Outcome Of HHH vs. Daniel Bryan, Heat On AJ Lee?, PPVs Ending Early, Hall Of Fame Headliner

Is there any real chance even with the stipulation that Triple H beats Daniel Bryan at Wrestlemania XXX?

There is absolutely a chance that Triple H goes over Daniel Bryan and is inserted into the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match at Wrestlemania XXX. Critics will say this is Hunter’s way of burying Bryan (both in a kayfabe sense and a legitimate sense), however, I still think Bryan is the favorite to go on to the title match later in the night. I like the added stipulation because it creates doubt, which increases intrigue. The big knock on the stipulation when it was announced last week was that it created an obvious situation. With the updated stipulation, it’s no longer as obvious.

Do you think that AJ Lee might be getting punished because of her relationship with CM Punk? She seems to be losing a lot lately.

No, AJ Lee, the real-life girlfriend of CM Punk, is not being punished due to the situation with CM Punk. AJ has the protection of Vince McMahon, which is why there ended up being no repercussions over the infamous Michelle Beadle incident last year. The losses are storyline related and if there were real heat on her, she would have dropped the Divas Championship before she broke the “longest reign” record.

Why does wrestling pay-per-views end around 20 minutes early?

WWE and TNA pay-per-views aren’t booked right up until 11 PM ET because if they would accidentally go over, they’d lose the feed and have to refund all customers. This actually happened to WCW Halloween Havoc 1998 when the show ran long and the PPV cut off. WCW had to show Goldberg vs. DDP, the main event, for free on Monday Nitro. This is also something I don’t foresee changing with pay-per-views moving to the WWE Network as the company will still have traditional providers in place. However, it’s worth noting the WWE Network does give the company much more flexibility.

Do you see the Ultimate Warrior as the headliner of the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame class?

Yes, I consider the Ultimate Warrior to be the headliner of the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame class. It’s the 30th Anniversary of Wrestlemania, Hogan is back and Warrior taking his rightful place is only fitting. I think we’re all highly anticipating what is likely to be a bizarre induction speech, with Linda McMahon formally inducting him. We have details on another induction being delayed that you can read about here on WrestlingNewsWorld.com.

From the Ask WNW vault…

March 2012: How does The Rock vs. John Cena compare to Rock vs. Hollywood Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania X8 a decade ago? - I actually think The Rock vs. John Cena is a bigger match and has more hype surrounding it than Rock vs. Hogan. Hogan was already out of his prime by the time the Wrestlemania X8 match happened and this isn’t the case with Rock and Cena. Rock is not even 40 yet (Hogan was 48) and can still compete at a very high level. The Rock vs. Cena is unique in that you have one of the biggest stars of the Attitude Era versus the biggest star of today yet the former is still young enough to work at a top level. I’m not saying it’ll be the best Wrestlemania match ever, it might not even be the best match of the night, but I do not recall another bout having as much build and hype as Rock vs. Cena.

The HHH announcement was added to create doubt obviously, but it would be foolish to believe they’d risk the backlash of not putting DB in the title match. However I still feel the WM outcome for DB is obvious. He’s gonna beat HHH, but he WILL NOT walk out as champ. He will get screwed over again and Batista will walk out champ. I’ve said it before, DB is only this far over because the way he’s been screwed over and made into an underdog. Once he wins the title all his momentum will slowly fade away along with the fan reactions.

    • Xavier

I’m really starting to get the feeling that The Shield turning face is just a tease as well.I think they’ll play a huge role in screwing Bryan out of the title at Mania somehow.

      • Cubed56

I could see it, however i think the turn is to keep the shield fresh. I think they will help DB after he gets screwed at WM.

        • Holden Patrick Harris

extreme rules 2014. bryan and the shield vs hhh, orton, batista and kane. bryans team wins he gets the title.

      • JR Texx (Jamie)

It’s probably because the WWE doesn’t know what to do with them yet so they’re just getting them to do different things, testing the water and all that jazz.

        • Cubed56

Agreed. I think a face run could work though, dont you? If nothing else it keeps them together for awhile, instead of splitting them now, and them possibly getting lost in the WM season shuffle

          • JR Texx (Jamie)

I still want to keep them together, still alot more they could do, a turn would keep them together for a while longer and hopefully they will you never know.. more feuds with the wyatts could be down the road.

          • Cubed56

I agree, I want them to stay together also, as I agree there is a lot left for them to do as a faction. Hey man, I’m not real sure what are exchange was really all about on other posts on this thread, I’m hoping we just had some sort of communication error or something got lost in translation, no hard feelings huh?

      • Jbreed

I have a feeling their just postponing an eventual breakup of The Shield because they plan on just throwing then into the battle royal. It’s a shame if it’s the case because The Shield deserves a lot better.

      • GOR

So, after Bryan, Ortan n Batista its SHIELD’s time to get screwed by the confused idiots.
Well, always thought they got pushed too up too early anyway.

    • Padres4life

oh yeah, his momentum will go away…..hes’ been beaten down every week and screwed over tons, and the people are still with him and you’re saying that when something happens that the fans want, him winning the title, you’re saying they’ll stop cheering for him..check yourself! so you’re saying he should never be champion because he’s an underdog? Cena still labels himself an underdog and he’s been champ for 14 times..nice try! why can’t people just like Bryan and not complain about him? ugh!

      • Cubed56

Who is complaining? When did i ever say DB should not be champ? Im actually a DB fan. As far as cena as an underdog still, smh please, now thats a nice try. Cena was like DB, people wanted him as champ, look at him now, hes booed as much as cheered, probably booed more. Your right hes been beating down and screwed over and the fans are still with him, thats how it works. This is exactky like the rise of eddie guerrero and chris benoit. They were exactly like DB, smaller guys who kept getting looked over, beat up, and screwed over. Once they got the titles(what all fans wanted) their momentum, support and star power slowly faded. That is what i am worried will happen to DB.

        • JR Texx (Jamie)

I don’t know why this has come about, but if you say something that someone doesn’t like on the internet you automatically hate that person.

          • Cubed56

I dont hate anybody actually. I was merely explaining my opinion to padres4life. Weve seen this story before with Guerrero and Benoit, and once they got what the fans wanted for them, their momentum faded. Like i said im a DB fan, i hope he gets the title at some point, but when he does, then what? Im just hoping the same doesnt happen to him as the other guys.

          • JR Texx (Jamie)

I said “you automatically hate that person” as in a response to you disliking what he has said, and because you dislike what he had typed you hate Daniel Bryan in his eyes. Sheesh, I’ll make it simpler to read for you next time.

          • Guest

They just have to book it right. His payoff shouldnt be at WM30. It couldve been…if he won the Royal Rumble, but they didnt go that route…so they gotta extend this out just a little longer….but they have to do it right.

        • GOR

Just coz DB may win title at WM dozn’t mean he won’t be screwed over again. maybe he’ll be an underdog champ [like mysterio], who keeps facing uphill battles. or maybe he’ll be screwed n lose the title in 1-2 months to batista.
This will intensify their rivalry even more. Bryan’s momentum n popularity will depend upon how he’s booked after winning the title. But, looking at the class of current bookers i smell a disaster again.

      • Hardy

I think he means the build up has been so great that once he’s champ that will all be over. He won’t obviously lose the fan base once he wins, but the longer it goes on for and the longer the anticipation lasts. That will all go once he wins. But let’s hope he has a great reign soon!! If anyone deserves it, it’s certainly Daniel Bryan!!

      • Guest

Hes saying that Bryan is a chaser. Hes best when chasing the title. Hes the ultimate underdog. Him getting screwed over and over again is how he got this much over as he is now. The payoff just has to be right…but they messed up already, so unfortunately its not a WM30. But I can think of ways to book D Bryan great from hear on out, that the payoff will be great. They are smart. Im sure they will know what to do.

    • PHATBOYLBC

      I agree

  • Jaryd

So when PPVs inevitably are eventually only carried by the network does this mean we could potentially see overruns on the shows rather than early finishes?

  • Travis Kellar

I don’t think there is any other outcome for WrestleMania other than Bryan leaving as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Richard has said it before — WWE essentially booked themselves into a corner when they booked Batista as the winner of the Royal Rumble. The crowd crapped all over the Royal Rumble match, and I don’t think the WWE is foolish enough to let that happen a second time with him at WrestleMania.

That, or there is going to be a massive swerve. I wouldn’t be shocked if Vince McMahon returns — last night’s segment with Kane/The Shield/Lawler seems like a tease, that maybe somebody enabled the Yes Movement to happen.

Long story short, Daniel Bryan will go over. At this point, he almost has to.

    • Cubed56

I cant stress enough how well the writers have salvaged this whole story. Yes they booked themselves in a corner with batista winning the rumble. However they covered it by almost guaranteeing DB will be in the title match at WM. However DB is so over cause he keeps getting screwed over. DB will beat HHH, but will not win the title at WM. Just by him being in the match will have fans invested and not crapping on it, and when he doesnt win, the show is over, so the fans will have nothing to hijack.

  • cory zepperi

Just for the record, Triple H was money on the mic last night.

    • Jbreed

He actually saved the opening segment because Batista was embarrassingly bad.

    • Matt

He did a great job. Reminded me of the Attitude Era

  • Padres4life

don’t you love how Triple H took credit for Bryan being where he is? He admitted that he continually put road block after road block in front of him….okay well if that was you doing that to Bryan, care to explain why? I mean it never made any sense how badly they botched his booking, there was no reason to delay his stardom like that.

    • Cubed56

Im starting to think that you think all this is real.

      • H.M.

He’s just questioning the kayfabe logic of it all.

        • Cubed56

I know, I’m just joking with him, I understand exactly what he’s questioning.

      • Xavier

        Lol

  • JR Texx (Jamie)

I actually think HHH should win the title, I mean Daniel Bryan beating HHH for revenge for Wrestlemania and getting the title aswell?

  • Jason

My thoughts: Triple H will win the Daniel Bryan match. Right before the main event, Vince will return with a “surprise announcement” saying that he has turned the match into a fatal 4 way and inserted Daniel Bryan.

    • JR Texx (Jamie)

Seriously? Guessing you people just want to insert Daniel Bryan no matter what, even if it doesn’t make sense.

      • Cubed56

Wow! You couldn’t be any more of a hypocrite could you?

        • JR Texx (Jamie)

How so? Because it wouldn’t make sense in putting Daniel Bryan in the title match if he loses too HHH?

Right… and what would the HHH V Bryan match serve then? it would be nothing but a time filler and a waste of all this time setting up the stipulation.

          • Avalanchian

Could make sense if say…. Shawn Michaels sweet chin music on Bryan to cost him the match. But either way I don’t look for Bryan to lose against HHH period.

          • JR Texx (Jamie)

Na, WWE won’t do that, if Daniel Bryan loses, he would probably just sabotage the match in some way.

          • Cubed56

Lol, look at a response I gave to one of your comments below. I’m joking, you said I hated padres4life cause he said something I didn’t like, yet that was far from the case as I was merely explaining my opinion, cause I felt he thought I was saying something completely different. Now Jason says something you didn’t like, and you jump down his throat and crap all over him, it was very hypocritical on your part.

          • JR Texx (Jamie)

There is a difference between saying something I don’t like and then saying something that wouldn’t/doesn’t even make sense…

FYI, I never said you hated padres4life. Try reading more often.

          • Cubed56

Lol, your right I completely misread your comment, and thought you were calling me out, when in fact you were pretty much calling out the other guy. I did re-read what you wrote and get what you were saying, my fault bud, I apologize, no hard feelings.

    • Bob’s Diner

Why do people want it to be a fatal four way so badly???
They aren’t entertaining matches and are what you do when people aren’t really feuding with each other.

      • JR Texx (Jamie)

People just want D.Bryan in the match, it’s just a repeat of the aftermath of Batista winning the Rumble, when they just kept saying it should be a triple threat, now there could be a chance that HHH could win they’re just doing the same but saying fatal 4 way, it’s ridiculous.

        • Cubed56

Agreed. He has to be in the match though, only cause they are worried about the crowd if he isn’t. Personally I was fine with him just facing HHH and maybe getting a title shot extreme rules if he wins.

          • JR Texx (Jamie)

Just out of curiosity, what are you agreeing too?

          • Cubed56

Ha, I’m agreeing that people just want DB in the match whether it makes sense or not.

          • Bob’s Diner

I think some people won’t be happy until every match at WrestleMania is Daniel Bryan vs someone. And then a week later they will be saying they are sick of Daniel Bryan being shoved down their throats

        • Bob’s Diner

Nah people on here have been asking for a fatal four way for months – but they are crappy matches and I can’t imagine WWE making that mistake ever again.

BTW what is with people now wanting McMahon to insert Bryan in the match for no reason? Do they forget he was the one that was so against Bryan in the first place? Do they want a repeat of the ‘Higher Power’ or Vince helping The Rock only to screw him over?

      • Xavier

Agreed! I was at WM16 live and the fatal four way between Rock, Triple H, Big Show & Triple H was terrible

        • Cubed56

Terrible is being nice. It was absolutely atrocious.

          • Xavier

            Lol very true

        • JR Texx (Jamie)

Rock, HHH, Big Show & HHH huh?

Sheesh, one nose is enough who nose what two nose’s would be like.

          • Xavier

Lol my bad, I meant Foley

          • JR Texx (Jamie)

Yeah I know, just pulling ye chain. :)

        • Bob’s Diner

You were there live? How amazing was the tag-title match live?

          • Xavier

Dude, that triple threat ladder match was just sick. Words can’t do it justice. Unfortunately that was the only thing worth talking about at that year’s Mania.

          • Bob’s Diner

Well, at least you got to see Jericho and Angle wrestle a guy that never existed…

    • Jason

For those saying that this comment makes no sense, it actually makes perfect sense. For the past 2 weeks, it has been Triple H and Stephanie barking about how Raw and the WWE is theirs and no one else. They have been saying how they own everything and it’s all theirs. It is setting up perfectly for Vince to intervene in some way between Triple H and Daniel Bryan. Also, don’t forget that the original storyline was to be between Triple H vs CM Punk (with Vince) for control. So to have Triple H win the match then have Vince insert Daniel Bryan into the match would be the perfect way to screw over Triple H. The other way I could see it playing out is Vince comes out during the match and costs Triple H the victory somehow and Daniel Bryan gets into the main event and it remains a triple threat match.

      • Bob’s Diner

Uh nope – according to kayfabe, Vince no longer has any power. HHH was put in charge by the board. The whole ‘face of the company’ angle was built around Vince convincing HHH that he should choose Randy Orton and support him because Vince no longer had the power to do so

BTW when did anyone say CM Punk was going to have Vince in his corner? Was this another one of Meltzer’s ‘big scoops’?

        • Guest

Read the Premium Articles. Richard spoke about the CM Punk angle about 6 weeks ago.

        • Jason

Read the Premium Articles. Richard spoke about that angle about 6-8 weeks ago when Punk first walked out after the Rumble. It was one of the scenario’s that was being tossed around to get him to come back since they were going to attempt to have Triple H vs CM Punk.

  • Bob’s Diner

I have no doubt Daniel Bryan will beat HHH at WrestleMania. I’m not sure how much ‘doubt’ the change could cause anyone – Orton vs HHH vs Batista would get a worse reaction than Batista winning the Royal Rumble, especially if Daniel Bryan lost earlier in the night.

    • Cubed56

Agreed, however I still don’t think DB leaves WM with the title. I still feel he will get screwed in that match.

      • Bob’s Diner

Oh absolutely – he is only being added because of the crowd reactions the last couple of months. Batista is still my pick, though I wouldn’t be too surprised to see the show end with an Evolution reunion in some fashion

        • Cubed56

That would be kinda cool. No doubt DB is being added just to control the crowd, this way when he doesn’t win, the show is over. Yea the fans will be pissed, but there is no show left for them to hijack.

          • Bob’s Diner

Yup. The booking of Raw proves they know how to handle the crowd now – just put Daniel Bryan in the ring with people the crowd hates.

I’m a little disappointed, as I was looking forward to the crazy chants all through the title match

          • Cubed56

Ha, I was too, I was actually hoping for a walk out.

  • Marc

What if, triple H loses to bryan and inserts himself in the wwe whc title picture anyways and make it a fatal 4-way. That would lead to even more doubt that bryan wins the championship.

    • JR Texx (Jamie)

Again, if that was to happen, what would be the whole point in having the stipulation for HHH v Bryan?

      • Avalanchian

Could be just to show how power hungry and hell bent HHH is on keeping Bryan from the title.

        • JR Texx (Jamie)

Then wouldn’t HHH just make sure he would win against D.Bryan?

    • GOR

HHH would rather walk into title match n screw DB, let batista win n walk away.

  • jdl

While I do believe that Bryan will go over, I don’t doubt for a second that right now Triple H is whispering “I should go over at WrestleMania, that’ll show this internet chumps.” in Vince’s ear. “Just imagine,” he’ll say, “Your son-in-law winning the title in the main event, just think of the reaction from the crowd. They’ll eat it up!” and Vince, being completely out of touch, will actually consider it.

    • Bob’s Diner

That is actually hilarious and very plausible. I mean, this is the guy that considered his title match with Stephanie McMahon, I mean Chris Jericho, was more important than Hulk Hogan vs The Rock

  • Charles

If someone that literally had like two good years is the HEADLINER of a Hall of Fame class then it’s time for Daniel Bryan to occupy the ceremony till they put in Randy Savage and about a dozen other guys who are far more deserving.

  • Jay El Bee

Actually I’d say now that Triple H has added that stipulation it’s made it even more obvious that Bryan will be beating him. As a part-time wrestler I doubt Triple H is going to wrestle twice in one night, unless his match with Bryan is extremely short. Also since they decided to not do a heel vs heel match at WM I don’t see them replacing it with a heel vs heel vs heel match.

  • GOR

DB has to win the title. WM tagline is “the stage where dream cm true”. That’s y every year they have sm1 with a big story n happy ending. This year it is DB. There is no1 wth a bigger story than him, so he has to get a happy ending.

No doubt he will be screwed after WM. But WM is his. Othrwise people will shit over the following RAW n SD.

    • Bob’s Diner

WrestleMania 16 followed the exact same story and the heel champion retained his title. In fact, there have been 3 or 4 occassions now where the heel champ has retained
