JR Discusses Whether CM Punk Turned Heel, Says That Steve Austin Hopes To Be Fully Healed By January, More

Jim Ross has a new blog entry available on his official website. Below are some highlights:

-Is @CMPunk now a wrestling villain? Depends on who you ask and what side of the aisle one sits. Punk made a great deal of sense on several points he addressed when speaking on Raw Monday night. However, I do see the talented wrestler traveling in the direction of the 'badlands' or so it seems. Nice reason to stay tuned.

-Do I like the three hour Raw broadcasts? So far, yes. As long as the shows are entertaining, unpredictable and feature ample in ring action, I think I will be fine with it but that extra hour really leaves little margin for error. I'm hopeful that the three hour format facilitates more, new athletes being introduced on the flagship show. Our society in general has little patience which is why, I assume, that major motion pictures are in the 2 hour plus range.

-Adam Sandler is going to have to shoot around Steve Austin's bad wheel in Grownups 2 this week. Steve is in Massachusetts now filming with an all star cast and a bum leg. @steveaustinBSR hopes to be fully healed by January.

Surprise Royal Rumble entrant, maybe this is where his fued with Punk starts and leads to a Mania match

Ah, Good Old J.R., so trusting and naive about the three hour Raw.
It won't be more entertaining, unpredictable, in ring action with new athletes being introduced on the flagship show. It will be more boring, predictable, shameless self-promotion, full of recaps and Rebounds, with new athletes being relegated to a show that doesn't even have US TV clearance.
Call me cynical, but Raw1001 set a sad precedent for the three hour format, and I don't mean the set fire.
Unfortunately, J.R., you, like the rest of us, are likely to be disappointed in Raw1002+.

Unless they tone down the PG quite a bit!

        Can always hope…

a lot of people says a lot of bad things to vince,, his decisions,, but they still watch the product and tune for raw every monday. Ans wwe is still growing outside the US. And by a lot margin is the best wrestling promotion in the country. Is like people said: "you never get the audience satisfied and you can never give everybody waht they want"

I complain a lot, but I still watch every week, but the reason I watch every week is simply because I've been watching wrestling for about 30 years. It's routine now. It's almost OCDlike in its routineness. I'm a little like those fat redneck women who stay indoors all day and 'watch their stories'. I watch wrestling because I always have done. With the state of the WWE's current product, if I hadn't been watching for so long already, I wouldn't start.

I don't think he turned heel, I think he just turned into another John Cena.
