Randy Orton Wins MITB Ladder Match, CM Punk Busted Open

Randy Orton won the WWE Championship Money in the Bank ladder match at the pay-per-view in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Sunday. As the storyline goes, Orton has 365 days to “cash in” the MITB “contract” to challenge for the WWE Championship.

CM Punk was badly busted open when Paul Heyman hit him directly in the face with a ladder. Punk, bleeding everywhere, rolled out of the ring where he received medical attention to stop the bleeding.

And the crowd goes wild for orton…lol no one cares about him im sure they regret that. It was embarrassing how quiet that crowd got. LMAO.

  • Stephen Cash

The crowd would have had the same reaction if anyone, but RVD won. They might have cared about DB, but that’s it.

    • Nick K

If you didn’t see how over Bryan was with that crowd you’re delusional

      • Justin Lal

Yes Bryan is over, but Orton is the bigger star. If Bryan was that popular he wouldn’t have drawn such a pathetic rating three weeks ago for his big moment.

        • Nick K

Orton was in that match too. You’re delusional and as I’ve said before you’re not to be taken seriously.

        • Kris Guenther

          What “pathetic rating”?

        • Anand Vijayakumar

You cant build newer stars unless you trust them. Orton wouldnt be the star he is today if Triple h, Mic foley etc did not put him over years ago. If on that date people thought that Foley or Trip was a bigger star than Orton – He wouldnt be where he is today.

I do agree that Orton is the bigger star today and can be really a great heel, it is high time DB got his reward for constantly putting on entertaining matches & amazing promos.

          • Jimmy

They are building him, did he not pick up wins over Orton, Sheamus and Christian on the process to MITB? He’s getting his shot, just not yet. They can’t have Daniel Bryan in a WWE title feud as long as Cena is the face champion. Unless of course they’re setting up a match at WM between the 2. But Orton has worked hard to get his spot back and think of it this way, with Orton and Cena feuding it means one of them must turn heel. Isn’t that what the IWC wanted?

      • Justin Lal

Yes Bryan is over, but Orton is the bigger star. If Bryan was that popular he wouldn’t have drawn such a fucking pathetic rating three weeks ago for his big moment.

  • urnemystic

Randy Orton? Seriously? with everyone in the match they chose him? What a joke. Guess he has to do something to earn that tremendous salary.

    • Justin Lal

      Class Warfare, huh? Typical

    • Jimmy

Lol the only person that sounds like a joke here is you.

  • RVDSHOULDHAVEWON

I wanted anyone but Orton or Sheamus

  • Cubed56

Well now possibly the Wyatt family attack Orton since Orton has something to lose, and Orton did punt “husky harris” off tv a few years back.

  • steve2

that looked like punk bladed to me

    • Cubed56

Just watched it back, and I wish I could say he bladed, but he took the ladder directly off the side of his head, he was busted open the hard way.

  • Justin Lal

You’re getting off on this, aren’t you? Get this through your thick head: Orton is a bigger star than Daniel Bryan. That’s why he won tonight.

    • Nick K

Not anymore as that crowd showed, no reaction on his entrance, no reaction on his spots and no reaction for his win. Bryan has been more over for awhile but you being a fan of his refuse to see it. I don’t have any issues with orton I’m just telling it how it is. You gotta build stars not re-hash the same things. Face facts, it was a mistake.

      • jdl

Now, now, let’s be fair here. When Orton gets going with the fans, Orton really gets going, but he’s not particularly over with the hardcore wrestling fan. Give him some time and an audience that is not super hardcore like the Philly audience and he’ll get reactions.

Plus, this is the perfect chance to turn him heel. Have him cash in on Cena, fail to win the title and turn heel.

        • 1degenerate

Exactly. If this wasn’t in a place where the indy guys are most known Orton’s pop would’ve been huge. All that were there tonight were indy samrks rooting for their ex ECW/ROH/Indy guys and booing everyone else. Sux to be them.

          • dektpunx

Daniel bryans actually been getting better reactions than orton everywhere for a while now….even in non-smark crowds

          • 1degenerate

Not from the house show reports Ive read these past few weeks where both were on them at the same show.Take away the Yes chant that the kiddies mark over and he’d be as over as JTG.

          • FNM Guy

“If this wasn’t a place where the crowd knows better…”

          • Jimmy

And even still its not like like Orton got no pop, he just didn’t get as much as the internet darlings. And this is the same crowd that cheered for Punk over HHH, HBK and the Hardys at Survivor Series 2006 so obviously they’re gonna cheer for him even more now.

    • Jimmy

Thank you, and Orton has worked hard to get back to this position.

  • 1degenerate

Orton haters are so sad right now.Love it.

  • Andrew ace

Wwe spoiled the entire ppv on they’re YouTube channel with the simulated outcome of every match and people still bought it and tuned in to watch

Guess I’m gonna get my “Randy Orton’s salary” shot in here..*clears throat* here we go….now that he’s me MITB he could go well over $300k. But in all seriousness. There were reports flying that Bryan was supposed to win but I gotto believe that after the Orton deal leaked out, they changed plans in order to have Orton actually earn the money he’s making. I don’t mean this in a negative way, like give him a more prominent role on TV. I could honest care less for Orton even if he turns heel because I’ve given up on the guy.

    • jdl

That makes absolutely no sense. Why would they change their mind and make him “earn” the money just because the public knows how much money the man potentially pulls in? If he wasn’t “earning” it before then the public learning about it wouldn’t make a difference.

      • Hercules Rockerfeller

Earn in the sense of since he’s making main event money than he should be a main eventer. That’s all I meant.

  • Pinkie Pie

Eh. I guess it’s cool that this could finally lead to Orton’s much needed heel turn, but I don’t know. I’m just not feeling it anymore. Years ago, Orton was one of the hottest things in WWE. These days, though, he hasn’t done anything particularly interesting. He’s been pretty boring, to be honest. Maybe this will be the start of him being entertaining again, but I still would have preferred a different outcome.

  • Terrell

The only way ill be ok with this is if they turn Orton heel. People hate him as a baby face but love him as a heel. Maybe they can revisit the storyline where he kicked Vince in the skull & really give him a dominant heel push and use Orton to get Bryan over even more

    • Jimmy

Look at it this way…. With Orton holding the case, him and Cena are due for a title feud meaning that either him or Cena will have to turn heel, Its a win win situation.

  • Jimmy

Anyone and everyone who is saying that Orton doesn’t deserve this sounds completely ridiculous. Yes he has 2 wellness strikes under his belt, but Orton at one point was the top heel in the company and the #2 guy. He’s worked extremely hard to get back to this point. He wrestles matches week in and week out on Raw, Smackdown, Main Event hell he even did a match on NXT. Not to mention the countless jobs he has done to the internet guy such as Punk, Bryan & The Shield.
