Ted DiBiase beat Braay Wyatt (formerly Husky Harris) in a dark match prior to this week’s Smackdown taping in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Wrestling News World reader Timothy McCardle attended and sent in the following notes:
I attended the taping in Hershey. I wanted to send a few notes about the show. One thing I think was missed in your spoilers was that during Main Event they showed a graphic for The Bella Twins and Rhodes Scholars vs. “Tons of Funk” and the Funkadactyls in a mixed tag match for WrestleMania.
It did appear as though the arena was a legit sellout. The crowd was pretty bad though. They were dead for most of the night, which is disappointing to me as I thought it was one of the best shows in a while, at least for a Smackdown. The crowd popped for Mick Foley. The only time the ENTIRE crowd came alive was when the Rock came out. after that they were basically dead.
The crowd had no idea who Bray Wyatt was.
When Antonio Cesaro came out and talked both times he uh, “sang”. Not sure if this was the first time, but it is the first time I picked up on it, mostly because it was awful.
Also Kane and Big E were just at ringside for the Kaitlyn and Bryan vs. Dolph and AJ
I was definitely impressed with the shows tonight. I am not sure if the awful house show I saw at the Bryce Jordan Center last year is clouding my judgment or not, but I though the shows have been lackluster recently. The Rock being there was a plus. While he is great on the mic and is entertaining, I am so annoyed with him coming out, running his mouth and leaving. They really should have booked him in some matches before the pay-per-views.
