rock…

  • Chris

What a pointless match!!! Not wasting money on that crap!!!

Cena would be a great worker if the shackles were taking off him, but this is WWE, & everyone has to work to a character. This is why indie promotions like ROH, Chikara etc. more often than not, have excellent matches. They don’t put restrictions on their workers in the ring, where as WWE do.

This is why you never see Brock Lesnar pulling off high flying moves like the shooting star press on a regular basis.. It just wouldn’t fit his character.
