On-Air Authority Figure Returns On This Week’s Smackdown (Spoiler)

John Laurinaitis returned to WWE television in a segment taped for this week’s Smackdown. The show opened with The Rock cutting a promo on John Cena. Laurinaitis interrupted, explaining he had permission from Teddy Long to be out there.

Laurinaitis explained the reason he’s here is because he has a problem with John Cena. He blamed Cena for his “firing” and offered to be in The Rock’s corner at Wrestlemania 29. When Laurinaitis extended his hand for a handshake, Rock gave him a spine buster and The People’s Elbow to end the segment.

Laurinaitis, who works backstage as a producer, last appeared in front of a WWE audience at a WWE Raw live event in Doha, Qatar last month.

OOOOOOOOOOOH NOOOOOOOOOO! Laurinitis is back on tv? HHH whatever are you thinking?

  • opie

Yes! Yes! Yes! Bringing the most painfully boring character in WWE histoy will TOTALLY make this already must-watch Wrestlemania build soooo much better…right?

Well yeah. That is good booking, Put on TV everybody hates to get heat & to hopefully get beat up. Put a superstar with him, stock for him goes up. Any Babyface going up against that Superstar & John Laurinitis & that is big money for all three

    Heeeeeeerrreeeeesss JOHNEY!

You want some unpredictability in the Taker/Punk match at WM29? Add a stipulation that the winner will be managed by John Laurinaitis ;-)

  • Rich

Good decision..ratings for raw went down after they got rid of jonny, it’s a fact. His heat draws ratings.

  • chris

Call him boring all you want, he could generate more heat than all the heels combined. Punk even gets cheered.

  • Patrick

Boring Johnny? Only one thing to say. “UGHHHHHHHHHHHH” (ala Charlie Brown )
