MITB Ladder Match At Wrestlemania XXVIII?, The Great Khali's Push, WWE Network Update, John Morrison's Departure

Are there any plans to have a Money in the Bank ladder match at Wrestlemania XXVIII this year?

I have heard rumors that WWE officials were thinking about bringing back the Money in the Bank ladder match at Wrestlemania this year; however, I have been unable to confirm them through my sources. Last year was the first Wrestlemania since Wrestlemania XX in 2004 (the gimmick debuted at Wrestlemania 21 in 2005) that did not feature a Money in the Bank ladder match and I felt it was badly missed. The thinking behind taking it off the undercard is there is no need for it given the fact there are other matches that can be promoted and WWE can save the gimmick for the new Money in the Bank pay-per-view. When WWE created the Money in the Bank pay-per-view in 2010 they still had the match at Wrestlemania and that's the way I feel it should be handled this year.

Why did WWE put The Great Khali in the Smackdown Elimination Chamber Match?

We've had plenty of discontent readers email in, fuming over WWE's decision to push The Great Khali upon his return to the company. All I can tell you is Vince McMahon has always liked Khali because of his size and international appeal in India. At one point last year further expansion in India had become a priority, however, McMahon cooled on the idea later in the year and was willing to part ways with Khali. I can only speculate but perhaps WWE has taken notice of TNA's early success with Ra Ka King and are re-thinking their decision.

What's the latest on the launch of the WWE Network?

The proposed April 1, 2012 launch date of the WWE Network has been delayed. The hang-up has to do with the lack of clearances on cable and satellite systems. WWE went forward with a plan to promote the network despite no firm plan of clearances in hopes the public demand would help speed up negotiations with provides.  So far, no firm clearance plan is in place so the launch date has been pushed back. I'm hoping we will find out more in the investor conference call with Vince McMahon later this month.

Why did WWE release John Morrison?

John Morrison left on his own terms; WWE did not release him and actually offered him a new contract that he turned down. With his contract coming up, Morrison was suffering from burn out, nagging injuries and had issues with Melina (his real-life girlfriend) no longer being with the company. I heard he had plans to go to TNA Impact Wrestling with Melina but haven't heard anything new in awhile.

I really hate correcting people but it was actually wrestlemania 21 in 2005 where the first money in the bank match took place which was won by edge

    • wnwdotcom2

Right, but Wrestlemania XX was the last one WITHOUT the MITB match before last year's Wrestlemania XXVII.

to john brindle; If you could read, he said it debuted at WM21 back in 2005.

  • Jeff Ono

Kali is being pushed because McMahon wants to use him at WrestleMania 28. Why? Because he wants to increase PPV buys in India. It's not very complicated. All about money… and justifiably so.

    • Ranveer

Umm actually we don't "buy" PPV's here in India… they are shown here in the same way as Raw, SmackDown and all other WWE programming on TEN Sports….

The rumors I heard about MITB was that they wanted to hold one at WM where all the participants are former World champions. Hope it’s not true cuz then it will leave guys like Barrett, Cody, Kofi and R-Truth high and dry!

  • Jaryd

I think at last year's MITB was missed because the majority of the card was pretty poor. This year the card is shaping up to be a lot stronger and I would be in favour of leaving MITB off and giving the several big matches (2 world titles, the streak and Rock vs Cena) a lot of time.

I love the Great Khali, one of my fav wrestlers in the world.
