Paul Heyman’s Third Client Is…

Paul Heyman announced on this week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw that his third client, the newest “Paul Heyman guy,” is Curtis Axel.

Axel’s the real-life son of the late Curt Hennig and formerly worked in WWE as Michael McGillicutty. His real name is Joe Hennig. The name was developed by using his father’s name (Curt Hennig) and his grandfather’s name (Larry “The Axe” Hennig).

Axel is a former member of The Nexus faction, as Michael McGillicutty, and has been in WWE’s developmental system since 2007. We knew something was up with him after he berated Sin Cara in-character (See also - Michael McGillicutty Says He’ll Knock Sin Cara’s Punk Ass Out) following a loss on last week’s episode of WWE Superstars.

Axel had stated publicly he was not a fan of the Michael McGillicutty name.

I asked rivhard weeks ago when he was getting a push and now he finally is well done

  • Lewis

I’m glad he’s FINALLY going to get a push, but I kind of hoped for him to align with Zeb

  • michael

    I like it

  • Lewis

I like Heyman managing big guys as I think they suit his style of management, so with that said it should have been Ezekiel Jackson, and Curtis Axel should of been with Zeb, but that’s just how I’d do it

    • Loren Goldstein

I wasn’t aware that Punk was a big guy. My mistake.

      • Lewis

I mean to stay bringing up Big Guys, Punk was already established as a main eventer

        • Loren Goldstein

I’m sorry, I’m still confused. If you mean guys who are already established, Lesnar debuted with Heyman.

          • Lewis

What I meant was I prefer seeing him bring in big guys, like he did with Lesnar. Punk is the exception as he was already an established main eventer. Big guys suit his character as he likes to run his mouth, but needs a big man to big his sort of bodyguard.

          • Lewis

            be his bodyguard*

  • Nostaljack

I saw him and I wasn’t sure how it’d work. At the time I’m typing this, the match with Triple H (love that he’s gonna help him get over) hasn’t happened yet but I like what I’m seeing so far.

  • JohnnyC

    Curt gonna get buried lol.

  • Sandusky

I thought it was going to be Richard Gray. Lol

  • Smart Mark

I guess Bret Hart knew something we didn’t know back when he picked Michael McGillicutty to end Undertaker’s streak and we all all slandered the ish outta him.

Finally he is getting a push and finally a better name. plus that remixed Mr. Perfect theme was just awesome

    • -|AZ|-

      That remixed theme gave me chills \m// ( T_T ) \m//

Lets hope Joe lives up to the name of his family…

  • Andrew Ace

This is stupid. Cesaro should’ve been the 3rd client

  • Diddy304

I personally think his push is past due and hopefully it will give us a break from the same boring matches between Big Show, Sheamus, ADR, Cena, Orton, Ziggler WWE definitely lacks variety right now, this can only be a positive.

  • Kenneth

Glad he’s getting a push. The name makes him sound like a reject from Streets of Rage though.
