Latest On WWE’s Negotiations For New Domestic TV Licensing Agreement

NBCUniversal has until midnight on Friday to accept or reject WWE’s final offer to continue as their domestic television partner. If rejected, formal negotiations and bids with other networks can start taking place on Saturday.

We learned in December (through a Variety exclusive) that WWE had already reached out to or met with people from A&E, Disney, Viacom, 21st Century Fox and Discovery.

While WWE had expected a lot of suitors lined up for their domestic TV rights, we reported exclusively here on WrestlingNewsWorld.com that it was currently a race between NBCUniversal and Viacom following an exclusive negotiating period with their current partner. WWE’s talks with Turner and Fox were not believed to be significant enough to reach an agreement.

WWE is expected to select its media partners by March 4, 2014. Should a move happen, it would not go into effect until October 2014.

If Viacom wins can see Turner and NBC given two very small deals too TNA but, I think that would give TNA more exposure and that’s what they really need. (or just wishful thinking)
