Jeff Hardy was scheduled for a probable cause hearing this morning in Carthage, NC. Today's hearing is being held to determine whether or not a crime has been committed, and whether or not Jeff Hardy is the one who probably committed said crime.
If Hardy is found to have probably committed the crime(s), the case would then be passed on to a Grand Jury. It would be up to the Grand Jury, at this point, to decide whether or not to indict Hardy on any of the following crimes: Felony trafficking of opium, Felony possession with intent to redistribute a Schedule III drug (two counts), Felony possession of cocaine, Maintaining a dwelling for drug use and/or distribution and possession of drug paraphernalia.
If Hardy ends up being indicted by the Grand Jury, he would be transferred to Superior Court to stand trial unless he opts to make a plea deal with the prosecution.
We'll have more on this as the story develops.
