Paul Bearer Dies Under WWE Legend’s Contract

The wrestling world is in a state of shock as we grieve the sudden passing of William “Paul Bearer” Moody. Details regarding his passing are unknown although we are able to confirm Moody hadn’t been feeling well lately.

He was under a WWE Legend’s contract, where the company was able to market the Paul Bearer gimmick and use him for promotional appearances, but he was still able to work routine indy dates. Moody appeared at last Saturday’s Gulf Coast Wrestling show in Theodore, Alabama.

Moody’s wife, Dianne, died after battling cancer just over four years ago on January 31, 2009.

I always thought his name was Percy Pringle? Was that also a stage name or am I wrong?

  Yes. They were both his Stage name

  He went under Percy Pringle in the various territories that he worked, most notably in WCCW and his short stint in USWA. He would also make all of his recent convention show and indy appearances under that name, as WWE owns the Paul Bearer name.

Paul may you ready in peace ***in a horrible impersonation voice***. Truly will be missed. Had hoped to see him and Paul heyman have it out leading to WM. But at least now reunited with his wife. RIP PAUL/WILLIAM

So sad man…

The plan was for Punk to retire the Undertaker to retain his “Best In The World” shtick with Bearer & the druids carrying taker to rest in peace himself. I honestly don’t think it’ll happen now. If anything, Taker will go over and pay tribute to him on the grandest stage of them all. Much respect to William Moody and may he rest in peace. He is a very great fit in the WWE Hall of Fame and should rightfully be inducted by The Undertaker in due time.
