LeBron James To WWE, MITB At Wrestlemania, Batista’s Return Storyline & Contract, WM30 Plans For Undertaker & Daniel Bryan

We all know that LeBron James is a wrestling fan, could you see him having a role in WWE after he retires from basketball?

LeBron James is so athletic he could pick his sport and excel at it and yes, I think he would have success in pro wrestling. NBA players have made the transition in the past and WWE would more than welcome King James to their world, however, he’s got plenty left in the tank and is focused on winning NBA titles at the moment. WWE has actually wanted to get LeBron involved in a storyline for a major pay-per-view but the hangup has been with scheduling. The thinking is WWE would have to do it at SummerSlam before the start of the NBA season; however, there is nothing in the works between the two parties at this time.

With only one main belt now, is there a possibility (the thought comes up every year) to do a Money in the Bank match at Wrestlemania?

Anything is possible but I don’t see WWE doing the Money in the Bank ladder match at Wrestlemania due to the pay-per-view now carrying the stipulation. There was talk over the last couple of years the match could return to help bolster the Wrestlemania undercard but it never came to fruition. My thinking here is opposite as with only one title, that’s going to mean one less Money in the Bank ladder match so the company will work even harder not to overexpose it.

With the return of Batista, do you see a possible Shield vs. Evolution storyline happening? WWE has all the stars to do it.

WWE will look to utilize Batista in a main event singles role upon his return to the company. Evolution was a way to introduce him to the WWE audience as a main event competitor. That’s not to say we’ll never see Evolution again because we never say never but WWE will look to utilize his singles drawing power.

Is Batista coming back full time or part time?

Batista’s coming back under a part-time deal where he will work WWE live events. Remember it was his name included on advanced promotional material for WWE live events that spoiled his return to the company in the first place. This is Batista’s retirement tour that I’ve expected since he left WWE in 2010.

Do you think there is a strong possibility of Daniel Bryan facing Undertaker at Wrestlemania XXX?

Assuming The Undertaker is Wrestlemania ready, the preliminary plan is a singles match at Wrestlemania XXX against Brock Lesnar. Plans are subject to change, however, I haven’t heard Undertaker vs. Bryan mentioned. Vince McMahon still wants to do Daniel Bryan vs. Shawn Michaels if Michaels will agree to work. If not, expect to see Bryan work Bray Wyatt.

From the Ask WNW vault…

February 2013: How much will the WWE Network cost? – There was a major development in the WWE Network recently as DirecTV has begun surveying customers about their interest in the network. As I stated in the Premium Mailbag, a deal with DirecTV would mean enough clearance to launch. In their survey to customers, DirecTV listed the following price points: $29.99, $24.99, $19.99, $16.99 and $12.99. We heard (and reported) WWE was hoping to launch the network at a cheaper price and raising it through incremental increases.

The next installment of Ask WNW is scheduled to run on Monday, January 6, 2014.

Expect Bryan to work bray watt. Are you serious. Are the odds that he won’t be in a championship match for the title really that slim?

  • ohyoudidntknow

Not interested in bryan vs wyatt at WM. I would rather see him go against punk, michaels or john cena for the title.

    • John

One bizarre rumour that i saw recently was that John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt is possible for WrestleMania!

      • Bob’s Diner

I seriously doubt that is going to happen. To go from how many WrestleManias where he wrestled for the WWE title – not to mention the last 3 headlining the event with The Rock – to wrestling a relative new midcarder would be a massive step down for the face of the company. people forget that Bray Wyatt only debuted on the main roster 6 months ago and I can’t imagine WWE has faith in the guy to main event WrestleMania so early in his career

        • BIG M

Especially since Bray’s only worked 4 matches in that 6 month period.
I love the Wyatt family gimmick but its way to early for him to be headlining Wrestlmania.
My guess is The Wyatt’s and DB attack everyone that wronged Bryan or stood in his way including CM Punk and Brie Bella to make it look like he’s really turned heel.
Then at the Rumble Bray and Bryan are the last 2 guys in the Rumble match after the family eliminates everyone.
Bray expects Bryan to take a fall as gratitude for everything Bray’s done for him.
Then Bryan eliminates him at its reviled that DB’s master plan was to use the Wyatt Family to clear his way to Mania and The Authority is livid.
Man even I could write WWE’s story lines how sad is that.

          • AJ Punk

Sounds good, but I don’t see this alliance only lasting 3 weeks. That’s a super quick storyline

          • BIG M

The alliance will last 3 weeks but the storyline could keep going till Chamber.
The Authority livid at what DB did grant The Wyatt’s multiple chances at revenge trying to take out DB before Mania culminating in some stipulation match at Chamber like DB having to defend the title shot at Mania against Bray, Rowen, Harper and 2 others (possibly Shield Members) in a Chamber Match for the Mania Main Event spot.
I have a feeling Orton might drop the title at Chamber too not sure against who yet but it might be set up a big post Mania feud with the Authority and said Champion if he then drops it to Bryan at Mania.

          • Padres4life

Bryan is never ever again winning the title…far too many main event players going for the championship now, Bryan is lost in the shuffle and wont’ get a chance…..Batista, Orton, Cena, Lesnar, Punk, not to mention Langston and Reigns will get their shots this year…there is no room for Bryan…we’ll just take what we can get now..he’ll continue to be in meaningless feuds.

          • Jonathan Salcido

Why not? They unified the belts in about 2 weeks. Lol

          • AJ Punk

            Haha yeah that is true!

        • John

I agree that it would be a strange decision to do that match… However i continually read the latest “Wrestlemania plans” on various websites (WNW included) and John Cena is never on the list of matches.

          Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar.
          Batista vs. Randy Orton.
          Daniel Bryan vs. Shawn Michaels.
          Triple H vs. CM Punk.
          John Cena vs. ?????????.

          • GOR

John Cena vs shamus [the new Authority guy !],
Cena vs Goldberg [if he returns].
Cena vs Ortan vs Batista [3 of the biggest stars after Attitude era].

n please DX vs Bryan n punk ! That will reduce the size of top card.

          • Bob’s Diner

No offence… but all those matches look terrible. This isn’t 2005. Daniel Bryan and CM Punk shouldn’t be wasted at the biggest show of the year in a tag match against 2 old guys – 1 that only wrestles part time and the other that hasn’t wrestled in 4 years. I’d rather see them put on a great match against each other or in singles competition so we know we are getting at least 2 great matches at the show

          • JR Texx (Jamie)

He’s probably a back up plan till the last minute, if Undertaker isn’t going to be at WM, I’m sure they will make Cena take his place against Lesnar.

          • Mark MacDonald

I read on this site lots and never made a comment, I think it is so funny to see you all shout about how no one gets a chance in WWE, How DB never got a break and keeps getting buried, How Zack Ryder deserved a shot at a mid card belt, How Dolph should get a massive push. BUT then no one would give Wyatt a shot at the headline shot at wrestlemania. Why not????? Let someone actually come in and blow you away, new talent that given the opportunity might actually erupt your mind.

          • Bob’s Diner

Richard has said on here countless times that the plan is HHH vs John Cena for WrestleMania. Not that I’m excited to see that yet again, but it is far more believable than Bray Wyatt – a guy that has even less experience than Ryback – main eventing the biggest show of the year against the face of the WWE.

Those might be matches you are hoping for, but the only one I see happening is Undertaker vs Lesnar. Provided Undertaker can do the match. Don’t forget Sheamus will be back at the top of the card by then as well…

  • http://www.braysballtalk.com/ Aaron Giddens

Well I see what you said Richard as all the more reason to drop the MITB specific PPV and put it back on WM, IMO.

    • Jay El Bee

But why get rid of the MITB PPV, it’s usually one of the best PPV’s of the year. Besides it’s not like WM needs any more selling points at the moment.

    • Bob’s Diner

I think it works like the Royal Rumble match – you get that one big gimmick match as the main event. Same goes for TLC, which is why I had no problem whatsoever with the main event being a TLC match and nothing else on the card using those gimmicks. Hell in a Cell too. It makes that match more meaningful.

WrestleMania sells itself. It doesn’t need a whole bunch of gimmick matches.

However, having a PPV dedicated to putting over the importance of winning a title shot?
Well that makes the MITB a bigger deal.
Plus gives us something to look forward to in the middle of the year. We don’t need 11 PPVs of the same thing over and over

  • WrestlingFan4Life

King of the Ring James, anyone?

  • DW

Omg! If HBK! Comes back to “save” DB I will pop so hard. (HBK is the equivalent of wrestling Jesus no?)

    • Bob’s Diner

Why do people want this? Daniel Bryan fans are always complaining about how he isn’t getting the push he deserves – myself included – then want Shawn Michaels to ‘save him’ at WrestleMania? That would mean he would be working as a HEEL and Michaels as the FACE. So in order to ‘save’ him, Michaels would have to win. How does losing to a guy that retired almost 4 years ago and hasn’t worked a match since make Daniel Bryan more of a star? He has lost to more than enough people in the last 6 months

  • Padres4life

so Bryan goes from beating Cena cleanly at Summerslam to probably facing Bray Wyatt at Wrestlemania? what a huge demotion that is. Very huge demotion. Also, Wyatt would obviously win that match and Bryan would put him over, which won’t help Bryan at all….The fans are deprived of that awesome WM moment for Bryan which is never coming. Where do you go after feuding with the Wyatts if you’re Bryan? You obviously don’t go to the main event after that. The WWE demoted Bryan and now the fans get to suffer by having him in a go nowhere feud…this feud helps the Wyatts, it doesn’t help Bryan because Bryan is clearly losing the feud. Like Triple H would allow Wyatt to lose to Bryan at WM when hes very high on Wyatt and wants him to be a top heel. So losing to a midcard act like Bryan in Triple H’s eyes wouldn’t be good…so either way, Bryan is screwed, good going WWE. Not to mention Bryan will be nowhere close to the title in 2014. What a fall from grace.
