Top ROH Star Doesn’t Get WWE Contract As Expected After Baseline Drug Test Reveals Elevated Testosterone Levels

Rumors are beginning to surface that Chris Hero was not signed to a WWE contract because he failed a drug test. I’m told the issue is actually a little more complicated than that.

WWE puts prospective performers through baseline testing before a contract can be signed. This is where the performer is tested for diseases and their testosterone levels are evaluated. According to one source close to the situation, Hero’s testosterone levels came back elevated. Hero cannot be signed until his levels test within the acceptable range.

    Well that's quite disappointing…

  • sforester

Well that explains it as I'm pretty sure that Castagnoli wouldn't have wanted to sign without Hero….I'm also sure that HHH (or whoever signed Castagnoli) wanted Hero along to revamp the tag division

your right it does Explain why Chris Hero has not yet signed. I hope he can sign at a later date when those issues are taken care of.

I really wanted to see him in WWE. Hopefully he can get tested again without the elevated levels.

Enough of the Antonio Cesaro crap. Bring on the Kings of Wrestling!

  • Jaryd

Hmm I'm not a doctor what does that actually mean? Does it mean he possibly has some sort of naturally elevated testosterone levels that could be a genetic issue?

    • wnwdotcom2

It means the usage of steroids was detected.

      • Renny

While that might be the case, it might also mean something like Jaryd mentioned, and have something to do with his genetics. Everyone's body produces things according to how their genes are, and maybe he naturally does have higher than the normal average levels.I'm not saying this to defend Hero at all if he might of taken anything, I'm just saying what else could be the case.

I'm not trying to disagree with you or say your wrong Richard, it just seems kinda weird that out of Claudio & Hero, that Claudio passed while Hero didn't.

Do you know if WWE is planning to test him again after a certain amount of time? Or has Hero blown this chance cause he failed this test?

They can tell the difference between synthetically-produced testosterone and naturally-produced testosterone. I don't know if WWE plans on testing him again or not as of this writing.
