Jim Ross on Daniel Bryan vs. Seth Rollins

Jim Ross Tweeted the following after Daniel Bryan vs. Seth Rollins from this week's Raw:

  • Chris

Watching Bryan and Rollins, I kept thinking back to Undertaker and Michaels at WrestleMania. The match was in that territory. Amazed at the work in that match.

    • Jesse Sherwood

Absolutely! That was easily a WrestleMania quality match on free TV!

      • Chris

Still can’t get over the Surfboard/Dragon Sleeper combo.

        • Jesse Sherwood

That was an amazing hold, and one I hope we more of in the future!

  • Justin Lal

You guys are overvaluing the match as predicted. Great matches don’t have embarrassing botches like the rolling German suplex done by Daniel Bryan last night. How can you guys not point this out? For a guy that gets labeled as the best wrestler botches like that should not be happening.

    • Jesse Sherwood

Or maybe you are nitpicking one spot. Errors occur, but it really didn’t detract from the match in my eyes.

    • You are really picking on one tiny bit of what was a stellar match. Further, I just watched the move in question and it wasn’t botched. It did look a bit awkward, but only a bit. I really don’t understand why you’re attacking a few seconds of a 15 minute match, and the attack is unfounded as it wasn’t even botched.

Yes, Bryan looked a bit awkward at one moment in the role, but that bit of awkwardness does not a botch make. I don’t think we’re overvaluing the match, I think you’re undervaluing Bryan abilities. And, since we’re talking about this, no matter how great you are at something, it doesn’t mean there won’t be mistakes. Botches will happen to every wrestler, no matter how great they are, but this, Justin, wasn’t a botch.

      • Chris

Since Punk isn’t on TV right now, the “IWC darling” is Daniel Bryan, so he’s going to try to devalue Bryan. The problem is that Bryan is more than the hero of the IWC. When Jim Ross is saying the match is what anyone looking to get into the business needs to study, that says a ton.

A rolling german isn’t an easy move to pull off especially with danny being light ( in terms of weight) and then the person who is being toss must fit properly or the throw mite be a lil off to the side, the move wasnt botched. they were going at it fast paced and danny followed up wit a kicked right after. I only saw 2 mins of it and it barely touched danny potential in the ring but with wrestling it takes to to make a epic match

  • Mohan Ramnath

I want to see Danny vs Undertaker i think he deserve that wrestlemania moment, even if he losses. the match will surely be great

It’s funny how the best wrestler on the roster helped put on the most entertaining part of the show. You can take wrestling out of the company name, but when you take it out of the show, you’re just left with a bunch of crap. Which would you rather see – 15 minutes of VKM/HHH or 15 minutes of Bryan v. Rollins?
