Mother Accuses Alberto Del Rio Of Bullying Her Son At Weekend Live Event

TMZ has a story online on Alberto Del Rio tearing a fan’s sign in half at a Smackdown live event in Anaheim last Saturday night. The mother of the fan, an 8-year-old child, is accusing Del Rio of being a bully and that her son immediately burst into tears and cried all the way home.

The woman, identified as Shelly Ehler, sent a letter to WWE over the incident and says Sheamus, who the sign was about, offered to send her child a signed photo.

Richard Reacts: This is ridiculous.  Absolutely ridiculous. Why didn’t she just explain to her  child that Del Rio is a “bad guy” and he was mad because her son was supporting Sheamus, the “good guy.”  Ugh, the things people will do for publicity.

    The problem is though she will probably get some sort of compensation from WWE because of the pg/family friendly image they want to portray. If she receives payment this could be another nail in the coffin, people will start making claims for everything.

    On another note well done del Rio. Its what heels should do. Its not quite forge level of bully Ray on impact a few weeks ago though.

    Some people just don’t understand that Alberto job is to make the fans hate him over the years I watched wrestling I seen countless wrestlers tear up signs that fans bring to the show

    Shelly you need a life. He’s a heel that’s his job to be a bully. Same thing happened to my daughter just made her root for Shawn Michaels that much more. Grow up its part of the show heel=bully=Dick.

    This is the height of Li'l Jimmy-ness. The worst part is, Del Rio doesn't have anywhere near the kind of heat that would make it even remotely legitimate for some little kid to get upset about something like this (maybe the little Hulkamaniacs did when Hogan turned heel, but that's about it). The worst part is the conciliatory attitude by Sheamus – why doesn't he just drop the whiter-than-white (pun intended) babyface shtick for once? They're turning their precious "WWE Universe" into sissies, basically.

    Can you ever, in your wildest dreams, imagine something like this taking place at an ECW house show? If you've seen Cena v. Van Dam at One Night Stand, I'm sure you'll join me in wondering how in the blue hell we've come from that to this.

    this is stupid doesn't the mother watch enough wrestling to know heels rip up signs from time to time as part of drawing heat.. she should have explained it to her son… instead of complaining about what happen. I've seen heels take signs from both adults and kids and they didn't cry about it.

    I agree with Richard the things some people will do to for publicity……what's next she going to sue WWE……she all ready made a $75k investment on "Tank" for her ShoNo towels what ever the hell that is.

    I think some of these people need to look into the dictionary and find out the definition of "bully." Did ADR physically abuse him? No. Did he verbally abuse him? No. Well it's not bullying. So calm down.

    It's called staying "in character". I'm not defending ADR – I'm just sayin'. I remember many, many years ago taking "the kids" to a live wrestling event (albeit local) – Ken Patera, Hulk Hogan, Dominic DeNucci, Tugboat McGraw, Greg Valentine – during intermission we went outside, and so did the wrestlers. Heels, Faces and fans all in one place – it was interesting to watch these athletes keep themselves in their respective roles and still be able to provide interaction with the fans. And no, there was no talk of bullying – this mother needs to explain life to her child – there's no way this child will make in the real world if she isn't taught how to manage and deal with all kinds of "personalities".

    I think it's stupid. Del Rio is playing his character (a BAD guy) like they've always been plauyed (Especially at live events). It's like traditional heel tactics to rip up a sign, one of the oldest one in the books. My God. Sheamus gives her sign a signed photo. Very classy and proffesional. How is THAT not good enough?!
