Kurt Angle recently spoke with DigitalSpy.com, where he gave his thoughts on CM Punk fighting in UFC and Ronda Rousey’s loss to Holly Holm. Below are the highlights:
CM Punk fighting for UFC:
“You don't know how he's going to do. CM is a fighter - I've heard he is training the right way, but you don't know what you're going to get. But he will draw, he will draw, and we'll see how he does."
"He says he's a young 37 years of age, but with all the bumping he's been through... I know how my body feels! I wouldn't say he is a young 37, I think that he's a beat-up 37, but he has been able to take the year off - that's going to help. I just don't know how good he is. I know he's training, but I don't know how good he is as a fighter. He's a great pro-wrestler, but fighting is a different story.”
Ronda Rousey and her loss to Holly Holm:
"Yes, she did lose. I think she definitely scouted Holm the wrong way. Whether she prepped herself for Holm's style? I don't think she did. But Ronda Rousey is a legend and when girls, when women get into fighting, and they want to be like anybody, they're going to want to be like Ronda Rousey, nobody else."
"Ronda Rousey is a huge name. She's drawn just as much money as any other male fighter and people have paid to see her fight for 15 seconds. You knew that she was going to kill the girl and you still bought the pay-per-view. That shows that Ronda Rousey is huge in MMA and she's a huge household name and shouldn't be ashamed of anything."
