New TNA Champion, Kurt Angle Rehab Update, Next Themed Impact

New TNA Champion

For those that missed this week’s Hardcore Justice episode of Impact Wrestling, Bully Ray beat Chris Sabin in the steel cage main event to win the TNA Championship.

Tito Ortiz played a part in the title change, taking out Main Event Mafia member Rampage Jackson from behind, allowing Ray to hit the powerbomb on Sabin.

Kurt Angle Rehab Update

As we reported here on WrestlingNewsWorld.com, it was announced on TV that Kurt Angle is in rehab. Dixie Carter confirmed what we’ve already noted in that he entered the  facility two weeks ago. It’s unknown when Angle will be back to television.

Next Themed Impact

The next themed episode of Impact Wrestling will be No Surrender and it will take place Thursday, September 12 on Spike TV. The show will feature the final four of the Bound for Glory Series to determine who challenges for the TNA title at the pay-per-view in October.

did anyone else see that when they showed the graphics for no surrender during the tna championship match they showed a picture of bully ray with the title effectively spoiling the match that was taking place?

    • TheBigKing1

      I didn’t notice.

What was the point of strapping Sabin if he was going to drop it at the first available opportunity? They’re treating the belt like WWE treats the tag, US and IC titles. There was absolutely no meaning behind putting the belt on Sabin if they were going to put it back on Bully.

One to be honest Sabin should not have had it in the first place reason Sting should have won it in Boston a historic town for his last title reign, Two the show was good ( outside Rampage mic work, practice man practice) but, ( yes there a but) it was weekly good not PPV good and if u didn’t see what Titto did coming you r blind and whoever win the PPV the opposite will win in TNA. Now the Best is Bobby Rhoode he is the next Randy Orton and if after his next title they don’t play up Magnus vs Rhoode there not bright. Just me saying, but I think Sting will be the one pin (contract time) my opinion let Hulk go bring up a lot of the OVW’s and pay Sting just to hang around and find the money to bring in Shelton.

A little surprising they would talk about Kurt Angles situation on the air.
I was expecting them to just say Aces & 8′s jumped him on the way to the building or something.
Major respect for TNA not insulting our intelligence.

I was really starting enjoying Chris Sabin as World Champ, he should have had a 3 months reign at least, he was absolutely credible as champion, and would have been nice to see him defending the title against the bfg’ series winner at BFG.
