Lex Luger On Sting Possibly Joining WWE, Darren Young Facing Antonio Cesaro On SmackDown

Lex Luger’s Thoughts On Sting Possibly Joining WWE

Promoting his newly released autobiography Wrestling with the Devil: The True Story of a World Champion Professional Wrestler – His Reign, Ruin, and Redemption, Lex Luger spoke to Queen City Sports about growing up in Buffalo, his accomplished wrestling career and current life. During the interview, the two-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion was asked if he could ever see Sting working for WWE in the future.

“As a friend I support whatever he does. As a fan I’d love to see him wrestle in the WWE someday,” said Luger. “Even if it’s just for one Wrestlemania. Him versus the Undertaker. Retire him and have him go into the Hall of Fame that same weekend. Man I’d love to see him and the Undertaker or somebody like that. I think the fans would love to see that.”

wow… Luger hit the nail on the head. Sting’s already outstanding wrestling career would be cemented if he does one Mania against Taker, win or lose…..

    • dean

sting is too old to work for wwe. he will be 55 in march 2014 and wwe is doing lesnar/taker at mania 30.
sting has his chance to join wwe in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 etc and it is HIS loss that he never joined wwe .

      • 1molly23

Lesnar vs. Taker is scary, Taker deserves so much more than having to deal with a man that walks away when his “chosen” careers don’t go the way he wants them to go, and has so little regard for his competitors.

        • dean

taker has been GAINFULLY employed by wwe since 1990.
think about the fact that taker has been employed by wwe for nearly 23 consecutive years.
taker wants the mania pay check and the more mony wwe makes on mania 30 via ppv buys, the more money will go into his mania pay check. taker will face lesnar if wwe wants the match to happen for business reasons.

          • Alex P

It’s August and you’re already assuming it’s going to be Taker/Lesnar at Mania. The WWE changes their ideas constantly and if they actually signed Sting they would completely do that over Lesnar. I mean you say that Sting is too old to work in the WWE, but we would be talking about one match. Ric Flair was working at a consistent level in WWE until 2008 and he was 59 for his Mania match against Shawn Michaels; not to mention that Sting is working at a much better level than Flair did at his age. Fans have been clamoring for years to bring Sting to WWE and if they actually signed him he would completely get a match against Taker.

Daren Young is either really smart or really lucky, in way event, his coming out has definitely help him get out from mediocrity because what I’ve been noticing is that him and Titus are being pushed as babyfaces.

    • PFA56

You realise of course he probebly came out to WWE management long before he came out publicly right.
Besides where does it say in the wrestling rule book that a gay bloke can’t be a heel.

      • Justin Lal

WWE doesn’t have the guts to make a gay person a heel. Back in the late 90s WWE didn’t care what the media thought and the product was better. Now WWE is PC, just like the media and product is limited because of that.

        • Hercules Rockerfeller

Exactly! Plus WWE wouldn’t dare now to even leave Daren off TV because they don’t want anybody to think that they are prejudist! Like I said, Darren is either really smart or really lucky! Someone mentioned on a podcast I listened the other day, he could have seen the writing on the wall and decided to do something. I agree with you Justin, WWE today will not push a gay wrestler as a heel because they don’t want to send out the message that gays are mean or bad ppl. Which is why they switched the PTP to babyfaces out of nowhere!

        • Matt

Please, I don’t like you anyway, but after the crap you used to post about homosexual marriage and the like can you refrain from any opinion on this matter? People like you who use a book written to brainwash idiots as an excuse to condemn another personas life style choice or creed make the rest of humanity sick. Then, you say it’s not homophobia but a belief. From where I’m sitting no difference.
