Brian Fritz interviewed Mick Foley Friday at Wrestlemania Axxess where he talked about his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Foley said he told Terry Funk that WWE might want a "more recent guy" to induct him but that he was his first choice. Foley said when it became apparent they weren't going to need anymore star power, he was able to get Funk as his inductor.
He then talked about the controversy that grabbed headlines earlier this week when it appeared that Foley's induction wouldn't be featured on the USA Network television special. Here's what Foley said directly.
"I did get a little angry when I thought my speech wasn't going to be televised. One thing I promised myself when I heard the WWE mention my book while I was not working for them. When I was working for a different company. I said, you know, if I'm ever asked to be inducted into the Hall of Fame I will gladly go and won't place any conditions on my entry. Then I started, 'hey wait a second.' And I regretted that and I apologized to a few people directly for that. One thing Kevin Dunn said to me Thursday, 'Mick call me. If you're upset about something, you've known me for 17 years, call me."
