WWE NXT Takeover news and notes...

- Rave reviews are pouring in for NXT Takeover as a top to bottom outstanding show. All of the bouts delivered, especially Tyler Breeze vs. Sami Zayn, Charlotte vs. Natalya and Adrian Neville vs. Tyson Kidd. And I don't care what anyone says, the Red Arrow is the coolest finisher in pro wrestling.

- For those that missed the show, Charlotte is the second ever WWE NXT Women's Champion, with the title previously held by Paige. Remember she didn't actually drop the title either but was stripped by NXT General Manager JBL in storyline because of her WWE Divas Championship win.

- Adrian Neville retained the NXT Championship against Tyson Kidd and Tyler Breeze became the new number one contender by beating Sami Zayn. CJ noted these earlier.

- Bayley beat Sasha Banks in a dark match prior to the show.

- Actor Kris Kristofferson and WWE legend Haku were among the guests in attendance. Haku is the father of Camacho, while Kristofferson's son, Jody, is Garrett Dylan.

- Here's a cool photo of Ric Flair and Bret Hart at the show:

Good to see Flair and Hart at peace with each other.

Hell of a show. All the performers should be proud of themselves. All bouts were awesome.

It seems like everytime my fandom of WWE begins to wane, they deliver something spectacular. This show was indeed awesome. I would pay 9.99 a month just to watch this show over and over again because it was that good. NXT is money.

Had i missed this show, I still would have gotten my 9.99 worth out of the fallout show that followed. Heyman is on an untouchable level right now and his interactions with both Nattie and TJ were great. But I didn’t miss the show, and it was by far better than at least 9 of the last 10 RAW shows I have seen. I liken this to College versus NFL football. NXT seems hungry, has huge passions and is working toward something, where as the RAW and Smackdown rosters (granted are impacted from creative…or lack thereof) have achieved their highest level so sometimes they “phone it in” and lose drive and passion. Not saying some aspects of Raw or Smackdown aren’t worth watching, but in comparing from the opening minutes to closing, this was a solid effort all around.

perfect example is Del Rio phoning it in. He is capable of so much more. I cant wait for Sami Zayn to be on the main roster. Even if WWE tries to humble him the crowd will love this guy

spot on, every word you said…

    • This is a great comment and absolutely true. However, we have to also consider the “hungry” NXT roster rarely gets these kind of opportunities whereas the main roster epitomizes over-saturation. Week in and week out the same talent roster (and same writers) is expected to fill 7 hours of original programming (counting Raw, Smackdown, Main Event and WWE Superstars). Take into account live events, pay-per-views, etc. and I believe the decline in quality can easily be attributed to the exhausting quantity.

  • Lebron James

Second NXT “PPV” that has destroyed anything the main roster has done in theirs. Awesome show!

Why would you give away Takeover on your website? It is a Network exclusive show!

So at least those of us in the other (195ish) countries of the world, without access, can get an idea of the greatness we missed. (I’m amazed this vid has not (yet) been region locked). – Thank you WNW, from the UK.

ps – You should/could just ask WWE, as this comes from *Their* YouTube channel. ;o)

If there are fans of Divas that don’t watch NXT they are missing out. Their matches are hands down better than anything you will see on Raw and SD.

Just sucks that you could easily see them calling spots. Not very good on the camera work when they would zoom up on their faces calling them.
