PAC/WWE, Lesnar Or Punk At WM29, Why Tonight Is Crucial For WWE, Raw 3 Hours

What happened to the high flying indy worker PAC?

PAC signed a WWE developmental contract in July 2012 and is currently working in NXT Wrestling as Adrian Neville. You can check out his recent work set to air on WWE NXT in the taping results posted here at WrestlingNewsWorld.com.

Who has a better chance of going over at Wrestlemania 29 – Brock Lesnar or CM Punk?

Pretty much everyone I speak with feels Undertaker is going 21-0 while Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar is more up in the air. I personally feel that both Lesnar and Punk go under and that Triple H avenges his loss from SummerSlam while Undertaker upholds the streak. My preference is for Punk to end the streak although I can see valid arguments from both sides on Hunter vs. Lesnar. Many readers are interpreting my personal preference of Punk “ending the streak” to think I’m saying it’s likely to happen or even being talked about. This is unfounded as I feel Undertaker goes over and that he’s returning to do just that. However, I do think WWE has a unique opportunity and if there is ever going to be a payoff to the streak, this is the year.

Is it just me or does it seem like there is a lack of hype for Wrestlemania 29?

This week’s WWE Raw is critical to the build of Wrestlemania 29 and WWE must rebound from a very weak show last week. The Rock is back so expect a heavy push for his WWE title match against John Cena. The hype for Wrestlemania started strong but has dwindled with weak programming. Did WWE ever think the reason for viewership dropping in the third hour of Raw is because the show doesn’t end until 11:15 and young audience isn’t up until that time especially a Monday night with school the next day?

WWE pursuing a younger audience could be a culprit for viewers tuning out for the third and final hour of Raw, however, I do not feel this is the reason. Prior to WWE taking Raw to a three-hour format, the 10-11 hour was always the most watched hour. WWE PG began in 2008 so the audience has been getting younger since then. My belief is viewers are suffering from viewer fatigue and are tuning out for the third and final hour.

Adrian Neville aka PAC is one half of the NXT Tag Champions with Oliver Grey. I enjoy their work and look forward to see their chemistry grow.

    • Jimmy

Adrian Neville, Kassius Ohno, Leo Kruger, Bo Dallas, Paige and Summer Rae should all be brought up to the main roster. and what ever happened ti Ritchie Steamboat?

  • Babie Sabrina

what about keeping the first two hours of RAW pg then turning up the heat for the third and final hour of Raw (so you can get your money from advertising and family ratings then boom 7 o’clock rolls around put the youngins down and ramp up Raw and do more grown up advertising to at that point win win to me

What’s the point in having punk over taker when punk already had a 434 day run as wwe champpion. That alone is all he need to be viewed as a top guy. Plus he plans to retire in 2015, if streak was to end it should be carried on for a long time.

I must say, ever since the Monday night wars ended I’ve been watching WWF/E religiously (before I was more of a WCW guy…before the Russo/Bishoff era of course) and ever since then all the builts, all the matches for a Wrestlemania had been phenominal! Even the hype for Brock Lesnar vs Goldberg was awesome because it was a match everyone wanted to see! The build to Kane vs Undertaker WM 20, the build to Triple H vs Batista WM 21, the build to HBK vs Undertaker 1 and 2 phenominal! To this day I firmly believe that WM 21 was the greatest card to ever be put together just because there were so many first time matches! However WM 29 is shaping up to be the worst WM card ever with the worst build ever! What saddens me the most is that it will take place in the greatest location they could ever hope for, in the NY/NJ area with really passionate fans. It is safe to say that there are going to be a lot of boos during the WWE TITLE match, and not just for Cena! Dwayne Johnson has been a tremendous disappointment as wwe champion and a lot of ppl I talk to feel the same. Seems like all he really cares about is promoting his 4 movies coming out this year and to hell with WM. just take for example his appearance of the talk show…triple h vs Lesnar sure it should be a great match but we’ve seen it already! Lets see something different! If I was booking the card it would be so easy…Rock vs Brock

I’ve bailed out of raw in the 3rd hour dozens of times, specially when the main event is going to be stale (Which it usually is). 3 hours is too damn long to watch ANY show. I think they should strongly consider going back to 2 hours.

  • JYD

It can’t really help Raw too much when you have HHH, the Rock, Brock Lesnar, and the Undertaker (all of whom are playing a big part in Wrestlemania) not working any matches prior to the big show.

    • D_gilbert88

Not to mention cena and punk not having matches in case of injury.

      • Jimmy

When was the last time Raw had a main event match to end the show? lol feels like its been ages

I could never sit through an entire three-hour edition of RAW ever since they went to three hours each and every week. It was a novelty when there would be special events and RAW had that extra hour, but I think WWE took its audience for granted and believed they would sit there and take whatever they threw onto the show and would ask for more. I stopped watching RAW several months ago and I simply cannot bring myself to watch it while it remains three hours, it’s just too much and I don’t find their current product entertaining.

I guess the missing piece of the puzzle is whether USA dictated that the extra hour MUST be used for RAW or was it just USA gave them the extra time and WWE decided to just slap a third hour onto RAW instead of doing something a little different.

I’ve stated in the past that a more interesting use of the other time would have been a version of the Legends of Wrestling Roundtable, except focused on that week’s episode of RAW. Much like there are various shows which have a discussion show following the main show, like how Talking Dead discusses Walking Dead.

Unfortunately, while such a concept could be potentially interesting, I doubt Vince McMahon would allow anybody under contract to WWE to voice open and honest opinions on the programming.

While i agree last weeks raw was weak, this weeks won’t be much different than any other time the Rock has appeared, talks bit, maybe Cena comes out, they debate who’s gonna win in their title match …. sorry but seen that soooo many times, Rock should be in action!! WWE loses the audience in the third hour because nothing exciting is keeping interests, it’s all predictable and the only thing with an element of unpredictability about it is when the Shield get involved! Get rid of PG in my opinion!

I’ve said it numerous times already and I’ll say it again Raw’s main reason for losing viewers in the final hour has nothing to do with viewer fatigue. I know this because the final hour of Raw has been losing viewers for years now, and it’s only been a 3 hour show since last Summer.

check the ratings archive and you will see that your argument is invalid

      • http://www.facebook.com/jayel.bee.3 Jay El Bee

I did look at the ratings archive like you said and even in 2011 Raw was losing viewers in the second hour, which was way before Raw became a 3 hour show. Also I’m not sure how my argument is invalid since all you did was point me to something that backs up what I am saying.
