Kane’s New Role In WWE, Coach Talks Locker Room Incidents In WWE, Ever Update, Off-Air Smackdown, The Call Nominated

- WWE announced through a mobile alert that Triple H has “appointed” Kane the new “Director of Operations” of the company.  This is a lead-in to this week’s kayfabe Michael Cole interview with Hunter online now here at dot com. Obviously the role is part of Kane’s new role with the corporation faction.

- Jonathan Coachman filled in for Colin Cowherd on “The Herd” Wednesday on ESPN Radio. In a segment with Mike Golic where they were discussing the Richie Incognito/Jonathan Martin incident, Coach briefly spoke about incidents in the WWE locker room. Coach mentioned there were some people that others had to “standup for themselves” in front of others but didn’t elaborate.

- Dot com has a “where are they now?” interview with Eve Torres. Click here to read it.

- Xavier Woods beat El Local (the masked luchador gimmick of Ricardo Rodriguez) prior to Tuesday’s WWE Main Event/Smackdown taping in Charlotte, North Carolina.

- “The Call” was nominated for Favorite Thriller Movie in the People’s Choice Awards 2014. The film, considered to be the first hit under the new strategy of WWE Studios, starred Halle Berry with David Otunga in a supporting role. The People’s Choice Awards air on CBS on January 8, 2014. Richard, does this mean Kane is done in the ring?

    • Mysterion

It means you’ve bought into the storyline.

  • George

As a Kanenite, I’ve seen him bury the Undertaker alive twice, impregnate Lita, beat up Rey Mysterio just to steal his mask, impersonate Hogan and the Rock, the infamous Katie Vick and so many other bizarre and entertaining things that I either loved or painfully had to endure because of crappy writers. However as weird as it sounds, even though he is a known Libertarian and one of the most intelligent men in the business, putting him in a suit and tie instead of dressing like a monster optionally wearing a mask may be the most stupidest thing creative has ever done to the character in my opinion

While I hate it too. If Austin the rock triple h and undertaker did it why not Kane right.

Because those were actually good swerves that actually had some sense. I don’t understand WWE logic when it comes to Kane though. First Mark Henry injures him and then creative has him go after Cena. Then the Wyatts injure him, he attacks back months later, and then creative has the bright idea to have him join HHH and Steph all of a sudden. I don’t mind swerves, but I hate these random curve balls they throw using Kane and I’m sick of it. I get he’s a crazy pyschopathic monster and no one knows what he’s thinking, but just give him something straight forward storyline to do, like I don’t know, get revenge on the people who “injured” him in the first place!

I just hope that in the end Kane turns on the corp or feuds with the top good guy. Be it Bryan or show or someone for at least one more title reign.

            Ditto

Have you ever watched the old television show, “In Living Color”? If so, do you remember Homey the Clown? Remember the season ending episode where Homey put on a suit and joined “The Man”, despite the fact that he had been dissing “The Man” for season after season? In the next season, Homey eventually bops “The Man” with his sock, then explains that he only “sold out” in order to get close to “The Man” so he could bop “The Man”. Perhaps someone on WWE’s creative team is remembering this, and we will eventually see Kane “bop The Man”. In this case, however, it would be a chokeslam instead of a sock, and “The Man” would be HHH.

I find it mind boggling how Kane first came in as Undertaker’s younger brother, having to wear a mask because his face was badly scarred to now, in a business suit as Director of Operations for the Authority… with his face miraculously fixed.
